  1. Hey everybody, this is really four questions, if you have an answer, that'd be great :) our I129F has just been approved, what's next?

    1. Will the petitioner received a package that he has to submit (our read that somewhere....but then I couldn't find where, so maybe I was just dreaming) or will the petition just go to NVC and then the embassy?

After noa2 it is sent to NVC for processing then to embassy

    2. How can we follow our petition now and check where we are?? Will updates be posted on USCIS.gov???

you have to either call the NVC to see if they have recieved and process your application if they have they will give you a case number which then you can check on status https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==

choose immigrant visa(IV) then enter that case number otherwise you can just wait to receive their letter in the mail which will have the case number on it.

IF it has been sent to the embassy already you may want to track further refer to http://www.visajourn...-to-us-embassy/ to try to find where your packet is although you might have to play around with the EXP date as it may be the day before, of or after it was sent

    3. Anybody from Germany, after your I129F was approved, how long did it take to get to the embassy? Our I129F took 5 months already...can't wait to move on.

    4. How do we even know our petition arrived at NVC? Do they send an email or something? We haven't received email when I129F was approved, that was exactly a week ago.

    same as question 2

  2. I don't think your understanding the process. She can come on a tourist visa and visit. She cannot stay in the USA longer than her tourist visa expires. If someday she would like to immigrate then yea her brother can begin the process. He fills out the proper forms and then they wait in line along with the other thousands of brother and sisters that have applied before them for her turn to immigrate. http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/visa-availability-priority-dates

  3. Anyone else fill out the DS-160? I expected questions about previous work history/residency/education but they just asked for current job and address. I have a mistake on my G-325a and I was looking forward to correcting it on this form :/

i helped my fiance fill out the d160 there was a section on education and work history you would click on +add another and it would give you places to fill out. we only went back as 5 yrs i believe we didn't include his work prior to that. I didn't think it was required.

  4. Really depends on you. Do you normally get a income tax refund when you file your taxes or do you normally owe taxes? I used to claim the absolute minimum exceptions so I would get a larger refund during taxes but then someone pointed out to me that technically you are lending the US government money with 0% interest. I changed my w4. My paycheck is larger but my refund is much smaller and I'm using the extra cash to invest in a 401k so im getting on avg of 10% back in interest.

  5. Hello my friend

I've read all the reviews from the Nepal consulate and you don't have anything to worry about. It seems like the questions are very simple and seems like they particularly enjoy photos more than anything else.LOL So I would say bring as many as you can :) If its a 5 min interview I'd say you shouldn't ask your fiance to come especially with his new job and all. You will do just fine because you are not hiding anything just tell the truth and they will approve your visa. It's not like Nepal is a high fraud country like other countries are. Remember he will be there with you in spirit to support you and so will we :)

  6. my plan of attack is i already have all forms AOS/EAD and supporting documentation pre-filled out as much as possible and ready to go. He arrives we get married, get marriage certificate in hand, go to ssn office get ssn, send in forms after triple checking, notify work of change of status and add him to my insurance, apply for community college while wait on EAD(might be too expensive but we will see), In Cali you can drive if you have a valid DL from another state or country. As soon as you get residency though you would need to apply for CA DL within 10 days. I'll have him start studying CA state manual though as soon as he arrives I dont want him to drive on the wrong side of the road lol.. he is afraid of that too haha.

  7. Hi everyone!

I was wondering if someone could answer my questions in as much detail as possible. Many thanks in advance!

    Timeline:

    NoA1: 02/04

    NoA2: 03/13

I received my hard copy of the NoA2. Now I know the next step is to wait for the NVC to give me a case number. I've gathered through this thread that I can try calling them for it. My questions are:

    1) Once I receive the case number, then what?

    2) Many people have mentioned that the ceac website says their case is READY. Ready for what?

    3) Being that my fiancé is in Afghanistan and the mail service there is unpredictable, can I sign up for communication through email? If so, how can I enroll?

    Thanks!

Once you have the case number from NVC you go to https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ check my application status choose Immigrant Visa (IV) enter the case number and it will say in transit once they send it to the embassy or ready if its there already i think.

If your ####### like me lol you may want to track further refer to http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/ to try to find where your packet is although you might have to play around with the EXP date as it may be the day before, of or after

then you have to refer to your fiance's particular embassy/consulate in Afghanistan how they work as far as notifying when they are ready for him to either pick up a packet or email or whatever.

Personally i think i will start helping him with the DS160 as soon as i get the official notice in the mail from NVC that they sent it even though i already know they did ;)

  8. Its your call from one of the pinned post on the k1 forum.

    G-325a, Signed or Unsigned? Unsigned.

WHAT? Ok I have seen the memo but lots of VJ members got RFEs for unsigned G-325s, what gives? They do not have to be signed, they can be signed at the consualte interview. Some adjusicators haven't read all the memos, we get hundreds of the things, and maybe they make a mistake. If you want to be sure there is no mistake, sign it. Or send a letter expalining why it is not signed and request it be signed at the interview. Do you have that memo?

