  1. None. Enter by Oct 8. Visa is over and void on day you enter so it's expiration doesn't matter once you have used it.

Marry within 90 days of that entry date. AOS anytime, but the sooner the better because you are kind of a nothing until you get at least an EAD card (work authorization). Before that you can't work, most likely can't get a driver license, some banks act weird and won't let you have an account. The first few months after entry as a K1 can suck and frustrate you. If you don't hurry and marry and get that AOS packet in the mail, you prolong the time until you feel like you belong.

Ok thank you. I'm entering 3 weeks before we get married so i plan to get as much AOS stuff done before we marry etc

  2. No. Six months from the medical because your TB clearance is only good for 6 months. Should you require longer, you would have to return to Knightsbridge and get another chest x-ray to have the visa extended. Or in the case of people who rush to get their medical done, then get held up on the visa longer than 6 months, they have a re-do at Knightsbridge for the TB.

Okay, thank you clearing that up Nich-Nick! I had my medical on April 8th, so it's good until October 8th. That doesn't have any implications on AOS does it?

  3. Bond street is closed for quite some time. I came into Euston so just got on the Victoria line to Oxford Circus, changed to the Central line and got off at Marble Arch

Marble Arch is roughly the same distance from the embassy as Bond Street is. It's a simple 5-10 walk from Marble Arch, i just used maps on my phone to make sure i got there fine

  4. Hah okay i don't feel old now ;) still never heard mifi though, kinda embarrassing working in IT and not knowing that -.-

Anyway - I was worried about the I-134 as well, my fiancee's tax transcript only displayed half of her salary as she started working mid year, the embassy questioned this too but that's why i had taken along letters from employees detailing her salary and i explained why the transcript was weak as such. The lady said that was fine and took all of the evidence. She also asked if i had any savings, i said yes and gave her a 5 figure number, stating that this would be coming with me to America. She took a note of it on her system but didn't ask for any evidence of that.

I took 2 photos and a copy of our last boarding passes, none of it was requested though.

  5. Ohh, man i felt kinda old then.

The interview was fine, i was nervous but in the end thinking back on the entire day, it really wasn't much to worry about. As long as you have everything everybody says you need to have, then you'll be fine :)

My interview was at 8AM, i was in there at 7:45 and out by 9:15 so it was rather quick really

  6. Thanks everyone :)

I am planning on the middle of June. I need to work 1 months notice at my current job, which I'll give on Monday.

Our anniversary is June 16th so it'd be ideal to be there for that.

And I'll probably go through Dublin as I think that's the cheapest option!

    When's your move date?

I'm not planning on going until the end of July, would like to earn as much as possible before going and be there 1 month before our wedding. I'd happily go sooner though, just trying to work for the future so to speak

  7. You only need a further letter of intent from your partner if your interview date is after the 4 month expiry date provided on your NOA2 i believe.

If you've been previously married & divorced then you need the documents for that, also if you were in the military then documents for that also

  8. I took :-

    Passport + photos

    DS-160 Confirmation

    Interview Letter

    Visa fee confirmation

    I-134 & All supporting evidence

    Birth certificate + copy of

    Police certificate + copy of

    Deed pole + copy of

That was all i needed in the end. However i did take literally everything i have + copies with me just in case

  9. Dublin has 2 departure gates (maybe more now. I think the airport has expanded) for the US. On the way to the departure gate you enter a large room that is basically US immigration and inspection. manned by CBP officers etc.

You do everything here you would do state side except it is on Irish soil. Once you pass through inspection you are physically at the departure gates.

One thing from memory there are only two small places to get a drink/food after inspection and the gate area gets cramped when it fills up with people.

The upside is, once you touch down you walk straight past CBP and into baggage claim. You will also get dirty looks from people lined up at inspection State side, wondering what make you so damn special. LOL

Thank you for this, i never knew at Washington there was a separate section that completely bypassed CBP, never noticed it before  maybe i will fly via Dublin!

  10. My experience was okay, not as scary as i thought. I had a few hiccups, the first guy asked for my various documents and copies of, i handed him my original birth certificate & a certified copy i had ordered - he claimed it wasn't a copy, so i had to then explain that it is, i had to pay to get a certified copy etc and he took the copy :/ not sure if that was just a test or what..

My 2nd window was a woman who asked me some basic questions regarding myself and my fiancee, they were fine. She then proceeded to tell me that my fiancee did not earn enough to sponsor me, the form said she earns X amount but the transcript says X amount. So i had to then explain that yes the transcript says that but that is because it's not a full year and i have already handed you all the evidence to support that my fiancee does in fact have X amount - the lady then re-read all the supporting evidence and agreed

Apart from that, it was a pleasant and happy experience, i was in there at 07:45 and left around 09:15
