  1. Very Bad Solution - Use Correction fluid

Best Solution - Fix the error on a computer and print it out. Even if some portions of the form are filled out by hand, you don't have to bother. The scanner will only read the typed out parts that appear in the barcode below. And mind you not EVERY field is processed in the barcode so regardless they still human-read the forms.

And according to their field manual (I don't have the link now but can check it up and update his comment), barcode pertain to only the page on which it is on, so for example, changing something on a different page shouldn't affect how information previously typed in other forms. Barcodes on forms are all completely distinct and that's how barcode technology works though.

    This was really helpful

    Thank you

Ugh, I didn't even think about that, for some reason I was thinking that every time you print off a form from the USCIS each form has a unique barcode and therefore if I printed off another page, I'd have unique barcodes for each of the pages and they might not process.

And yes, my FIL is being somewhat of a douche, and thank you guys for the help, my brain is so scattered I can't think properly!!

Hope everyone is having a good long weekend (if you're in the US) and thanks again!I

I thought the same-thing until I saw this post

  2. What exactly do you mean everything goes well.....you mean they didnt ask or bother you about any of that???.......whether red flag or not!.....how did yours go?

I mean I hope they don't see it as a red flag

I have not gotten an interview date yet so I don't know but I will let you know how it goes

I am actually thinking of amending it , and just sending my husband a copy to take with him to the interview

  3. There has to be a difference AmberG I have never heard of this at the Embassy in Egypt. But it is as should be you already went through the whole process should have to go through it again. Congratulations on the approval.

Oh I thought your husband got his green card and yes we should compare come here if you haven't yet

you to my friends list. :)

Hope you don't mind adding you Fatimahalzahra.

    :) it's cool

I will let you know how things go :)

I will be sending the AOS packet insha Allah tomorrow

  4. I started a thread asking this question so I'll wait until someone comes in and gives information. So far for 2013 I found 4 to 6 months, I pray not longer than that or I'll go completely crazy. : :crying::cry::crying: This is the thread, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/492223-egypt-interview-how-long-is-it-taking/

Yeah I read that somewhere too and I really hope it's not true

I am already going crazy and every time I think about the process in Egypt I feel so mentally exhausted

let me know how things go with you and I will keep you updated too :)

  5. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Feels kind of lonely being the only one :).

I just received a letter from USCIS stating they sent my I-130 to NVC so I'm a bit away from and interview. :(

Do you know how long they're taking for interviews, I read somewhere it's taking a long time. I'm hoping this

isn't true. I'll be saying a prayer for you that all goes well in the interview. Alhamdulillah.

Hahahahaaaaaa your so funny, I love it!  (F)

I just paid my AOS fee so it's still gonna be a while before an interview

The interview, I hear it's taking long too but I am not sure how long

  6. With the research I've done it seemed a bit pointless but I was curious. Oh well, more waiting smile.png

    Hey

I just saw your timeline and I was wondering if you have completed your case at NVC?

If you have, did you get an interview from the embassy in Egypt yet?

Yes you can qualify.I have done it my self and elhamdullah it was approved. You actually have a big chance

    Did you email NVC ?

how did you address your request

  7. You should get you money back from the tax preparer first :-)

You can file the amendment now, and send that to NVC along with the other documents. You don't need a response, just file it and send the copy. Your transcript might not be updated in time, but having the copy of what you filed to IRS is more than sufficient.

    I know lol

I told him he made a mistake and we should get it amended and he said no amendments needed and that he asked and was told filing as single is okay

anyways, I will prob just wait it out and hope things go well and if something were to come up then I will juts amend it then

  8. In my opinion you can call nvc or

only called if you get NvC ask something.. otherwise you will be fine with single status..

And do amend tax return after your love come here.

    Hi, Waiting..

So what city your interview is going to held in india?

    you r very close now..