It is on the VJ website somewhere You can print a copy of that and send it with the I-129f and G-325a.

Fiancee intent letter? Signed or unsigned? Signed.

What about a faxed or emailed signature? When I was adjudicating, if I could see a signature, I accepted it, but many adjusicators will not. Signed is better.

I can only talk of experience as a fellow k1 petitioner. My fiance is in Nepal. Imagine trying to get something sent from there! He signed it, his original signature. he scanned it and emailed it to me. i printed and sent it in. I did not get an RFE but as the pinned section says it depends on the adjuctor or whatever their called. What i did get an RFE for though was not including his letter of intent so don't forget to do both those ok? lol

  9. Ok in anticipation of my fiance going into interview. i sent him my affidavit and my tax forms and w2 but i was re-reading the instructions it does not ask for this type of evidence/proof they want a letter from your employer??

My employer does not make this type of request. They give out a generic 800 number to call and if they punch in my info they get verification of employment and pay if i authorize it. They don't do these letters? What do I do now?

Why don't they accept tax forms/w2?? what about paycheck stubs can i use that? Help has anyone come across this problem before?? Also do i have to provide financial documents like bank statements even though I am not using assets as part of my support?

I'm stressing please help me out here.

  10. yea i wouldn't recommend you do it the way your suggesting. Your giving them the benefit of the doubt to put two and two together like jay-kay states they are not going to get it.

You don't need the letter of intents notarized i'd do a separate letter explaining your situation and with both signatures on it stating that your both together in Canada and get that notarized. Although I haven't been here long I haven't heard anyone else try this before though.

  11. i am not an immigration expert just a fellow vjer, but i wouldn't risk combining two different documents. Do the 2 letters of intent from each of you ( does not have to be notarized). Then do another letter stating you are in fact in canada with him, have that notarized both your signatures and hope for the best?? or maybe you guys should take a bus trip or something somewhere together. it proves you were in the same location at the same time.

  12. Well definitely do not get pregnant at least not anytime soon. Remember once he gets here he will not be able to work or possibly even find work once he has permission. You have to support him for several months. There will be stress from coming here, filling out AOS, waiting for employment permission, and becoming accustomed to living with someone you have not lived with before are all stressful events. Prepare for k1 process by reading the guidlines and searching forums for previously asked questions and once your ready to send package if you have any doubts post and people will make sure you have it all covered. Good luck on your journey together.

  13. Hi everybody dancin5hr.gif !

We are waiting since january the 3rd, when we got noa1... It's been 2 months and 13 days, I hope we get some news soon... I am starting to worry a lot about it, we are trying to plan our wedding for the end of september, do you guys think it is enough time? unsure.png

Good luck to everyone and congrats to those noa2!

I would say September is a fair estimate and a good plan. :) good luck.

  14. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just got this txt at 10:45PM Your case is now updated... chkd online ..

On March 14, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice.

wooooohoooo!!!!! wow so much excitement and thrill running through my heart WOW... I am so thrilled and happy cant wait for the next step in this whole process..

but kinda makes me wonder how late do these ppl work or does the automated system just do it in batches. oh well.. anyway keeping all you fellow january pending members in my heart too. Put it in the Lords hands he will take care of it. :)

  15. Your ex may or may not get a green card. I am not a lawyer much less an expert at immigration. But at this point what does it matter now? He cheated you, lied to you, possibly physically and definitely emotionally abused you. I am really glad you didn't continue a relationship with this man. People cheat and people get divorced weather they were both USC or not it doesn't matter. Its over and you can move on. Pray for peace and love and understanding. You knew from the beginning this man was not a good man when he first brought up the coming to usa on tourist and getting married. Next time pay attention to not only to "the signs" but your gut intuition. Learn from this mistake and get help/counseling to avoid getting used again not only by a foreigner but any man. Now take a step back, reflect on how lucky you are to get him out of your life so quickly and let it go.

  16. Hiya January Filers!

I sent in the I-129F on January 9th (overnight express), and then my NOA 1 was sent on January 13th via text, and arrived in the mail on January 14th. Now to wait for the NOA 2! According to VJ, the time frame expires in just a few days....on March 13th, it will be exactly TWO MONTHS since we applied for a K-1. My fiancee and I are getting kinda depressed, because we see many who are February filers getting their NOA 1 and NOA 2 already.....while we still wait for the NOA 2. Ours is being processed at Texas, but it seems that many of the files Texas is approving so far is all from the Phillipines sad.png

We are planning a wedding in May, and I really REALLY hope we don't have to wait until the winter for his visa in hand. sad.png

I wouldn't be planning a May wedding maybe a July. Don't be depressed its a 6 month avg from beg to end. Its not too bad. But I don't blame you for hoping. I hope my fiance will be here in May also.. that would be greatdancin5hr.gif
