  1. After nearly a year, we are finally done with this process!! My husband had his interview in Sydney yesterday and said it was a breeze and he was approved on the spot! Woooooo!!! Thank you to everyone here for their support, help, and heart. We did this without a lawyer and because of Visa Journey, we had no hiccups or checklists what so ever. Best of luck to all those still waiting, your turn will come (and it feels SO good!). Happy Holidays everyone :)

    Special thanks to Salin for her attention to detail, organization, patience and dedication to helping all those going through this heart-breaking process. Your wiki and posts were life savers and we really couldn't have done this without you!

  3. My apologies if this has been covered already, but does anyone know how long it usually takes NVC to send your package to the consulate after receiving the P4 letter? I was told that the US Consulate in Sydney accepted our expedite case, but it doesn't really seem like anything is moving any faster than normal.

    We received the P4 letter on 11/3 and the status in CEAC still shows "at NVC". Thanks in advance for any advice/tips!

  4. Hi mjardine,

    May I ask when is your interview date? I called NVC yesterday and we have a case complete. Just wondering if Sydney has started giving out interviews for December?

    Thanks

    Mangool

    Nope, no interview scheduled yet...at least not that I am aware of :) I'm really hoping for early December as I know they shut down early in Oz for the holidays (post office, businesses, etc), fingers crossed!

  5. You have an incredibly accurate gut! CASE COMPLETE as of 10/21!!!!! Thank you to everyone on this thread for all of the support and positive words. For those of you still waiting, hang in there! This is the best feeling ever, my hub will be here by Christmas! Now we just need a win tonight, GO GIANTS!!

    Oh and side note: status still hasn't changed to N/A on CEAC and I only waited 20 minutes on hold with NVC :)

  6. yes this is MOST definitely a CASE COMPLETE EMAIL. I got this after about 7 days (literally a week) of getting a case complete. And this is pretty current as i received this same email on Oct 23, exactly 7 days after getting a case complete on the phone and my AOS state changing from PAID to N/A on Oct 16. I am surprised that your AOS fees hasn't changed to N/A. I know previously there have been cases where it hasn't. In my case it did.

    Call the NVC ASAP. :dancing::goofy::dancing:

    And congratulations---- :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

    Since you got the email…my gut instinct says 21 or 22 Oct you had a case complete.

  7. Hi All,

    I received an email this morning that stated (in the attached letter) "All documentation necessary to complete the Nation Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified."

    I got all excited and checked CEAC only to see the statuses both still showing PAID. Has anyone received anything like this? Is it just an automated response to a question I sent in months ago? My AOS scan date is 8/7 nad IV 9/24. I can't get through to NVC so hopefully someone here can shed some light.

    Thanks!

  8. I checked with NVC and the operator was very specifc in his answer : He Told all packages and docs will reviewed together as 1 single packet to save time and the 60 days start from the date you sent the IV docs...

    Sigh. Thanks everyone for the answers. This process is incredibly disheartening - we followed all the steps the way we were instructed and are now being basically penalized for it.

  9. Does anyone know if they delay reveiwing the AOS until they have received the IV package?

    My situation is as follows:

    - Sent AOS package scan date Aug 7.

    - Waited for fee to be unlocked and paid until sending IV package.

    - IV package scan date 9/24.

    - 60 day letter received shortly thereafter.

    I'm wondering if they should have reviewed the AOS package already and now will review the IV after the 60 days. I'm pretty scared about a checklist on my AOS, am I in the clear yet or no? Thanks in advance for any advice/similar experiences!

  10. Have you received an email or info letting you know they have received your documents?

    Mine were delivered on 24th too so I am trying to find out also.

    I sent my IV package in on Sep 23rd, received Sep 24th (via FedEx), and got the email this morning (Sep 26th) saying they received the IV package and 60 days etc. For my AOS package, it took well over a month and a half before I received the 60 notice, so not sure what that means.

  11. I'm not sure I know what link you are referring to but I know there is one in Saylin's WiKi (it's in the first post of this thread - go to her WiKi and go the DS-260 section). You should be able to see an example there. Also, there is an example of the DS-260 in the NVC's website.

    Thanks so much for the response! I actually have those examples printed out and have checked/followed Saylin's wiki - but I was looking more for a forum where folks have asked questions and such. I thought I saw someone post something like that on one of these NVC threads...but maybe I was dreaming!

  12. Hi All,

    My apologies if this is not the right thread for this question, but I couldn't find one with as many knowledgable people as this one! My IV invoice just showed as paid today and the DS 260 became available. Simultaneously, we requested an expedite and received an email from NVC Expedite today (after having received the "under review" email on Tuesday) that read as follows:

    The U.S. Consulate in Sydney, Australia is willing to review your expedite request after we receive and review all the civil documents for this case. You will be notify [yes, grammatical error] when the Embassy makes a decision. If you have not already done so, you can submit your civil document and send them to this address: NVC address in NH

    From reading as many threads as I could about expedites, this threw me a little. I was under the impression that I should NOT send the civil docs because I won't get them back in time if our expedite gets approved and we have to bring them to the interview. Does anyone have any advice here on whether or not to send the IV package and/or how this will play out?

    Thanks in advance and congrats to all those with CC and progress this week!!

  13. Happy Thursday everyone! Guess what? My husband is here!!!!!!! Flew in from Australia to LAX and said immigration was a piece of cake and actually pretty fast. I don't have the details on questions or anything, but I'm just so excited to see him!! He is here for the length of the VWP - 3 months. We are in the NVC stage, have submitted the AOS package and are waiting for IV fee. He carried with him NOA1, NAO2, cover page docs from AOS submission, letter from work stating his leave of absence, car rego/insurance receipts, and return ticket.

    So for those of you contemplating and missing your other half as much as I was, I say take the risk! :dancing:
