  1. Hi,

I don't believe you will find medical insurance here without having a job. There is obama care, but you need to be working. There may be health programs in Texas, but it requires proof of income. I suggest you find any type of work once you arrive, then apply right away.

You need to think about how you willl answer those Affidavit Support questions. I assume someone is helping you with the affidavit support forms, The person that will financially supporting you when you arrive to Texas may be able to add you on their medical insurance.

I think this is good news if it's true.... your interview date is on November 6th at 8:30 and in 5 days you will get an e-mail confirming your interview date...

CC Sept12 2014 - we will all find out soon.

    guess it has started

  3. So the question for a few of us is if we will get the November interview date. The cut off for October interview was Sept 10th, hopefully all of us get November date.

Also, looking at timing and cost about having my family here all together. Airlline tickets in late November and December are so expensive, but it worth the effort.

I'm sharing NVC employee reviews as how they feel working there -

    QUOTE

"""I worked there for 3 years and it was the most depressing time of my life. I was an awesome worker there but yet lousy workers always got promotions and not the ones working hard. The managers treat you like garbage and if they can save a dollar by firing someone who has worked there 15 years or 1 year they will, I have seen this happen plenty of times.more... I urge people not to work at this place as it really can make your life miserable""

"This place will make you hate yourself. It is miserable. You are a robot. You are NOT ALLOWED under any circumstances to speak to other employees"

  4. Thanks for the info! I will phone tomorrow (my CC was Sept 10th).

    I have a question:

The medical appointment in Canada cannot be scheduled until I have an interview date (according to the receptionists at 2 different Dr's offices), but do they actually need the appointment letter to include in the sealed packet they provide? I hope to get an interview date over the phone and book the medical right away. I will probably have to wait a week to attend the medical anyway, so may have the letter in time, but I want to be prepare to argue with the receptionist to book my appointment straight away! Apologies if someone has asked this before, I've read the wiki and all of the posts in the Oct thread and I don't think I saw this anywhere.

    I am :)

Did you have a look at the spreadsheet by dwheels76, there's a few of us Canadians on there. Hopefully the NVC starts scheduling for us soon!Be

I believe you don't need an interview letter, all you need is the case number written on the doctor forms, that was my case my wife got her medical examination done without an interview letter. She gave the doctor/assistant the case number and that was it.

I know they prioritize the people that have interview dates next day or so...

  5. Hi everyone!

About to send IV supporting documents.

Police clearance: on the NVC website it says only a photocopy. Spoke with Rep on phone and she said must send original. What have your experiences been? Any checklists for not sending in the original?

    :-)

Each country is different, my wife is in colombia and we got the police clearance online through a website so it was a print out.

If you can get an original, I recommend sending the original to avoid any checklist, make sure you double check the documents before sending them over to NVC. It's better taking your time than rushing and getting a checklist afterwards

    Good Luck!!!

  6. We've learned that sometimes there's also a lot of luck involved. Hopefully it was a mistake on NVC's side and they realize it.

    Buena suerte!

I have a scan date of July 18th and NVC is still reviewing my package according to the NVC operator.

I have two applications (wife and stepson) - I will keep calling and asking ...

I believe the hold up is that my stepson application is still showing that i need to pay the $88 dollars for the AOS fees, but already paid for my wife, so I don't understand...maybe I need to pay for the two AOS applications

anyone that can shed some light about paying the AOS fees...

regarding el pasado judicial I got two documents, one from the website "Policia" and the other one we had to pay about 30,000 pesos...did it online, then I got a receipt...wife went to the bank and paid ...after two hours got a pasado judicial via e-mail...did send that as well.

I did not translate any document, not sure if i had to...

  7. I believe NVC is reviewing documents up to July 22nd now. :clock:

I don't know if they have begun reviewing applications on July 23rd (scan date) since I don't think we have anyone with that scan date on here.

The closest scan date is July 24th and we have Soloenta (IV and CC), Samreen (IV), and Yamil (IV).

I am July 25th so I'm expecting to hear something by the end of next week, maybe? Fingers crossed! :star:

My documents for Wife and Stepson were scanned on July 18th and still no word from NVC. I will call tonight.

  8. It's taking around 8 weeks to process your documents, this is why I was asking when your documents were scanned by NVC

I believe they are working on documents scanned on July 15th.

Also, It takes about a week after you send your documents to be scanned then you have to wait 8 weeks, long wait ....

Congratulation!! to the people that are getting their interview date scheduled.......long journey

  9. NVC will take longer than we expected....now they are saying it will take 60 days to review a document.

NVC timeframe approx 7-8 months or longer if you don't a checklist now.

    it's dragging...................
  11. NVC process is taking longer these days. to get invoiced and for the NVC to review the AOS and IV package is taking 5 weeks or 6 weeks if you get a checklist you need to add another 5 weeks, and two more weeks to get case complete and another 5 weeks to get an interview.

Total from the date you get a case number assigned to the intherview date is taking about 5-6 months.

all together from the date you send your I-130 is taking a full one year or more
