  1. i checked "yes", cuz i do wanna work once im there....if i get my visa before i retire

oh, i assumed he/she is filing for a IR/CR... if its a different kind of visa he/she should ignore my last post!

Oh, I checked your timeline more closely, it says you filed for I-130, spouse visa? It will be CR-1 or IR-1 visa. Then of course you may answer you intend to work as you will be able to work right away after you enter the USA. It is immigrant visa and YES, it gives you permission to live and work.

Yea its IR-1 visa .... cheers my dears.

    Good luck for your interview.

  2. Not true. It shouldn't be an issue as it shows bona fide marriage. My husband lived with me in my home country while being on the process of CR-1. He left back home after I received Case Complete from the NVC (CC May 13th, interview scheduled June 3rd, interview date July 28th). If you have a joint sponsor everything should be alright as your wife, probably, not earning enough to financially support you while living with you.

    It is my 2 cents.

    Hey Olee,

Thanks for the advise. Yes we have a joint financial sponsor.

Also, what do you think is the right answer for "Will you work once you are in the US" ?

As obviously I will be looking to work once we immigrate.

  3. Hey Everyone,

I have a question. My wife is my petitioner and has been residing with me in UAE for the past 2 years. I have my case approved from NVC and awaiting for an interview date.

Do you guys believe that her staying with me will be an issue in the interview as I have heard that people who have their spouse residing with them don't get their visa approved.

    Thanks.

  4. To my Dear VJ fellow's

I received a letter in email stating all documentation for nvc processing has been completed and they will let us know about the interview date. I am guessing that this the CC which I have been waiting for a long time.

I cannot thank you all for being there whenever I needed you guys, specially a big shout out to Saylin who's efforts has helped many of us.

I will keep you all posted about the interview date when I receive it.???????????

  5. I'm on day 29/30. Getting close, so I called NVC at 7:00 AM. 30 minute wait, but got through. No case complete yet, she said "at least 30 days", and that it could be a little over, but that they are currently keeping up at about 30 days still.

Also, we submitted form DS-260 April 17th and it hasn't been reviewed yet. She said its generally 30 days, or they'll do it with the case review. I guess we got our payments and application in right before the problems came up so haven't been affected by that.

    Hi Nicole,

I am in the same boat as you 30/30 days yesterday. Thinking about calling NVC today.

Just a general question, When I try to check the status on ceac web site (After entering my case number) the message window pops up "Please follow instructions you received from NVC for the next step of the application.........."

Does the same message appears to you as well when you check your status on ceac site?

  6. Hi everyone.

Quick question about the visa package. The NVC says they only want copies of documents. Does that also apply to the I-864 form? I only need to bring the original of that form to the interview, along with the rest of the originals?

I was finally able to log on and submit the DS-261 yesterday, but can't pay the AOS fee yet. Now that their system seems to be slowly coming back up I wanted to send the package out in the next few days, and I've been told by them that it's alright to send the package without having paid any of the fees. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Original forms with copy of documents.

  7. Visit visa is normally rejected when you cannot provide enough proof of your finances and that you will return back to UAE.

I will suggest to have a strong bank statement and provide proof of ownership/job in the UAE.

  8. PLEASE HELP!!!!! THIS IS THE CHECKLIST I GOT TODAY.. WHAT DO THEY REALLY WANT? I DID SEND THE 2014 TAXES FROM MY SPONSOR. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ARE THEY REALLY ASKING ??

[x] In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Item 13.a. You must include your ______2014_____________________________ tax and income information. [x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

    Hey,

I received the same checklist. Did you send the petitioners 2014 tax return? My wife is my petitioner but we have a separate financial sponsor. Make sure the 2014 income is mentioned on I-864

  9. it's your choice to include your husband's income for Part 6.a. If you do, then, you have to send your husband's employment letter with salary details OR his recent 6 months of pay stubs along with your I-864. If your joint sponsor's income meets poverty guideline requirements, then I recommend not to include your husband's income since the joint sponsor's I-864 is complete.

For your income, you have to enter '0' for your income since you are residing outside the US and not working.

As per Saylin, " for petitioners living and working abroad, put $0 for the question on current income (unless your income will continue, then put the amount). In either case, include an employment letter with all the details and if your job will NOT continue, make sure it is stated as such in the letter. It'd also be a good idea to mention this in the cover letter."

    Thank you for your reply.

My father (Who is the joint sponsor) meets the poverty guidelines in his I-864. On calling NVC the representative mentioned to write my husbands salary in Part 6.c as he is my household and write mine as $0. Do I still need to provide them with my husbands employment letter stating salary ?

  10. Hi Everyone,

I just called NVC regarding my checklist and i am not too sure about the information that was given to me. Can you guys please help.

NVC just requested my 2014 tax return and my income information. As i am residing outside the US and not working the NVC customer service agent asked me to put my husband's projected income of 2015 in Part 6 Section 10 of I-864. Which seems a bit odd.

The joint sponsor is my father and NVC informed that his I-864 is complete.

Question: Do i really need to put my husband's income on my I-864, Part 6 section 10 (my current annual household income)?

    Thank you

  11. Hi Guys, any update from NVC on their current processing times? I see some of you have CC after 30days

Hey mate when I called a few days ago he just kept saying 45 days to me but yes some have already got a cc after a scan date as recent as March 23rd and April 1st from what I can see. There is always hope.

I haven't heard anything back yet as my 1 month will be completed on 23rd April. Lets hope for the good news everyone.

  12. Hey guys/Saylin... I need some advice. I have been in Canada with my husband (whom I'm sponsoring) and our three children. We are trying to decide whether the kids and I should return to Florida before his interview to prove domicile. I currently have the following to prove it without being in Florida for the interview

-storage unit receipts and history from last summer when I put all of our personal belongings in storage

-bank account statements and credit card statements

-voter registration/ maintained florida drivers license

-application to extend temporary visitor status in Canada

-letter from previous employer and boss stating their confidence and belief in my ability to obtain a job earning a minimum starting salary of $45000

    -current vehicle registration in florida

    -social security statement

-report of us citizen birth abroad for our daughter born in canada last summer

-statement from mother stating we are more than welcome to stay with her for as long as needed to ind a suitable rental or purchase a home

    - emails from schools for registration of our children

    -former auto insurance emailed quote

Just curious if anyone can tell me if this will be enough or if I physically need to go back to the states with our children before the interview in Montreal. I don't know if this matters, but we do have a joint sponsor. Thanks!

    Hi,

We provided similar documents for my wife as she is the petitioner and is living with me in ABUDHABI.

Add any utility bills if you have any back in the US.

  13. Hey Everyone,

What are the chances that if the petitioner is not in the USA but shows all proof of Domicile the case can be rejected as the intended immigrant is residing with the petitioner at the time.

I mean they have a domicile section for a reason in I-864, to cater citizens who are residing outside the USA but I have heard from multiple people that if the immigrant is residing with the petitioner (Husband and Wife) then the visa will be rejected.

Anyone has any experience in this scenario?

Thank you and good luck peeps.
