Completed my medical exam yesterday in MTL! It went very smoothly and now I'm just waiting eagerly for my interview! I do have a question though regarding change of address once I move down there. Is it easy or complicated? How do I go about it? My husband has a job opportunity in a neighbouring state and has been commuting because he's worried about changing everything mid process. I posed the question in its own topic in the appropriate forum but haven't received a response so maybe someone here would know the answer.

Hi,address changes won't be affected you anyway.Just call NVC and update your new address.U can change your address in DS-260 at interview as well (just tell them that you need to update your address).U may have to change your address with USCIS at the time of paying your USCIS Elis fee after your interview.We did the same successfully.

My Wife's Interview has been scheduled for January 16th, 2015 at Mumbai consulate. We already scheduled the biometrics the day before interview in Mumbai & also scheduled the physical for 29th of this month. Her file shows that its still at NVC, which I confirmed today. Now, is it something we have to worry about that it is still 'At NVC' when Interview has been scheduled and it should be reaching the consulate before that. right??

It will change as "in-transit' once its moved from NVC and will be changed as "Ready" once embassy has received your file...Nothing to worry..

..you wil be getting a mail from mumbai consulate as well by 1st or 2nd Jan to confirm your interview.

Dwheels, my wife's interview is Dec 30th, and her medical was done Nov 20th, is that too much a gap? Does she need a new medical?

I don't know about Keniya but for India we must take four vaccines 1.MMR 2.Tdap 3 Rubella 4. Influenza..That's fine for us immigration (first dose is enough as well).I did not have any previous vaccine records and as suggested by physician i got these vaccines at medical (Tdap vaccine was not available when i had medical but its no way affected to my interview)

i recevied my passport yesterday and with visa in it after 2 months of ap but small mistake in visa in birth date in visa is 23may1994 but the real is 23march1994 !! will i face problem in port of entery (JFK) ?

Yes you must get it corrected.pls go through the embassy instruction to change it..

There is no question of not to change it.YOU MUST CHANGE it, otherwise it will affect your P.O.E and this date will be printed on your green card too..mistake in DOB is NOT a small mistake,Its a serious and BIG mistake.

Bonafides means proof of your relationship

Some examples of such evidence are family and other photographs (old and recent) showing the parties together, letters, cards, correspondence, and telephone records.

Pls see the list for your reference (keep at least two or three or more (depends on you) documents ).Pls dont forget wedding album or pictures/some honeymoon pictures/family pictures etc..

I AM TRYING TOGETHER ALL NECESSARY DOC SO I CAN TRY MY LUCK WITH REQUESTING ANY OPENINGS FOR CANCELS APPOINTMENTS IN JANUARY, I BELIEVE I MISSED JANUARY INTERVIEW WINDOW

1. If your spouse does NOT have vaccine shot records, what is the minimum shots required for Kenya?

2. We mailed in ORIGINAL Birth/Marriage certficate/ police report/ AOS......

What else do i need to bring for the interview?

3. Since my AOS was approved, do I need to bring (w2/1099 or any other IRS related doc to the interview?

1.Your physician will suggest you for vaccine at medical - nothing to worry about it

2.you need to bring the copies of it .Also you need to bring Evidence of Bona fides of Marriage

3.no need if you have already submitted your IRS transcript and recent W2's to NVC - otherwise "yes" you must bring it.

Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen and my wife is scheduled for an interview in few weeks. We just found one thing that may be an issue and we are kind of freaking out.

We had our friends who lives in the US and were our neighbours in India, submit an affidavit of support letter explaining that the marriage was genuine. This letter was part of other documents we submitted for i130 petition. At the time of our marriage they were in India and attended our wedding and they have mentioned that in the letter. But we do not have a picture of them in our wedding photo album. I am worried that the interviewer may ask where is the picture of the neighbour who attended the wedding. We have pictures of some their other family members but not them. Because of this I am just hoping that this doesnt create a problem. Any ideas?

No yaar. Interviewer won't ask such questions..They may ask your wedding or honeymoon pictures but if you have already submitted your pictures then they will not ask it again..in my case interviewer did not ask anything other than my wife's name.

My interview is on Jan 16th at Mumbai consulate. I have few doubt's regarding the biometrics n medicals

1)is it ok to do the biometrics on the previous day of interview??or shud we schedule it 3-4 days before d interview date??

2)what should we do if we don have the vaccination history ?? Bcoz I read sumver dat v need to have dat ven v go for d medical checkup

yup, you can do your bio-metrics on the previous day of your interview (only think you need to check the availability/appointment on that day).My interview was on December 11 th and i did my bio-metrics on 10th december at mumbai...As i already mentioned 'VAC/OFC and consulate' are in different locations (2-3 km distance).Ask for Trade center for bio-metrics and consulate for interview (near Trident hotel/city bank etc).Both are in same Bandra kurla complex.

That's all !!! ...Tdap vaccine was not available when i had medical (physician mentioned the same in my medical report as well) but its no way affected my interview.

Taxi guys are familiar with it... they will ask you are you going for finger print or interview ? .. I think people who try to go their own will end up in the consulate

If u tell them US consulate or BKC they will send you to US consulate.We must tell them Trade center for finger print.

Those who are going to mumbai for interview and biometrics kindly keep in mind that US consulate and VAC/OFC are in different locations (Both in BKC but Bandra Kurla complex is having many buildings/offices etc) so always ask for Trade center for finger print and US consulate for visa interview (Near Trident hotel/City bank etc).I have noticed that lot of ppl had issue with this bcz both the address says BKC

Now the status has been changed as "Issued"

My wife's status changed the next day to Issued. Monday morning interview. Wednesday evening the visa was ready for pickup (interview and pickup both in Delhi).

interview letter says bring updated federal income tax information in case of federal income tax extension... keep a copy of your last 3 yrs income tax return (IRS transcript ) and last two yrs w2's..

as i told you the person who has sent this mail has also informed something to embassy before your interview by mail or call etc.. thats y u had a long interview and these kind of isues which we had already discussed..this is exactly what i meant by my post

nothing was told to. The physician had a friend that my wife knows and that made my wife comfortable and came to know during the conversation.

Initially they are checking only VDRL blood test and if they found anything wrong in this then they will ask you to culture your blood and Sputum Test (Pls check the embassy medical instructions on this),so nothing to worry if they did NOT suggest any further test like culture or sputum test,urine test etc...
