Hi all,
We have a slightly different, but related, situation. My fiancé's family was hoping that we could have a small, traditional celebration (nothing signed, unofficial) BEFORE leaving for the States, but AFTER receiving the visa. Still risking problems at POE or at that point in the process does it become a moot point?
My immediate inclination would be against it, but I know it would mean a great deal to his family, who will not be able to travel to the US for the official wedding due to - what else? - visa constraints.
Thoughts??

First of all, wooooohooooo! Very excited for the two of you, so glad that things finally came through! It's felt like an eternity, yes?
My fiancé and I are on exactly the same timeline as you (NOA1 on September 16th, called last Thursday - weird!), so quite heartening news for us, as well. I definitely agree that it's been difficult at times to watch others' speedy progress, but your post gives me some hope that we're not far behind...
Another poster confirmed a few days that TSC is indeed working on this date range (2nd week of September 2013), so my next question is for the rest of you who, prior to receiving your NOA2s, had been told that they were "currently working on your date range". Approximately how long from the time when they were "working on it" to when you received you actual NOA2?
Trying to manage our expectations and minimize the intensity of the highs and lows (wake up everyday full of hope that maybe you have that fated email, go to sleep every night severely disappointed), so it would be great to have an idea of the timing from your experiences. Thank God for this forum!
Thanks all, and congrats again Gargravaar!

Wow, you guys are speeding through this process - very exciting! Good luck with the interview, fingers crossed for some more good news for the September 2013 Filers!
Hopefully the rest of us won't be tooooooo far behind...

I know! I'm so excited for everyone who is cruising through the process, but it is difficult to see people move ahead on these threads while we're still at a standstill...
Trying to take it to mean that we can't be far behind?
If there are other September/October 2013 TSC-ers still waiting for their NOA2s, please do let us know. For emotional solidarity's sake, but also to see if perhaps together we can gain a bit more insight into where things stand. Anyone, for example, have a 5-month mark coming up who could put in a call to a Tier 2 rep? I plan on checking in weekly, but that means I won't call again until Thursday...self-restraint, self-restraint
Thanks, and hang in there!

Thank you guys for your comforting words, really nice to know that there are others out there who appreciate the psychological torment of the interminable wait...we're doing our best to be patient, but seriously reaching our wits' end! Though this has been considerably less surprising to my fiancé, who has dealt with the disfunctional bureaucracy of Morocco all his life and has come to expect little from government services as a result. Maybe I could have used a heavier dose of cynical disillusionment before getting into this...
The fact that the USCIS Case Status Check website is down is definitely not helping!
A couple of questions (mostly just to give myself something to do other than obsess internally : / )
1) For those of you who received NOA2, any rhyme or reason to when they arrived? End of business? Beginning/end of work week?
2) If we included our attorney's info in our petition packet, will he receive the NOA2 email first or will it come straight to me? (I got the unofficial NOA1, he got the full form a few days later)
3) I spoke with a Tier 2 representative on Thursday (see my previous update), and she said she made some kind of note to indicate that I'll be
traveling in a few weeks, which I understood to mean "expedite" (insofar as that word exists in any real way at USCIS). But I literally don't think
I have the self-restraint to last 2 weeks before checking in again (though, hopefully, it won't come to that!). When would you all say it would be ok to call a Tier 2 again? When do I need to get our attorney involved?Thank you, thank you for any wisdom/reassurances you can offer. We so very much appreciate it!

Hi all -
So a quick update:
Per your suggestions (thank you!), I called customer service and requested to speak to a Tier 2 representative regarding our case since we're 5mo+ from the NOA1 (i.e. past the estimated processing time). She transferred my call with no objection and I was put on hold for an estimated 62 minutes (ouf!). Then something miraculous happened. I decided to take my chances with the call-back option (you give your name and phone number and then call you when you get to the head of the line). Lo and behold about 45 minutes later, someone actually called back!!!! I was shocked, but pleasantly so : ) Use this option if it's given, for sure...
Anyway, result of the conversation being that apparently everything looks on track for our file (no sneaky RFEs lurking, it seems, yay!) and that they are currently working on EXACTLY our date ( i.e mid-September 2013) at the TSC.
I know some of you will remain skeptical because of Igor's list and all the petitioners with later dates who have already been approved, but hey, I'll take whatever leads I can get at this point. Officer seemed confident that we should be receiving our answer quite soon, so for those of you in a similar situation...fingers crossed for some good news in the coming days...Thanks again for encouraging me to call!

