  1. Very sweet!@@

    XX

It has really helped us too, just knowing you aren't alone is a big thing, and being able to estimate stuff, it realllly helps big time!

I am going to call NVC tomorrow- will be my 4th call to them. I don't call often, only at prime opportunity times- this time i want to know if our checklist items have been scanned in :)

I'm going to be totally sappy right now. But I feel like I have to say this, and I hope there are a bunch of others who happen to agree with me! :goofy:

I honestly don't know where my husband and I would be without the support of this forum. These have been some of the most difficult times of our lives (one year and 2 days since NOA1 now) and before this, I felt so incredibly lost and alone. No one outside of the immigration process understands what we go through every day with the phone calls, the paperwork and the endless stress and sadness. I'm so thankful to have such a strong support group of complete strangers to help make it day to day. I refer to all of you by your VJ handles when I talk to my husband. It's like we know you. And all I want is for everyone to make it to the next step to be with their loved ones. You're like family now.

My best vibes are sent out to everyone still waiting for a CC, down to those who just got NOA1 with USCIS. So thankful I can say that to the only people in the world who know what all those letters and numbers mean!!!!!

    Thank you (L) (L) (L) (L) (L)

  2. Case complete! Are you serious? The lady was super nice and said my case is complete. I should get an email soon. Turns out they DONT need the original both cert. so I just wasted $100! Oh well, I have to send a corrected I-184a form to my husband to bring to the interview anyway so I guess it's not a big deal. I am shaking with relief!

    Wow cool nice surprise!! congrats!

So, did you say earlier you got a checklist for the birth certificate? but then they gave you CC anyway before it arrived?

  3. Just found this thread today. Reading through is both comforting and discouraging! Congrats to everyone who has interview dates! I am the petitioner and am living in the US since last year, hubs lives in Romania still. Took 6 months to get our NOA2, 7 weeks to get to NVC, and it's been another 8 weeks since that point. I've gotten 3 checklists so far (ha! Not counting all the false ones!), the first was for not putting N/A on one line of the I-864A, the second for additional tax returns, and now the latest one for hubby's original birth certificate even though I send a certified copy. :( Every time I make a reasonable time in my mind that my husband and I will be reunited we get delayed once again. So I guess I should just focus on hopefully being together by the end of the year in order to not be disappointed! :D Okay enough of my whining I know a lot of people have waited more than me.

    I do have a question:

I will be mailing the birth certificate as soon as I get it, hopefully Monday! How long will it take for NVC to get that in my case and take the checklist off? Could it really take 30 days? Makes me feel sick just thinking about it. Any way to speed it up?

Crossing my fingers I don't get anymore checklists. At this point I feel like I have to be prepared for anything.

I got three checklists, too!! All for BS reasons. Normally it takes about two weeks for them to review checklist responses. My first checklist response took two weeks, the second too just two days, and now I'm waiting on the third.

    --

Tico- I got that same email. Twice.

Eugh i feel for you both. I had no idea they can checklist you more than once! We got one.. but have not even considered getting more- wow, why don't they just send one so we can deal with all the issues at once??

  4. Try calling right at 7am EST- i usually get someone pickup by 7.20am if i call then.

hey guys i needed some help my i 130 was approved on 10 march 2014 and its been almost 2 months and i havent recieved anything from nvc

so i emailed them few weeks ago and i finally got a reply saying that i should fill ds-261 form online but the thing is i dont have my nvc case number yet which is needed to fill the form, I tried calling them a few times but no one ever picks up please let me know what i should be doing now

your help would be highly appreciated

    thanks

    Congrats!!!! So exciting!

    called this morning and...

    CASE COMPLEEEEEEEETE!!!!!!!!

still hope for a June interview in London?? Pretty pretty please?!?! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

LoveMyTico, we got our checklist items in on the same day.. I am willing us both along! This is my guess: May 22nd CC :goofy:

CONGRATS !!! I hope you get a June date !!

  5. As far as I know, they got denied due to some past criminal issues (on the beneficiary's part). The beneficiary (a Canadian by the way, trying to enter on a K1 visa) said they disclosed it at the embassy, so they knew about it, but the border officer claimed otherwise. So, he ended up getting married to the petitioner and then they filed for an IR-1/CR-1 visa. I believe they were put into AP after the interview, but not sure of the outcome as this was a couple of years ago.

To me, it just sounds like the border officer was a ####### and on a power trip, but obviously, we may not know the whole story.

