dzboy15 reacted to Pitaya in AOS - Can the birth certificate requirement just include the gong zheng shu (notorial white book) for birth certificates?
We submitted copies of my wife and stepson's white book birth certs for their successful AOS processing.

I have seen it done both ways. I have heard where folks that turn in a copy have gotten RFEs, while others have done okay. It seems to depend on the USCIS adjudicator.
When we got our marriage certificate we got half a dozen copies, due to the nominal fee of $3/certified copy. So we submitted a certified copy.
YMMV.
Good luck on your immigration journey.

My error....thanks and good luck.
Regarding your White Books, make copies of all pages. When asked, bring an original and a copy for comparison, leave the copy and keep the original. It can be difficult to get original copies from China.

White book will do.
In fact, try to get multiple certified copies of all (marriage, birth, and police) formal certificates
while you are at it, for possible future use.
We sent in the certified copy of married certificate.
Just few bucks extra...but give me secure sense of mind.
