  1. How would I know if I was on someone other than my spouse's clearance application?

As a DoD employee, my understanding is that the breach only involved the system used for security clearances. The recent notices were actually being sent to those who were on someone else's clearance application. Basically, if your SSN was on someone else's SF86 then you now get this letter and are eligible for credit monitoring. This reversed a previous decision to only cover the applicants themselves. So long story made short, I believe (but as always, could be wrong) this is more likely because your data was on someone else's application for a clearance and not because of your immigrant visa application.

  2. A few weeks ago I got a notice in the mail that my data had been compromised in the Chinese hack of OPM data: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/federal-eye/wp/2015/12/16/federal-data-breach-notices-are-catching-some-by-surprise/

We applied for an immigrant visa in January 2014; my data was certainly in the system because of my petition.

I'm wondering if others have received the notice for the sponsor AND if anyone has received or heard anything about the immigrant's data being compromised.

  3. Want to rant for real? Rant to someone who can do something about it:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/519656-contact-information-for-everyone-at-state-responsible-for-visa-delays/

This is a comprehensive and I believe completely accurate name title and phone directory for everyone at State in the NVC chain of command. I called the NVC Director's number and got his voice mail.

    Happy calling!

  4. If someone could find the same for USCIS that would be peachy. The phone list was released by Consular Corner and I put two and two together from information at State's web site.

  5. I'll post this in its own thread, but for anyone wanting to go to war with NVC, here is what I believe to be a complete and accurate list of the chain of command responsible for NVC from the NVC Director up to Secretary Kerry, with their phone numbers.

  6. We just got the interview email (P4) from NVC. I'm wondering if anyone else has the same confusion: the letter details the documents we need to bring, and there are none. Not a one is listed as I, P, S, T, etc.

Is all the advice on VJ to bring originals and copies just because this process is so f$%^#d up from the start that we don't trust State any farther than we can throw them?

If so, the wasted time and energy we expend in this process must be counted in the trillions of dollars.

And yes, of course my husband will bring originals and copies of everything, DNA samples, candy wrappers from 1998, etc.

  7. Bonjour,

It seems like most of you on this forum are K-1s, but I'll ask anyway. I'm the petitioner for my Belgian husband resident in France and we just got Case Closed on our I-130 petition. Wondering if anyone can give me your timelines after CC: how long until you got an interview date, how far away that was, delivery of visa after interview.

    Thanks.

Oh and it has been great fun to read all of the comments about how much faster French administration is than the US. I have been stateside for three months now and can agree that with most things the French rock. Especially immigration.

  8. Well well well. I'm going to skewer some bastards this weekend.

Today I called Bob Goodlatte's office and told the staffer that my next call was to the campaign of his opponents to get their help going to the local press with the story of his inaction on processing delays. Bob Goodlatte is Public Enemy #1 in my book.

FCi is close behind. I have screen shots of all the posts and just took one of the posts removed. Those will go on the site this weekend.

Anyone else have names for the Hall of Shame? Obama certainly (voted for him twice but DACA is his baby), DHS and State secretaries, who else?

Well, the facebook page has deleted the comments few VJers posted minutes ago. It says they are wrapping up third month of their contract for visa support services for the department of state: do you think change of companies is what has caused our delay? I have been at NVC since April and still no end in sight. So it makes me feel that Serco (the previous company) didnt wanna touch my case, because they already knew they dont have the contract and timely processing didnt matter to them anymore. Then FCi Federal took over and they didnt know what to do with my case- being new at the job and learning curve, etc... What do yall think?

  9. Awesome! I love the other post--should we use the other email? lol

YES LET'S ALL EMAIL humancapital@fcifederal.com with our concerns. Let's have this email address on the wiki for NVC!

Another post just got up and I got the screen shot of that as well. I'll watch this afternoon to see what happens, how long they last.

I repeat: it is time to get PISSED OFF.

I'm gay and I came out during the early days of the AIDS crisis. I came out with a vengeance, as they said at the time, getting active in the fight against AIDS right away. I was active in ACT UP. If you don't know, it stands for the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power. And they did. They were vilified by many for direct action and anger, but they made permanent changes among other things to the FDA approval process for new drugs that have probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives over the years since. But what they taught us was that if no one cares, which at the time they didn't--Reagan was directly complicit in the murder of many gay men by his inaction--you must ACT UP.

Does anyone really feel like we are not justified in not getting angry about how we and our families are being treated by our own government?

Now someone come up with an acronym as catchy as ACT UP for us.

Ok done and I have a screen shot of it when your ready. Below is my post in case they remove it.