I feel the same way and when they approve you at the Embassy they can still after you pay the plane ticket say well you have to go back. #######!

EUGH i find that so scary!!!!!

  6. Sorry, that sucks!

OK - I've got some answers. Not the ones I wanted, but enough to get me on to the next step.

I got a checklist this morning. It was asking for the Australian Police Certificate. It sent a list of instructions for how to GET a police certificate, including the sentence:

If you are applying through the New South Wales or Queensland Police, your police record will be sent directly to the US Consulate in Sydney.

And then gave me the standard cover sheet and told me to mail the documents to New Hampshire. Anyone else see a conflict here?

So...I called this morning during prime time, and waited a LONG time, but got to speak to Agent Abbie - she with the Noo Yawk accent (it was charming). She looked at the file, and was very puzzled by the fact that the case is NOT complete, because she said the code for the Queensland Police Certificate has a "P" in front of it indicating that is goes directly to the Consulate.

I said, "So, that means I have a "Case Complete" then, right?"

    She said, "No."

I said, "So how will I get a case complete from NVC if the PCC goes directly to Sydney."

She said, "There is something funny here. It is asking for two police certificates. Did she live anywhere else in Australia?"

"Yes," I answered. "She lived in the State of Victoria for 20 years.

"OK. Let me talk to a supervisor for a minute. Hold on."

    Waiting....waiting....waiting...

"Oh," said Abbie, coming back, "then she'll need to get a police certificate from Victoria."

    Sigh.

"Abbie," I said, "they are the same police certificate. You just have to apply through your state. And Victoria will not give a police certificate to anyone who is not CURRENTLY living in Victoria. It's on their website."

"Ah," she said. "Then send us a cover letter stating that Victoria won't give a police certificate. Then we can close this out."

Me..."Thank you so much, Abbie. It was very confusing, and I appreciate your help." (FUMING INSIDE - how come *I* have to prove that Victoria will not issue a police certificate??????????????????)

Abbie: "You are welcome. That was really confusing. Good luck"

    Click.

So...I have the pages printed from their website, and hopefully I can turn this around ASAP today.

This will set us back a good two weeks. No June Interview, for sure. And we already have tickets (changeable, thank goodness) for July 7th to come back to the US.

    Sukie

  7. looks false to me, ours had another paragraph telling us they wanted court records, it was real.

I believe I have just got a false checklist but just wanted to be sure.

The letter was for the petitioner and it goes as follows:

"We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant
visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents
which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required
information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview....."

    On the checklist page:

    ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicants

supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be

reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

I have already sent the IV package. So it's the flase checklist, isn't it? Thanks everyone for answering!

  8. Thank you both! I appreciate it.

I did not get a checklist (yet) for our scottish marriage certificate :)

NVC sent Checklist at 1:12 AM. They used a different language or Font that i could not read and had to use Google Translate to read it. Is it common? This letter was sent as a reminder to the checklist they sent on April 30th. We responded same day. They don't open the emails and send a reminder in a language that you can't read. WXX?attachicon.gifNVC - Checklist screen shot.png

Crazy! there was someone in the april thread who got similar, they called NVC and were told to ignore it. I would call for sure

  9. yay happppy case completes!

  10. I just waited for 20 mins on hold with the NVC annnnddd (drumroll) got my case number and IIN!! :dancing:  Actually, they assigned it yesterday :):)

    This is exciting!!

A guy picked up the phone (didn't write down his name but I believe it was Shawn or something like that). He was very nice.

After giving him my CIS#, he said: "I can see that this is your 4th call to the NVC from a long distance number, which is: +58212....."

I was like :o  *gasp* THEY KNOW when we call and our location :bonk:

So... Since some people have said that Joy was nice and others that she was ‘miss nasty pants’.. Maybe she is nicer with those who don't call as much?? :huh2:

    Who knows xD

WOW they know how many times we call???? Glad i have only called 3 times ever. :wow:

Darling husband- the most fabbest- and handsomest, and best cook and funniest, and whom i love ( TEEHEE he might get a kick out of that if he checks this :rofl: )

just wrote this up for you guys and future people who might get a court checklist one day, this is Scotland btw

    - oh and the theft was for taking wood to build a skateboard ramp - naughty! and the other was an incident with a bouncer throwing a friend down the stairs. Hope he doesn't mind me sharing that, but i don't want you to think it was worse. oh btw he is smodsmithtv on youtube :) if you want to check out how handsome he is :)(L)(L)(L)(L)

Received checklist for court reports for 2 times I had been arrested, once for theft in 1990 and once for breach of the peace in 2000.

