  1. Typically, they want INCOME -- If you had something like $60,000.00 in a bank account, that might have done the trick.

I do think that you got an interviewer who is not familiar with the assets portion of their form. There is a paragraph regarding the "net" value as well as being able to convert the assets into cash within one year. As well as the multiplier.

Did you have recent appraisals on your homes? The form does request that you have "recent" appraisals from a licensed appraiser. You did not say that you had recent appraisals of your property. If that is true, the interviewer would not have to consider the value of the assets as being accurate.

If I were you, I'd pay the extra $ to have the Co-sponsor's form sent to you via Fed Ex.

    Good Luck.

  2. NVC is backed up...so, it might be a little while before the packet is sent to Manila. People have been receiving emails from NVC saying that processing could be 60 days!

You can go to the US Embassy Manila website and find requirements for K1 visa processing. Your fiance will have a bit of running around to do to assemble all the docs that they request.

Would suggest holding off on the Med Exam - that's a pretty simple step.

Make sure that she has NOA Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, etc.

Follow this link for more info on the requirements:

  3. Salamat :) mine says was sent to registered mail 7/30 i know how terrible postal service here is but if they use FedEx or DHL will only takes 2-3 days...i tried calling USEM this afternoon i just waste my prepaid load lol all they can say is press this number etc. i was thinking, what of i just go to the embassy? Like what i did when i ask for request letter before to apply for HK PC?

Yup! I would have thought that they would use FED EX or LBC or DHL...far more practical! Even by "packet" would seem to be more reasonable. I suggested to Gina that she pay for return DHL envelope to include with her PC request. But, she thought that there would be enough time and that it would be a waste of money or that the HK Police would not use the pre-paid return envelope. I do that here if I need to get an immediate response from a government agency.

The times that Gina has called the Embassy she has been able to get through to talk to someone. But, the answers she got were usually general. Understandably, the Embassy is overwhelmed...they can't answer everyone's little questions. So....we wait and wait and wait!

Not sure if you'll get anywhere trying to go to the Embassy...although, that seems like the most logical next step! Arghhhhh! It's frustrating when you can't get answers or information.

    Stay in touch.

  4. Wow it took really that long? Mine was just being sent to the consulate last 7/30, i sent my request before end of May, but they return it to my fiancee 6/23 and re-mailed to them the same day! i''m gonna cry, your wife's pc was sent 7/9 and yet still not on their file what more of my PC?

Yup! Have no idea what the hold up is. Hong Kong sends packages to the Embassy via registered mail...which doesn't mean much except they should get a receipt indicating that the package was received by someone at the Embassy on a particular date. My wife is going to call a friend of hers in HK to call the HK Police Department to find out if they've received the return receipt to find out what date it was actually delivered to the Embassy and who signed for the package! Seems that there were others who have similar issues with PCs from HK.

Once we know when the PC was delivered to the Embassy - it will be hard for them to tell us that they haven't received yet when we have proof of delivery. Not being able to do much more than that is frustrating. My wife ordered her PC from HK in June..and, as I've said before, they sent it out on 7/9. The mail system in the PI is one of the worst! I've sent cards to my wife in Manila and some of them took as long as a month to get there from the US! Crazy!

I hope that all of this is over very soon for you and yours as well as for us so that we can move on with life!!!

    Ingat!!!

  5. Hello i hope u have your PC at the consulate already, mine i keep on sending them email asking about my PC clearance it took 1 month and 4 days to complete and forward to the embassy.

Thank you Gemini i am trying so hard to keep my patience its just hard lol

When did you request your PC from Hong Kong?

Hong Kong sent the PC on 7/9 - would hope that the Embassy has received it.

When you say it took a month...do you mean the amount of time for Hong Kong to process and send your PC or do you mean from the time that the Embassy received it from Hong Kong? PC's from Hong Kong usually take 3 - 4 weeks to process. Just wondering how long the Embassy will sit on it before completing the Visa?

    Thanks!

  6. My wife is in the same situation...Approved but got a 221(g) for Hong Kong PC...Hong Kong said they maileded it to the Embassy via registered mail on July 9. My wife's interview was 7/25 and the Embassy said that they didn't have the PC. As of 7/28 they still didn't have it. They said that they'd notify her when they get it. Well...I would assume that 3-1/2 - 4 weeks would be plenty of time for the Embassy to receive the PC and then put it into her file. She's calling them tomorrow to find out if they've received/processed it yet. VERY frustrating!

  7. Hello VJ!

Received NOA2, while waiting for MNL# i want to print out our conversation.

Is it okay if i will just print out our conversation from the time we apply the petition up to present?

    Thank you.

We just selected a few conversations...topics on future plans, marriage, romantic notes...

I'm sure that they probably looked at a few of the things that we sent but, they didn't ask to see them at the interview. But, it is a good idea to have it as evidence of your relationship. Also, phone records, cards sent, etc.

Sounds like you didn't provide too much info if you're just now asking about providing a print out of conversations...so, if you didn't have any of that in your I-129F/K1 package, they may ask for it at the interview.

Best thing to do is to be well prepared when going to the interview...

    Good luck!

You should fill out your timeline...

  8. I am living with my parents. They all got jobs. I living in manhattan, chinatown. city affordable house

Ok. Good! Would your parents be willing to co-sponsor you? It might be a good idea to get that started as soon as possible...just in case. The last think you'll want is to have your future bride turned down at the interview...

Seems that the CO's at the Embassy look at the "bottom line!" If they question it...BAM! 221(g) - refusal of visa - until they get additional paperwork...

    So...look into it a bit more...cover yourself...be prepared...

