Don't forget that there are people who keep a close eye out for the interview slots and are able to grab an earlier slot because it opens up. It happens. You just have to be patient and keep checking.
I know it's not your case yet, but at least consider yourself lucky you can do that. I have to wait for the Embassy to schedule my interview (and I'm not even close to that point), which makes traveling arrangements more difficult and it means my children will most likely lose two days of school (if not more). Such are the cards each one of us is dealt with.
You can only track the package your passport is in, after the visa is issued, and only for some countries where that option is viable. You cannot track your petition from NVC to the Embassy aside from the CEAC website, as it changes from "In Transit" to "Ready".
As for what happens after, it really depends on how your Embassy functions. For some, you need to call them, for others they send you an email, for mine, for example, you receive a letter in the mail. Look at your regional sub-forum and/or Embassy reviews to know what to expect.
In some cases, you need the DS-160 Confirmation number to be able to schedule the interview - this might be the case for you. It really is best to check with VJers who have been through the same embassy as yours to know the best way to do things.
You do not need anything from NVC for the interview. Some people receive a letter from them, many don't. As long as you have your case number, then you can use that to go on by. That's all they really need.
I can hardly imagine the frustration. I'm still always popping in to see if any of you still waiting have any news. Still crossing my fingers. Hang in there, guys!
You do not need the affidavit of support in your petition, and in no way does it push your case for a faster approval. Wherever you heard that, it's wrong. Why some cases get approved faster than others is anyone's guess.
They have no way of knowing that your file will be incomplete when they assign a case number to you. I think that is just a coincidence. Doesn't mean you won't get an RFE, of course, but don't assume you will just because the people before/after you did. I know it's easy for me to say, but do hang in there. It will happen!
You can check any petition you want by changing the last digits. There was a post somewhere about that, early in either this thread or the regular November filers thread, that explained it all in detail. Personally, I didn't find it helpful in the least, as what happens with other petitions has no bearing on what happens to yours. But that's just my opinion.

Initial ReviewOn December 19, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

Not at all, mine says I should have been approved between 24th January and 13th Feb... still waiting!
The timelines are screwed up because people keep saying they've filed to TSC and then recording it as transferred when they get their NOA1 from California. EVERYBODY has to send their I129Fs to Texas, this does not mean that that's the centre processing their case and does not mean it's been transferred (which is something completely different) when they get an NOA1 from California!
    Ok, rant over...

The I-134 (Affidavit of Support) needs to be the original signature from the petitioner and all evidance can be copies.

bunnygirl got a reaction from dbholbrook in My American fiancee has dual citizenship and we're both in the UK, can we still apply for the fiancee visa?
She just needs to send the forms to the Dallas lockbox and move back to the States before you.
Another (quicker) option for you is to get married in the UK now and have your then wife file an I130 direct to London - processing times for this are currently much lower than either a K1 or CR/IR1 visa filed to Chicago.

I understand the frustration. I haven't seen my fiance since the summer and we miss each other terribly, but there's really nothing we can do about it. It really is just a waiting game - I wish I could make it better somehow, but there's nothing anyone can do.
As for your son, congratulations! You will need to register him at the Embassy and get him his own American passport. That's really all I know about it - take a look around VJ, I'm sure there's lots of information on this.

Quit making up stuff. The NOA2 expiration date is meaningless in the K-1 process. Once the NVC and then the Embassy has the case, they can keep it open for as long as they want.....there iNOTHING for you to do.....they don't even do anything....they have the case and its open until it's closed or completed.
And I don't believe a letter of intent is required for London to do anything....you do need that from each party for the interview.

Nowhere is this needed. Honestly, you'll drive yourself crazy trying to second guess! If you want to do something constructive then maybe go through the copy of everything you sent and see if you missed any boxes on the forms (easy to do). If it's something simple like a misplaced form I'm afraid you'll just have to wait for the hard copy.