Hello, I have been at NVC for ever and was trapped at USCIS for over a year I see people zipping by while many of us sit still waiting for case complete. I want you to know that I have been lied to by the the customer service reps at NVC, one told me my AOS was accepted then I called a few days later and was told I had Case Complete I rarely call because most of the reps are very rude and not helpful at all. I called Monday to confirm and the Rep told me my files had not even been touched. Why isn't my case rushed because of the way I was treated? Why do you insist on treating us like this it's just cruel and there are others in the same boat as I am that need immediate help with our cases but we wait and wait many of us for 16 and 18 months. Tell me why I was lied to not only once but twice? I want answers and action I paid for service I am not receiving!!!!!!!!!

  10. Ok would have been easier with a link but will hunt for them ty very much. :) (L) (L)

    https://www.facebook.com/FCiFederal

They almost immediately deleted my posts and banned me from all other comments.

IF YOU COMMENT, PLEASE take a screenshot and save it so you can send it to me after for the new web site. I want to feature the CEO of FCi on the page and call out her personal responsibility so these images will be helpful to show that even the private contractors who are part of this mess are conspiring to make us invisible.

  11. I'll post my letter here and on a new site I'll work on getting up over the weekend:

    bringthemhome.today

I didn't have a call, just sent an inMail which they can reply to or not.

    Francis Moody, PMP

    Vice President at Serco Inc.

is on LinkedIn if anyone wants to bug him, ask him what his company is doing to reunite American families.

I have a bunch of ideas for the web site but will need help, so if anyone has graphics skills, SEO skills, or experience with Squarespace, I'd love the help.

WOW read your second post amazing hope everyone does something, I don't have pictures have an aversion to taking pictures but did write the While House Obama specifically not that it will do any good, told him I will never vote again and I"m a democrat.

Would love to read your letter to Michele Thoren Bond , can you post her contact information here for us please? Thank you in advance. :)

May I ask how your call was received by the former Serco NVC employee?

  12. I am going to take action every day and list it here. Anyone who wants to join, please do.

    1. Contacted State at 202-647-6575 option 4 then 4 to get mailing address for the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Consular Affairs (oversees NVC) Michele Thoren Bond. Will write to her this weekend.

    2. Asked this office as well as press office repeatedly for the name of the NVC Director. Refused.

    3. Contacted former Serco NVC employees to give them the usfamiliesfirst@hotmail.com email address to ask for help if they had any information or contacts to help us.

    4. Sent an inMail on LinkedIn to an anonymous profile listed as Director, NVC. Invited this person to get on board or be in the line of fire.

If anyone would like to help, I think it might be helpful for us to each create simple graphics with USC and foreign spouse/kids side-by-side and big text that says "SEPARATED SINCE XXX". We could create a website to store them, but I would prefer that we email thousands of them every day to the press and State and DHS and the White House.

    Pissed off,

    Jon

  13. I think it's long past time for guerilla warfare.

    I've created usfamiliesfirst@hotmail.com.

Please note this email. What I'd like to do is to have us give it to operators at NVC when we call in and ask them to get on our side. They are the ones dealing with the angry calls, but they are human beings who probably if they heard our stories would be sympathetic. So let's call forth that sympathy.

If you get a sympathetic agent, ask them to note the email on a piece of paper and when they get home send us whatever they can in terms of information on how NVC works, additional contact numbers that get to people in administrative positions, anything that will help us wage war on this piece of s*&t administration. At the very least, they will tell supervisors and it will move up the chain somewhat. If we do get info, we can use that in letters and calls to the press and Congress.

It is high time we get pissed off.

  14. Hi All,

Just an FYI in case anyone is interested in working on this with me, I filed an FOIA request with State for NVC records, inspired by waiting_______'s request for similar records from USCIS. Here is the text of the request:

I am requesting any and all records relating to the current massive delay in processing US citizen immediate family immigrant visas at the National Visa Center. Types of records may include emails, internal memoranda, communication with other government agencies including USCIS, communication from Congressional Representatives' staff, inquiries from House and Senate oversight committees, and letters from US citizen petitioners. Records may go as far back as September 2012 when DACA petitions began at USCIS: what communication happened between USCIS and NVC? Did USCIS warn NVC about the massive increase and backlog in processing of petitions? Records around May-August of 2014 are of particular interest: as USCIS was clearing up its backlog of DACA-delayed I-130 and I-129 petitions, did they warn NVC? What did NVC do to prepare for the additional burden of petitions? What did NVC do to plan ahead for the rush of petitions coming from USCIS? What did NVC management decide to do and to whom did they decide to communicate or not their decisions? What did they decide to communicate or not to Congress and US citizens who made inquiries into the delays? What if any were management's reactions to the New York Times article in February 2014 regarding the delays? Did anyone at NVC see the trainwreck coming?

I also have the information I need to do a follow up request to USCIS around their plans and capacity to handle DACA renewals, which should be starting to flow to USCIS now.

    Jon
