  1. We received a request for evidence and submitted what they wanted and completed our biometrics. Now on the USCIS website it says

"On November 28, 2014, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by January 27, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed."

but until right now we don't receive any decision or update from the NBC.

Any ideas on how backed up the NBC is at this point?

    Thanks,

    Pete & Lula

  3. No it is not. Sputum is sputum. It takes 8 weeks for the sputum culture test to do its thing.

TB skin test has a horrible track record of false positives. Why they even bother with that when they have state of the art xray machines that supposedly give less radiation than a day at the beach I don't know.

But the xray machines give a lot of false positives too. I would probably get flagged by the xray machine because I had bronchitis last winter that left scar tissue. Still this clears most people and it only takes a day, so I can see its value.

Sputum doesn't lie, but it is a nasty slow test. That is why it is the last resort. But if it shows positive, the way to look at it is that St. Luke's just saved your son's life. TB kills. Make no mistake about that.

8 weeks waiting is well worth the discovery and treatment of a fatal illness such as TB. My grandfather died when my father was 12 from TB so it is serious business.

  4. Thank you. i stand corrected. Easier rules than Phil actually. We only get 21 days there. Do you know if they have an RSO alert like Phil does, since this is the issue for the OP? We are looking for a place that will accept him so they can meet.

Why does the lady want an RSO for a husband? That is not our issue. She is apparently past that and has not raised it, so it is not our business to inquire. They should however find out if they are going to have AWA problems getting the I129(f) approved.

Correct, it is not our issue but knowledge is power hence the link to Megan's Law in case the op would like to perform some due diligence as to who their fiancée is (especially if they have children). I was not looking for an answer from the op just wanted them to ponder the question. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. My apologies.

  5. We did get the sticker the same day but it is ridiculous how the required paperwork can vary from one person to another. Bullet point #4 on the official Manila embassy paper is the most ludicrous statement ever.

    4. Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and

So technically it is up to their discretion what documents they want to see. Other is quite a broad range. Could they ask for the birth certificate of their uncles mothers stepfather if they wanted to deny someone? Why not according to the flyer if the councilor requires it then it could fall in the "other documents" category.

As for the misinformation they spread it is repugnant and agonizingly ignorant. In the Cebu CFO seminar they said that Americans tie their women up and throw a dart at a revolving board that has various sexual acts on it then perform said sexual act. Then they told the group my fiancée was in that they all will lose weight because all Americans like for breakfast is oatmeal and milk... Really? This was followed by if you wear any knock off brand clothing you will not make it through immigration here at the port of entry... as if we have a knock off detector in use. When my fiancée told me what they said I replied are you bullshitting me? No way they said that. I laughed hard until I realized it was true then I was concerned because it seemed like they were trying to bully the attendees into changing their mind. I wonder how many have been the victim of this. All I could picture is the officials at CFO sitting in a room before the shift started going over what lies they would share that day and who could think of the most ridiculous American cultural "fact". Unreal stuff. I'm just happy we are 100% finished and she is here in less than a week.

  6. CFO what a bunch of dicks. She is still there at CFO without a sticker because she said 2013 instead of 2014 for my divorce. We separated in 2010 and it went final January of 2014. The date the judge signed it is on the last page and CFO seems to have a hard time finding this? I don't think they could find their ####### with both hands...

  7. So registering for CFO now I read the landline thing but we do not know any relatives or friends who have a land line there... Everyone has cell phones... Sooooooooooo any ideas? I am sure it would take forever to get one installed on our home there.

  8. I would never recommend what we did but when the appointment popped up for the 6th we had to try. We got lucky, unfortunately most don't so don't try this at home kids.

    Congrats!!!

    Thanks!!!

You gamblled and won. I am of course delighted for you. But I am one of those people who likes to play it safe.

Nevertheless i am delighted you got what you deserve.

    Thanks!

  9. I agree. This has been as they say hoping to make in on "A wing and a prayer". I would have rather done the week before medical but we missed that bullet point on Hank's instructions as well as grabbed the first available appointment that popped up. This has been 99.9% luck so far that it has gone without any hitches and I would not recommend anyone cutting it this close unless they have plenty of antacids. So far the luck o' the Irish has prevailed. Adrenaline rush for sure. Not sure how she got the Rush status but I will take it.
