I get the same disappointing reply, they know and see everything ;( the only good news will be is when they tell you visa is issued

I'm trying to call nvc .. Is the call connecting ?

Yes I just called to check it's going through... You have to keep redialing until you get through, I got through when I called the second time

Can anyone tell me that whenever I try to call nvc the avr says to call back later due to the current high volumes of call the call cannot b connected .. So when should I call ?? I m calling since many days but can't go thru

Try calling between 7am-8:30am I always get through quickly at that time... I've never called at night time but I've heard it's also easy to get through.

I would assume it means that your file is being looked at /worked on. Not just somewhere in the pile of files. These past few months I kept being told my case was under review, ever since that field investigation, when I call now, they say the same standard words , its in AP.

Who knows what they are up to..this is really sad, they are so unfair to us all!

This is so fustrating... I called Dos about a month ago twice and both times I was told that we are in AP and that they are verifying documents and as soon as they are finished they will contact us. So yesterday I called and was told that we are still in administrative processing, so I asked when was the last update and she said November 7, so I told her that I checked the ceac website and that it said last update was February 20. So, she then asked me when was the last time they contacted us and I said never, so she said that I should get in contact with the embassy, so I told her I have emailed them about 4 times and no reply, so she said keep trying..so in the end again she said that we are in AP but that the case is active...I wonder what she meant by active...

It doesn't mean that he won't get his visa just because they didn't keep his passport at the interview. They can ask for the passport when they are ready to issue the visa. I think the people who's passport they don't keep are the lucky ones. At least they can travel instead of the embassy holding on to it for months or years.

Thanks so much! This has had us worried the most about them returning my husbands passport, we are always thinking its because they want to deny his visa...hope not!

Only thing i can advise is be prepared for a home visit as thats been happening In a lot of cases lately. And ur husbands neighbors know about ur marriage

My VJ friends...My hubby's case has been updated 3 days in a row... 18,19, and today 20. What does this mean??? Any ideas???

I'm constantly emailing embassy about my case but they r not replying been emailing since about a month .. Can I know if this is happening with someone ? Y they not responding

Same here....I have emailed them about 4times in 2 months and No replies from them!

My husband doesnt know his neighbors and the neighbors dont know him, we are a private couple, we have kept a low profile with this case because people who do know us ask too many questions, and everyone including friends and family want to know what is going on. Informing people is the last thing on our mind, we just want to be with each other

Try not to worry! This might be a good thing! What's important is that they are working on your hubby's case and not ignoring it...Try staying positive. Everything will be ok :)They just love putting some cases through a hard and scary time before they issue the visa....

Alhamdolillah my case got another update (3rd time) during this month. 2nd, 3rd and 4th February. I dont know what does that mean but I would simply say thanks to Allah SWT for whatever is happening as everything happens for a good reason.

I wish I get a visa as my wife is mentally exhausted due to stress she is having at work and the nature of job (healthcare) she cant take leave with pay to visit Pakistan. We have been put to this test and I pray that Allah SWT succeed us in this test.

Special Note: All those who have interest in dogs must come to Islamabad on 7th February as German Shepherd Club of Pakistan is arranging a dog show for Seiger Pakistan at Gun and Country Club Islamabad. It would help you relax and enjoy a day with man's best friend with lots of exciting stuff. It is a good activity for those who are stuck in AP for such a long time as few moments of joy would ease the pain.

Yes exactly, people have no sympathy and no empathy. Rather they make fun because generally people like to diss others. Anyway I would do sabar and what else can we do.