  9. Check again tomorrow. The system was messed up. You may also want to call the Embassy to verify it...just in case. If, in fact, your interview has been moved up and you're ready for it...OUTSTANDING!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  10. You've posted before...and the answers you got weren't confusing. Doesn't matter how long you've been here...you're divorced and you MUST report it and you MUST have a decree of divorce. Pure and simple. The language is quite clear on the forms. Regardless of how messy your divorce was...unless she filed a complaint against you for abuse...there should not be an issue.

  11. Just a note...if you're going to post a comment pertaining to what I post, please make sure that it is a separate post and not tagged on to the body of my original or copy of my post. Your words are not mine...even if I agree with the idea of your expression...I don't want it to appear as something that I said. Teddy K...I'm sure that it wasn't intentional...but, just want to make it clear that when someone posts their opinion that it is seen as their opinion and not to be confused with my own.

    Thank you!!!

Have a Great Day!! And To All...Stay Vigilant...

  12. 60 Days has been the standard at NVC for CR and IR processing. Then you get to wait another 30 to 60 days when it gets to your embassy! Generally - K1 visas take much less time...the processing is done at the Embassy...not at NVC. NVC puts a case number on it then forwards it to the Embassy. However...considering what is happening in the States - re: 57,000 illegal "kids" crossing the border and jamming up ALL systems...expect that you'll have to wait a while longer. And, Obama is threatening to allow the 11+ million apply for something similar to the DACA program that messed everything up since 2012!!! So, for citizens who find that to be appalling...be sure to WRITE to your congressmen!!! Since they are in recess right now...send the letter to their home office as well as to their Washington DC office!

Flood the Congress and Senate with letters expressing your disapproval of the current situation and demand immediate action! When is this b.s. going to end I'm tired of being gerked around by this slow ### government process whom we pay our good hard earned money to get our loved ones here only to have them wait more

    Just sayin'!!!!

    Good Luck everyone...

  13. Immigration needs to be fixed, but blaming your wait times on Obama is just silly. Honestly, he probably doesn't even know the immigration process like most people in government or USA in General. Run for office, fix things. Don't try to make the most unproductive congress in history even more awful by cockblocking the president.

Good wishes for the rest of the process!

You are so wrong about that. Obama's DACA program directly affected thousands of CR/IR/K1 visa petitions for nearly two years! Congress has every right to "cockblock" this out-of-control egomaniac!

  14. What a bunch of nonsense. Seriously, blaming Obama for this is silly and childish.

You really need to get up to date things. In fact, Obama's DACA directive, issued by him to Janet Napolitano (then Secretary of Homeland Security)...in essence, to EXPEDITE illegal immigrant "youth" - to stop potential deportation...and then gave them work permits. He did that at the expense of American citizens petitioning for spouses and family. His actions directly impacted thousands of petitioners and their loved ones. Perhaps you've been hiding under a rock?

  15. Majority of the USA doesn't give two hoots about the immigration journey. Most just assume that because you're married, the spouse moves here and is a US citizen as well. I cannot tell you how many times people think I'm a US citizen even though I say I just have a green card. They don't understand what that even means.

If writing the letter makes you feel better, do it, but don't expect anything to change.

DACA should have been implemented, but it should not have been given priority over all other visa types. JMO.

You're right on the first point.

On the 2nd point...I disagree...based on personal experience...

On the third point...I agree on the 2nd part of your statement...on the first...not without Congressional approval! Obama acted unilaterally - completely not his right to do that...making and changing laws is strictly under the Legislative Branch (Congress and the Senate), per our Constitution. Obama circumvented it...not even with an EO but rather a "Directive" to then Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. It was a very sneaky move on his part.

  16. The "five year rule" just means that the OP is filing based on being a permanent resident for five years, vs filing being a permanent resident for three years and married to a US citizen spouse. I am thinking the OP is thinking that they don't have to provide information for prior marriages because they are not filing based on marriage to a citizen spouse. That is not the case though. You must always provide documentation of termination of prior marriages, five or three years regardless.

Ok...didn't make that connection with the 5 yr rule...we're not there, yet! LOL. But, yes, very true that they have to report...as I mentioned in my message...

  17. Not sure about your expedited case....it might be possible...that's a BIG if. As for K3...we did get approved for K3 and my wife went to her interview and was approved...albeit, pending location of the Hong Kong Police Clearance that was sent last month from Hong Kong. But, if you look at the timelines for the PI...only one other K3 has been approved at USCIS and NVC before the I-130. Our I-130 is still at Vermont. Since USCIS is claiming that they are within their 5 month processing period...it's very likely that your K3 will be married to your I-130. Both are likely to clear at the same time. That will close your K3 application and your I-130 will continue to be processed. You're still looking at a long time even if they do approve an expedite. They are seriously backed up!!! And with the computer system at the State Department having crashed and running at half speed...things are really slowed down now. So, you may just have to resign yourself to a long wait, unfortunately! To tell you that everything will be peachy wouldn't be honest.

    Best of luck!

  18. Assume nothing other than that right now they have an erroneous change of address for you and you need to make sure that they have your CORRECT address. All they do is confirm information that they've received. Somehow, either someone used your case number when applying for a change of address or the person at USCIS entered in the wrong number. Could be that the person changing address has a case # very similar to yours. Nonetheless - you need to find out what they have and have it corrected immediately.

  20. Muslim Divorces are adjudicated per Sharia Law. Most are in the Mindanao area of the Philippines naturally because that is where most of the Muslim communities are. You are correct outside of Sharia Law the Philippines does not have a divorce process. They are the only remaining country who does not have a divorces system.

Yup. Have recently read that more Muslims are moving into the Manila area...and, in general, to Luzon. Hopefully things don't get out of control as it has in other countries that have experienced rapid growth in Muslim population.
