  1. Hi all...

My receipt date is May 9th 2016, still nothing. I am not worried quite yet but if I haven't heard anything by Christmas I may start too!

We moved address back in July back in July and I used the original receipt number when changing address not the 2nd one issued on biometrics letter. I called and they said both numbers could be used and I did get a confirmation email saying my address had been changed so I'm guessing everything is ok.

I'm hoping we don't get an RFE but I am slightly concerned because there are items of evidence we do not have. Basically my wife is the main breadwinner in our family and she earns a hell of a lot more than me. I'm a session musician (sigh)... She pays the majority of bills etc on her own. Anyway, I still think our list is fairly comprehensive.

Joint tax returns for 2014 and 15

lease contracts for apartment with both our names for both years

Car loan with both our names for the car I got when I arrived in the US

Both names and address on registration of such vehicle

Me as beneficiary for wifes 401k

Me on wifes medical insurance and life insurance

Joint current account (little activity as this is used as a odds and ends account)

Contract with Universal Studios for annual pass

Claims made by myself on wifes medical insurance... dental etc

Travel itinerary with both our names

Lots of photos spanning 10 years...

And maybe some other stuff I cant remember

Fairly comprehensive but the only concern is that it is a bit one sided with my wife in control of most of it. But that's just the way it has worked out and we're perfectly happy.

    Thanks for listening guys.

I think your list is good. Better than ours, thanks for the item above that i bolded.. i can do that for our request for more proof.

We called the place today about it. they were not helpful!!

  2. Hubs is looking it up now on the forum..

one thing we can get is affidavits from people we know, there is a form to download on here that he just found.

Forgot to add to the list that we already sent: confirmation of enrollment in benefits from my HR listing him as beneficiary for life insurance. Also the mid-year election form for insurance 2014 to add him to my plans.

Everything else that is on the suggested list we already gave if we could. Really regretting not getting a joint bank account now. Just didn't bother because he didnt want to drive here yet and they wanted state id /driving license and we didn't have it at the time- still don't actually. Another thing we could add in when we send stuff apart from a bucket load of affadavits is copies of all the direct deposits he has made to my bank account.

Thanks for the idea on the notarized letter about the house- and the pay stubs idea.. def can do that this time.

If anyone else has any other ideas Please let us know! :)

  3. Requesting more evidence. Now I have to research what else to give, because we gave them everything we had.

    We sent:

Electric bill with both our names for 3 months prior to application

IRS tax joint tax returns for 2015 +16

Employer heath insurance form 1095.c - we get it via my work

Dental insurance card copy of both sides- both our names

My work- benefits- tuition remmision for spouse, via HR

Flights for both of us back and forth to scotland and domestic too

    3 pages of photos

Not sure what else to send now. Will have to call them up. Unless anyone here has advice.

  4. AWWW nahhhhhhh!

We just got a letter saying:

you have not established that the marriage ....... was entered into good faith.... some evidence.... bonifide... documentation insufficient...

When viewed in its totality it does not meet the preponderance of the evidence standard.

problem is we gave them all we could! I already own my house, and we have separate bank accounts. i thought we gave them a lot of stuff- a letter from my work saying he is on spouse tuition remission, joint healthcare, joint taxes, joint utility bill.

They have only given us until Feb, so am a bit worried since we are heading off for a month traveling this Dec/Jan.

  5. I would guess--

Yes closed, to their desk/operations inside the embassy.

Not closed, to their depots and other general deliveries.

If your visa got handed off and out of the embassy yesterday, it could be motoring along today.

If not handed off Thursday, then Monday would be the next opportunity.

As I said, just a guess.

Yeah, that is what i figured too. thanks!

  6. I'm glad that didn't happen to you with it getting cancelled! My husband is a stone throw from London, so he'd only grumble about having to sit on the Tube LOL

I already booked my ticket flr the 14th August, I never planned to be at the interview since it's not required. And spending our anniversary together is more important! His plan to arrive in the US 2 weeks after interview.

Did you book your ticket to the US before the interview or did you decided to wait? My husband and I are at odds about that lol

Does it take three days for the courier services in London to send back the passport for pickup? Just want to know so that we can book my husbands flight ticket to the USA.. Three more days till interview... The big day is July 7

We booked our tik before, but we didn't really understand how long it could take to get passport though, or about possible AP or embassy shuts, so prob wouldn't do it again. however if we make our flights, we will end up saving a few hundred, as we got his for 730 pound BA flights edi-lgw LGW- MCO, which is a good deal, we bought through a travel agent, who have a 450$ change fee, ick.

regarding delivery of passport lucky girl, it does seem to take 3 days, however someone on here had theirs take 8, maybe got a wee bit lost, so no guarantees. Good luck for interview!!
