Glad I'm not the only one then

We send our package April 10th so to the VSC. It arrived on the 13th but we still haven't gotten an NOA1 yet? Is this normal

Thank you! Yes my husband is from England, and we have a better relationship with his family. I read the instructions as stating that we have to get 2 affidavits. If family is allowed then I can ask my family to do so. We've moved 3 times since my husband got to America because of my job which makes it difficult to find someone who has known us throughout.

I read through some of the old topics on here but I am still a bit confused about providing letters from friends as proof of our relationship for the removal of conditions. I went through the K1 route.
I moved around a few times so I don't have friends where I am currently who have known me for the whole length of our relationship. If I do go the friend route I would have to ask one of our friends to write, notarized, and then mail us these letters. To that end a few questions...
1- Can the letters be from family members? It seems like family members are more likely to go through this whole ordeal.
2- Does the letter have to be from a US citizen?
3- Do they have to be notarized?

Im by no means an expert on this but I think that if you currently have a job you should be find and you would put your annual income. From what I've been reading its seems like it will be fine, because its based on current income. Good luck. I did not have to even have an I134 for myself just the cosponsor because the UK embassy is very leniant.

The medical can be scheduled right away. The interview comes about 1 month - 1.5 months after the medical, in my experience.

Got an interview date for sept 3rd, thought it would be sooner with everyone else news. but the 3rd is still soon!
-
Update as promised - I received my interview letter today - for next Thursday (14th) - eek! For anyone interested, my CEAC hasn't changed from receipt of our medicals on 29th July.
Congrats!
My status just got updated on the CEAC so I'm guessing 4-5 business days till the letter.

Somebody posted on here a while back, because he had booked a holiday outside the US before his medical thinking he wouldn't have had his interview and green card issued by the date of his holiday. I PMd him to ask about the time between medical and interview and he told me it was 6 weeks.
I had my medical on the 25th last month, so am expecting/hoping for my interview sometime around the 5th of September. I shall let you know how this goes if it's going to be of any help to you.
My fiances medical was the same day. Let me know you get your appointment letter, I'm guessing his should come around the same time.

Fiance had his medical last week, now onto the last part, waiting for the interview.

Same thread idea just two days ago, so not so old. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/507891-timeline-medical-date-appointment-letter-date-interview-date/
It's not working so well either. Maybe you guys can combine efforts and reel in the ones who will ask the same question next Mon., Wed. and Fri. here and in K1 threads. Just kidding...maybe not that often. I hope you get some participation. Many want to ask the question, but few come back to follow up with dates.
I was looking specifically for UK times, because I know they vary quite a lot by country. The threads I found were from early 2013 at the latest. If only timelines had an extra space for medical.
-
There a lot of old threads on this topic but I wanted to start a new one, because I'm trying to get some approximate dates for planning and housing etc...
I know it varies, so for the people who have been through this. How long after the Medical was your interview date?
Fiance just had his medical, but there was a bit of a slow down because he needed to get a vaccination before we sent it out (to avoid issues in the AOS stage) It got sent out to the embassy today so I'm thinking it should be 6 weeks - 2 months before he can get here.

Hi Everyone,
I called NVC this morning and luckily was able to get the case number. I have few questions regarding the NVC and next process.
I checked my status at CEAC website and it shows
"AT NVC - Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information."
I haven't received any paperwork? Any idea of what that could be? The lady who I spoke to over the phone from NVC she mentioned to me that they have received my application just two days ago.
Any more information on next steps would be highly appreciated. Thanks
The letter won't come until after it gets to the local embassy. But once you have your case number, I think you can start working on the next step depending on the country.
For the UK, its just a link to complete the next steps online. Not sure how it is with other embassies.
I guess others have answered your question already.

I think I read somewhere on here that there was a mix up and a batch did get sent to the wrong place. Not everyone thought, just a few small batch.
My petition took 3 weeks to get to the Embassy, and I think 30 days is the official wait time they say it should get to the NVC. Good Luck.

Will there be any change from checking CEAC when it has left the NVC? We got our case number on Monday but it still says "at NVC". I know how to track it on DHL, but will it change on CEAC?
CEAC will first say AT NVC, then IN TRANSIT, then it will say AT EMBASSY. We got our instruction letter 4 days after it said AT EMBASSY.
-
Well the UK one takes 3 months from NOA2 till visa approved at least. I guess because lots of people travel to America from there. My status is not in transit. And my fiance is changing his passport and getting around to do his paperwork on Friday. Almost there.
I just saw Texas raise the official processing times, so I'm glad I got in before the backlog got too bad.

I got my case number
-
So when I call and finally get my case number, can I start booking the medical, doing the online and readiness form or do I have to wait until it arrives at the embassy?
Also how long does it generally take from when you get the notification till the NVC receives it? I don;t have the time to wait on hold for 45 minutes everyday. I may try again Wednesday.

Yeah I was january 31st so offically over the 5 month period. Im going to call both schumer and gillibrand see who is more responsive and ill let everyone know
From my experience, the way to place an official inquiry for both are:
For Gillibrand - You write your letter over the webform, and then they will email you the privacy release form which you can fax over. I called to make sure they got it. And after a few days I also got an email saying they got my information.
For Schumer - The only way is through postal mail. So you write your letter and include a privacy release form.
My congressperson was the one who successfully got my case worked on and approved. Gillibrands office sent me a letter afterwards that I was approved too.
Good Luck.

I had the same. I had a typo in my address. It was the NOA1 though which I didn't need a hardcopy of they said the email is sufficient for evidence the received it. Have you gotten your physical NOA1 copy yet?
I called them to fix the typo, and when it came time for NOA2 and I got my NOA2 hardcopy no problem, 5 days after the status update on the site. If it was an RFE or NOA2, I think that your status would say that.