Our attorney advised we would be needing these reports for interview so I had filled in Access to Information form supplied on the Police Scotland website

(04/14/14) and sent it to the Police Headquarters in Aberdeen who passed it on to my local Police Office.

Got a reply from Police Scotland 04/22/14 stating they may have information held on microfiche but would need specific dates to locate it. I don't remember specific

dates so called the court office in Dundee for advice and they recommended writing to the Procurator Fiscals Office (PFO),for court reports. The PFO called me 04/28/14

to say they had a partial record of the 2000 offense but they didn't give out certified letters to that effect. I called the Dundee Sheriff Court Office again and by this time they had found a

partial record of the 2000 case and had contacted the PFO for the remaining info. They had no record of the 1990 offense. They were able to give me a certified letter, based on information

I had given them, to the effect that the theft in 1990 was dealt with by a fiscal fine and was not a conviction, and the arrest in 2000 went to court but the case was dropped and no further

action taken. Letter sent to Attorney by DHL 04/30/14.

  11. Sorry :(

    I know how it feels.

    Good morning all!

Nice to see progress with so many cases. I unfortunately received a Checklist, a real one that is.

    I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist
[x] The Affidavit of Support is an important legal contract between you and the U.S. government. During our review,
we identified one or more sections that were either incomplete or contained incorrect information. Please review the
additional instructions below then complete and submit a new Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864
    form and instructions at http://www.uscis.gov/i-864.
    [x]
In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...
    [x]
In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following...
    [x]
In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following...
    [x]
In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following...
    [x]
In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...
    [x]
In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...
[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal
income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.
So I am assuming a new I-864 form needs to be filled out with the correction and sent ASAP. The paralegal that I am working with must have done this wrong but if you do this all the time, shouldn't you know how to fill this out already? Really annoyed! :bonk: And super upset.
No more dreams of a June interview.
  12. Same here LOL

Congrats to all the interviews!!! Was glad to see that when i woke up :)

Add me to the list of members with compulsive VJ behavior! :P Before I even get out of bed in the morning I'm reading through all the email notifications I received overnight.

Congrats to everyone with an interview assigned so far, I hope many more of you receive good news this round -- including case completes in time to get in on June scheduling :)

  13. I've got all the details in my profile, since the VJ timeline feature isn't so useful for all the interim steps we have at NVC :)

We had case complete on April 3, which was the last day of "round 1" scheduling for London interviews as far as I can tell. They told me that day (Thursday) they were still scheduling, but by Monday they said they were done. Then on Wednesday April 16 I and another London VJer, D&S86, got our interview dates for May.

    That was fab!

  14. CEAC never shows when a form has been accepted, only that it's completed. There's no update beyond "completed" until it changes to "on file at post" after you get case complete. The status page is really pretty minimally useful, until/unless you get to a point where you're trying to time your medical with your case's arrival at the embassy.

BOS, I don't see your unabridged timeline anymore in your timeline ? I was just curious about your interview scheduling- you were the person who got a london interview scheduled on the 2nd round right?

    Thanks

  15. Your husband is definitely the man of the hour! Give him a shout-out from all of us.

Thank you!! Yes BEST husband ever! (apart from all your own husbands for you too)

He just kept asking and had to be bounced back and forth 6 times- but luckily the nice person at the first court is sorting it all out- even though she said no at first she went back and did some calling herself over the last couple of days and figured the problem out. YAY

  16. I read another members post that said the DS-260 will eventually change from "complete" to "AP".....

At Post when your package is shipped and has arrived at the consulate

Is that at the payment portal where we paid our fees? I never thought to look at that again.

I agree, I am much more impatient that the first stage part- probably because I did not know about this website until NVC- and now I can SEE everyone advancing it is pretty exciting!

I'm feeling smart :)- i figured out how to make a spoiler signature.

  17. yahoo! the court sent us to the other court (fiscal) then they couldn't do anything, and now back to first court, and finally they are going to write us the letter we needed!!! Which says something about no convictions bla bla) YAY Husband gets it at 3.30pm then straight to DHL to send to lawyer- then to NVC. Back on track :) Not gonna hold my breath, but maybe just maybe, they will review it by Friday, and give us Case Complete by next week or following in time for 2nd round of June interview scheduling for London!