Yes that's right, people just don't understand our situation, nothing else we can do and make DUA for others and ourselves...and I really hope you get your visa soon since you have been waiting for a very unfair long time like many others here

They do it here too in America, both petitioner and beneficiary are checked but I guess since fingerprints are taken from the beneficiary, they get checked out more in detail. I agree, I am willing to give them evidence of our marriage every month, come stop by , drink tea with us lolz do whatever it is you have to but plz let us be together. If we look at CR-1 cases, which is what I have filed for, the beneficiary already gets a two year green card and then you have to remove conditions, in a lot of cases a couple is called in for a interview to submit evidence of still being together, so its like their doubting their own work, if you have made a CR-1 category, then do the rest of your work here in U.S. The only positive thing about this all is the more time they take, my husband will be eligible for a ten year green card if this goes on longer and so is everybody else who have been waiting way longer then us.

Lol Yeah it's true I forgot about that they do security checks here too, I don't know then what is it that they do, it's fustrating and soooo stressful! The 10 year green card is the only good thing about this like you said because then there's no need to go through a process again to remove the conditions.

My husband and I have been arguing a lot these days due to the stress he gets so depressed because of his friends making fun of him and everyone including family keep asking him when is he leaving to America..it's so sad he has to say not yet. Even I get so angry when my family and friends ask me when is my husband coming, they probably think our marriage is a lie or something else going on. ...

My husband says the same thing, he's like my excitement is going down and down over U.S. nor does he have any craze, I dont even know who to blame anymore, our kismat (destiny) the embassy the visa officer, congressman, senator or policies? This has been the hardest test of my life so far, the only reason I think they put people in long APs is to truly test their marriage, i have read a lot on security checks online, even a visa mantis check takes max 4 months, and not all types of checks apply to a person, it all depends on their nationality. The maximum to give them time is 6 months, anything after that is pure cruelty on human rights. What priority does administrative processing cases have? do our files just sit there and collect dust. I feel like writting to every congressman and senator in every state and be like take a good look at your policies and protocols,, I understand national security but why are innocent couples being subjected to this? At least give a time limit, I have read on other US embassies from other Muslim countries, who have a different way to track administrative processing, even have stated on the website to give them six months max, Islamabad embassy is doing nothing beside sitting there and drinking tea and coffee. Dont the employees there have families or spouses? who is training these people? Couples on here such as myself are waiting to start their families, start their lives together and embassy is taking their sweet time, as if they are doing us a favor, there not, its because of our applications and fees , they have a job and money to feed their own families on the expense of us.

You're right, I really don't understand them. I think AP should never take more than 1yr max! They should just take a couple months, if they want to investigate why don't they just do it here in America? They should do a quick security check in Islamabad, give the visa to the person and continue doing an investigation when the person is here... I wouldn't mind them coming to my home every week to check on my husband and I if they want to see if we really have a true marriage! They can check on us here all they want! We have nothing to hide. Honestly their AP system sucks and it's pointless with no reason behind all this! Totally unfair...

I suggest you to email the embassy right away, maybe they might have requested some kind of document. And similar thing happened with me. When I called NVC to check the status on my wife AP. NVC representative asked me after asking me the case number and names etc.. NVC representative asked me that how was ur wife interview. I replied well VO said that interview was good nothing to worry about. We have to put case in admin processing to get clearance from washington DC. It made me think that why NVC representative would ask him that how was the interview since there was nothing wrong and no additional documents were required. Then I asked NVC representative that is everything ok? Any problem. . I tried so hard thay I can get any answer from the representative. But representative said your case is still in Ap. And no additional documents required. You just wait AP to be over and you will be contacted by embassy.

That is strange why would they ask how was her interview and then not tell you why they are asking. Did you email the embassy?? Did they request anything?

No updates called yesterday lady told me the same AP .... Strange thing is that she asked me if I (the petitioner) was requested to go to Pakistan for the interview and I said no they didn't and asked her why? and she said oh just asking...so then I kind of played dumb just to see what she says and asked her what does AP mean because I don't know anything about that, so she said AP is when they request additional documents and such and need to review it... So I told her they didn't request any documents during the interview and was only issued a 221g to my husband. So she said that I should email the embassy I don't feel like emailing them, gets me so angry they are just going to tell me the same #######, AP!