I think I am just gonna have to wait and hope for the best because the amendment takes long

What's interesting is that I called the tax preparer again to tell him he made a mistake and that we should get my tax return amended and he said he was sure he did it correctly and that he asked and was told it's okay to file as single

  9. The guy that files my taxes told me to file single because my husband is not in the U.S. so I did and now I feel like I am stuck because our case is with the Nvc and if I try to amend the tax return , it will take a while for them to respond with the amendment and all that so I don't know what to do ...do I call the Nvc and explain and maybe see what they say or do I just wait it out and hope they don't make it a big deal ? I didn't find out about the whole amendment thing until I saw a post about it

  10. I am not sure if anyone answered your question already. Original copy of PCC is required in the IV package.

Also, could you update your timeline when you get a chance?

    Thanks.

I called NVC twice and they told me they don't need an original of the PCC..They said I can present a copy now and just have the original for the interview.. but everything else needs to be original or certified copy..

Saylin advised me to send the original though so I told my husband to ship me the original but If I don't receive it on time, I will just send a copy

  11. Thank you

No worry .. feel free to ask we all here to help each others.. well ... process in Egypt is little long and slow .. because embassy there is always very busy......my whole process toke 1 y 2 m.

for the name hit .. read the flowing info hope it can help smile.png

    FBI Name Check Overview

All applicants for a U.S. immigration benefit, such as a green card applicant, are subject to criminal and national security background checks to ensure they are eligible for that benefit. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Federal agency that oversees immigration benefits, performs checks on every applicant, regardless of ethnicity, national origin or religion.

    The Purpose of NNCP?

The purpose of the name check is to enhance national security and ensure the integrity of the immigration process. USCIS is responsible for ensuring that our immigration system is not used as a vehicle to harm the United States or its citizens by screening out people who seek immigration benefits improperly or fraudulently. These security checks are used to identify applicants involved in violent crimes, sex crimes, crimes against children, drug trafficking and individuals with known links to terrorism.

    NNCP Function

The NNCP review and analyze potential identifiable documents to determine whether a specific individual has been the subject of or mentioned in any FBI investigation(s), and if so, what (if any) relevant information may be disseminated to the requesting agency. It is important to note that the FBI does not adjudicate the final outcome; it just reports the results to the requesting agency.

Name Check Database: Source of Data

The NNCP conducts manual and electronic searches of the FBI's Central Records System (CRS) Universal Index (UNI). The CRS encompasses the centralized records of FBI Headquarters, field offices, and Legal Attache offices. The CRS contains all FBI investigative, administrative, personnel, and general files.

    NNCP Process - Major Steps

The FBI NNCP conducts manual and electronic searches of the FBI's Central Records System (CRS) and Universal Index (UNI) for all instances of applicant's name and approximate date of birth in main case files or references. A main file name is that of an individual who is the subject of an FBI investigation whereas a reference is someone whose name appears in an FBI investigation.

    • Search Request

The agency/entity (UCSIS) submits a request to the FBI's NNCP. Submissions are accepted via magnetic tape, hard copy, telephone, or fax.

    • Primary Search

The electronic (batch) submissions are searched against the UNI. The majority of the batch names are electronically returned as no record with 48-72 hours.

    • Secondary Search

A secondary manual search is done for names with possible reference or entries from the hits (possible matches) of the primary search.

    • Manual Review

The remaining paper files and/or electronic files are reviewed to ensure they are relevant to the name check request.

    • Disclosure of Search Results

Identifiable files ("Idents") are then analyzed for relevant or derogatory information that may be disseminated to the requesting agency/entity (USCIS). The NNCP forwards a summary of the information of the individual to the submitting agency/entity.

    Explanation of Search Results
    • No Record

A no record indicates that the UNI database contains no identifiable information regarding a particular individual. By agreement with the Department of State, partially due to the concern about the time factors in approving visa requests, a "No Record" translates in to a "No Objection" to the issuance of a visa.

    • Hit (Possible Match)

If there is a match with a name in a FBI record, it is designated as a "Hit," meaning that the system has stopped on a possible match with the name being checked, but now a human being must review the file or index entry to further refine the names "Hit" upon.

    • "Ident" (Match)

If the search develops a name and birth date match of a hit, it is designated as an "Ident which is then analyzed for relevant or derogatory information.

    • Further Investigation is Needed

Additional review is required for searches that were not immediately eliminated as a "No Record" due to a name and birth date not being enough to positively match the file with an individual. A secondary manual search is done to determine a no record or a possible hit. The electronic and/or paper FBI record for these is retrieved and reviewed. Which is then determined a hit or no record.

    Name Check Processing Time

The majority of name checks submitted are electronically checked and returned to the submitting agency as having "No Record" within 48-72 hours. The processing time for FBI name checks usually take from 30-120 days but timing does vary from case to case. The FBI's intention is to have all visa requests processed within 120 days. Most name check requests that are over 60 days old are the result of the time required to retrieve and review field office record information. Any case which is not processed within this time frame is usually delayed because of a potential "hit" (match) which will be further reviewed manually.

    Major Name Check Requesting Agencies

The FBI's NNCP Section provides services to more than 70 federal, state, and local governments and entities. Although most name checks are conducted for each agency on a first-in, first-out basis, the contributing agency determines the order of resolution for priority, project, or expedite cases.

    • U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

Submits name check requests on individuals applying for the following benefits: asylum, adjustment of status to legal permanent resident, naturalization, and waivers.

    • Office of Personnel Management

Submits name checks requests in order to determine an individual's suitability and eligibility in seeking employment with the federal government.

    • Department of State

Submits FBI name check requests on individuals applying for visas.
Not all visa matters require FBI name checks.

Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIPA) vs. Name Check

Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts (FOIPA) requests are sometimes confused with name check requests. FOIPA provides copies of FBI files relevant to a specific FOIPA request. For FOIPA, the FBI search uses the name or information as provided in the FOIPA request. A FOIPA search determines whether there is an investigative file associated with an individual a main file search. For a name check, main files and reference files are both checked, in addition to searching a name in a multitude of combination.

  12. once you have your interview even if you told that you approved you go to AP ... some cases stay few days some cases stay for one month to few months ... for my case went to AP after the interview for 28 day's then approved el hamdullah.

Name hit it means that his name same like Terrorist name or someone criminal.

First name or full name you mean ?

because if it's first name then everybody will have a name hit lol since 90% of Egypt is either Ahmad or Mohammad

what did you think of the whole process in Egypt? was it smooth or complicated ? and how long did your case take after you got your I130 approval ?

(Sorry for the too many questions)

  13. Yup wink.png To keep yourself busy, get the two packages ready and review them everyday to see if you can catch any mistakes (since a checklist will cost you about a month).

I already did my package, gathered tax documents, employment letter, etc ..Just waiting to get the Joint-sponsor documents done too..I also told him to get the PCC and mail it to me so I'm waiting on that too

will they need his signature on anything ? (maybe I can send him now and he can mail with the document he will mail to me) or will the documents he will need to sign come later on in the process?

  14. Only I can update the spreadsheet and only if people tell me there's anything new.

You can if you wish, but I'd suggest just calling once a week or so as it'll be awhile before anything happens.

Joint sponsors can only be US citizens or residents. So, the beneficiary's parents won't be able to help if they're citizens of Pakistan.

You either need to find a joint sponsor or get a job that will cover your household size.

    Thank you, Saylin

I guess I just gotta be patient

  15. That is WAY too soon for a case number! Looking at my spreadsheet, looks like NVC is assigned case numbers to those with received dates in the last week of January. You've still got at least a month to go before you get a case number...

-I saw the spreadsheet :) But I was hoping that some people just forgot to update or something lol..I hate this waiting game .I am thinking I should just go overseas and wait it out with him over there that way it's less stressful

-My case was approved on the 27th , should I call now to check if they received it ?
