Each petition is separate and stand alone. At the time of completing the I 864, you aren’t sponsoring anyone .. they are applications only .. so for each I 864 your household size is 5...  you, your spouse , your 2 children and the parent  that this 864 relates to

Oh Got it.. will keep that in mind. Thank you so much!

No prob 🙂 I’ll be honest I was a bit scared traveling especially because my petition was approved and sent to the NVC but the officer was really nice and I was honest, I told him where I was in the process and all and he even honestly told me that this process can be long.

True I mean they really intend to return back to the Philippines after 3-4 months, as they will book their flight with a return ticket.

You need to find out what the 125% income  level is..you will be sponsoring each parent separately so, on the affidavit of support for each one , your household size is 5 not six. If you were to bring them here one at a time , and already have a parent whom you have sponsored here when you complete the second I864, then the household size for that second parent would be 6

You also need to consider how they will pay for medical

    insurance etc, as they will

    face the public charge test.

I’m filing for both my parents at the same time. So how should I count my household size? I read from USCIS website that for a household of 6 is 43k.  I know the public charge test is another thing to worry about. 😞

Hi, i have a pending petition that was approved on December 17,2019 and I recently travelled to the US a week ago and I had no problem at the POE. My husband is a LPR and since my petition has been filed in February 2018, I’ve travelled to the USA multiple times. I think it’s important to note that I have a daughter who is a Permanent Resident and she resides with me in our home country so I travel with her often to visit her father (my husband).
I have always heard that once a petition is filed then it’s harder to travel but so far I haven’t had any problems so maybe your parents won’t.
good luck to you guys. 🙂

Oh thank you so much for this!🤗 Means a lot to hear based from a true experience than hearsay of people from my home country.

As long as they have ties back to home they will be fine.

Hello again, is it possible that the immigration will not allow them to enter US because they have a pending petition? Because I need my parents to be here and help me with my kids for me to be able to work and have enough income(already including husband’s income) for the time I have to submit the affidavit of support.

  6. Hello,

I am planning to file a petition for both my parents next month, but would like also for them to come visit us this year maybe atleast for 3months. They already have multiple entry tourist visa and have been here in the US 2017 and 2018. Is it possible for them to use the tourist visa after I file for their petition? could someone please advise.

    Thank you in advance!

  7. Thank you.. at least i know its pretty normal... im so confused and quite disapponted i thought its only me who experienced that... what can i do? I want to request to reschedule it earlier but when i called the usem there's no available date..oh by the way, the letter is from usem and says that they are all rescheduling all those who have interview on april 29 because visa services unavailable on that date..

I received that letter too telling that my interview date will be moved from April 29 to May 9. But I have already rescheduled my interview through online to 1st week of April. Check this website https://cgifederal.secure.force.com or

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-appointmentschedule.asp

Check it from time to time you will get an earlier date. Just be patient.

  8. I would have updated I-864, W2, 2013 tax forms or transcripts and most recent paystubs just in case. Whatever was submitted at NVC should be in a folder at interview just in case.

I think it's best to have more papers/documents ready during the interview to be sure..So for me, I just prepared an updated I-864 with info of my 2013 tax return and included my 2013 tax transcript just in case they ask and before that, I already made a copy of the AOS package too that I sent to NVC few months ago.

Thank you dwheels76 and enzo0601!! I agree with both of you. it's better to be ready with more documents!

Btw dwheels I resched my appointment and got an earlier date for April 7!!! Yay 2weeks to go..................

  9. Not necessarily. Some petitions don't go out for a week or two. To know when they ship you have to call NVC if you just have to know. My petition went out 10 days after interview scheduled.

You are right dwheels Philippines has lots of petition to process... Coz I was thinking of rescheduling my interview. Guess I'll just wait then.

Yes it should be showing "IN TRANSIT" by now. Mine showed next day when i received my P4.

Nice!! I was really hoping to see that the next day I received my P4..

woohooo my petition is in transit to the embassy woohooo dancin5hr.gif

    Congrats!! dancin5hr.gif

  10. FYI for the Filipino folks, they requested our CENOMAR because my wife's birth certificate was a month late being registered, so she needed the CENOMAR as another source to verify that she was indeed who she says she was. It's nice just knowing the reason and getting some clarity/closure on the issue. So now we patiently wait. So FYI if you're BC is a later register in PI, submit a CENOMAR with your CEMAR. :-)

Thanks for sharing that information JWD531!