Hi fellow TSC-ers,
Just got off the phone with a Tier 2 rep (fiancé and I just passed the 5-month estimated processing time so it was time to make a call!) and she informed me that they are currently processing primarily September NOA1s...
Hope that helps...wish I could tell you they were moving faster than that! : /

Sorry, we're actually K-1...I must have entered it wrong in my profile!
Thanks for calling my attention to the error. Maybe with that corrected, maybe people might have more to say!
As for where we're at in the process, still waiting on our NOA2...5 months, 1 week after NOA1 and haven't heard anything. I called the service line and filed a service request, but even that will take up to 30 days they said.
Do you think it's too early to call back and ask for a "Tier 2 rep"? I heard others on the forum mention this option if you're really feeling like something's up. Judging by how far behind we are most other September filers, I'm thinking it might be time...
Thoughts?
Thanks!!

Hi again,
Hi September filers!
First of all, congrats to all who have received approvals, interviews dates, even visas for some of you!!
I'm wondering specifically about those with files at the TSC...my fiancé and I received our NOA1 on September 13th but haven't heard a peep since. I've been perusing some of these forums to try to get a sense of whether/when others with similar NOA1 dates, specifically at the TSC, have received their NOA2s.
If you fit into that category (NOA1 ~ early September 2013, TSC), I would be so grateful if you could share a bit about your experience or any useful intel you may have come by!
Thank you in advance for any insight you can offer!
The fact that I haven't had any responses to the above inquiry makes me think that we might be the only ones left in this thread that haven't received our NOA2. Is that right? Disheartening if so.... : (
If anyone has any ideas, either about what might be going on to hold up our petition in Texas or ways to move things forward that have proved effective in the past, I'm all ears!
Thanks, all!

Hey everyone,
My fiancé (Moroccan national) is currently working in Qatar, so we've requested that our application be forwarded to the US embassy in Doha rather than Casablanca. We provided a letter with our petition formally requesting this accommodation on the grounds of financial and professional hardship (round-trip airfare and the time off would be a tricky).
I was wondering if anyone had who has had experience with this kind of request could comment on 1) if the request was honored and sent to the requested embassy 2) if the request significantly slowed down the wait time during the Stateside part of the process.
Our petition is at the Texas Service Center, so especially those of you who were also processed there, we would be grateful for any insights you can offer...
Thanks so much!

Hi all!
Very quick question who has received an NOA2 recently:
Is there any indication leading up to the NOA2 email that your file is nearly through? Is there a flurry of updates, for example, on your USCIS case status page? Or does it arrive rather out of the blue?
Just passed our 5-month mark, and the last update on the case status dates back to October 7th. We're trying to manage are nerves a bit, and it would help to know if there are specific signs we should be looking for that approval might be in the near future.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you veterans can provide!

Hi all!
Grateful to have your input here! It sure beats speculating, just the two of us!
Just a quick update:
I called USCIS customer service yesterday to see what info I could squeeeeeeze out of them (since Avery Cates (thank you!) confirmed that I couldn't be penalized for it) and lo and behold I came out with very little information. All the rep was able to tell me was that background checks were complete and that our file was "awaiting next steps", whatever the heck that means! She didn't know what dates were currently being processed at the TSC but could file a Service Request since we had surpassed the Estimated Processing Time (5 mo). That guarantees an update within 30 days, but honestly I'm hoping to have an actual approval by then!
I would also be very interested to know if anyone has come across something like SoyDeEl is suggesting, a thread/forum/etc. dedicated to TSC filers. Anyone a bit more tech savvy than myself know how to set one up? It would be so helpful to try to decipher what's going on!
Until then, TSC filers, keep updating!

Good to know, thank you! Didn't realize that TSC was a new addition to K-1 process.
You mentioned calling to inquiry; I was planning to call this afternoon to see what information I could glean, but I'm wondering 2 things.1) Any thoughts as to whether inquiries can be interpreted as pestering and adversely affect your case?
2) The estimated processing time provided on the USCIS website (i.e. 5 months for K-1s at TSC) calculated from the NOA1, correct? Don't want to jump the gun...
Also, from your profile, it looks like you made it through this process alive and well - congrats!

Hi all!
Our I-129 petition ended up at the Texas Service Center, but I'm having trouble finding specific information (beyond the 5-Month Processing Time Estimate) re: what dates are currently being processed there. The Processing Times tab here on VJ provides specific dates for two other centers (far right side of the page), but TSC isn't listed for the K-1 visa.
Any insights?
Thanks!

Trixie, thanks for the suggestion! I actually had no idea that was how the numbering worked!
I tried the SRC numbers adjacent to ours and everyone else is at least approved, if not in post-approval activity phase. Am I to take this as a sign that approval is imminent or that something's gone awry with ours? Patience or panic???
I'm thinking that I will check in again with a Tier 2 rep this evening (it's been exactly 1 week since I called)...how do you all feel about that? Appropriate at this point to be making weekly calls or too pushy and I just need to cool my heels a bit longer?
I do very much appreciate having the VJ community to bounce these ideas off of!
