I have received my 10 year green card on 8th May 2014. On the date of my interview, I was married for 2 years and 2 months. My query is for issuing 10 years green card is 2 years of marriage counted upto the date of interview or upto when I started my application?

After optimized you have 1-3 weeks before you get the green card. It will say "closed" when the card is produced and then you can track the card on the USCIS case status with your IOE number.

mine is also in process...i guess green card should arrive in 1 or 2 weeks for us

its really annoying that it hasn't arrived yet. But I guess you should wait upto 3 weeks or a little more otherwise she might land up getting 2 SSN's. Mine was pretty fast. Got it in 11 days after my POE.

from my experience, i applied for new USA passport . but when i tried to apply India tourist visa on USA passport, Indian embassy asked for my India passport and stamped all over saying expired

u would be be able to keep both passport but its illegal, but sooner or later when u apply for tourist visa from Indian embassy they will verify to check if the old passport has been cancelled yet or not.

My husband got his citizenship and naturalization certificate last month. What is the procedure after obtaining the naturalization certificate? My husband has an Indian passport.

I just received my X-ray yesterday, they said to keep it in my 'CHECKED IN' baggage when travelling to the US, does that seem right?

How will i be able to present it to the immigration officer if it is not in my 'HAND CARRY BAGGAGE' ?

My husband was sworn in as a citizen today. My POE is 4th april. I was wondering if I would need a copy of his naturalization certificate to show at POE. My husband was told at the oath ceremony not to email the certificate or share with anyone since it contains confidential information. But I guess a xerox copy shouldn't do any harm?

your clinic should have provided sealed x-ray report. thats the rule. You can get back to the clinic and ask them for sealed x-ray report. they might want to keep it for their records thats why they ask for it at POE. Also your x-ray report should be clear.

How do we get informed that our passport is ready for pickup? Is it by phone/email/both-phone & email. BTW our interview was in Mumbai Consulate and pickup is in Blore. Our visa was issued on 21st.

Do they require the sealed x-ray report?

obviously..the clinic will give you sealed reports, one sealed medical report to submitted at interview and the sealed x-ray report to be submitted at POE.

How long does it usually take to receive the passport after the interview?

it all depends on the US consulate. If the status of your case changes from AP to issued then you will get it sooner. I was lucky. My case status changed from AP to issued on the same day and my passport was available for pickup the very next day. In some cases, the case status remains in AP for quite a few days.

Yellow envelope? would that be given to me by the US embassy?

no yellow envelope will be given with your passport at VAC.

She was able to get a PCC from the passport office already, and have it in hand. I asked her to get it right after the NOA2 and they didn't ask for an interview letter of any sort.

Where we screwed up is we only got a single original, it would have been so much simpler to get two original right than.

I guess i'll send the original with the IV package to the NVC and after the interview is scheduled call up the consulate and find out what they'd like us to do. If bringing a copy for the consulate would be sufficient. If not, maybe she can get another clearance certificate before the interview. Thankfully it only took a few days last time to get it.

I got only one original from the Mumbai passport office. I called their helpline, they said they won't issue another one until this one is valid although you can take an appointment and try. (validity is 6 months according to the passport office website). I feel its a waste of time. I submitted the original PCC at NVC and took a copy to the interview. They didn't ask for PCC at the interview, although I observed in the next counter the Indian officer was asking for the other PCC original..but I guess its just a formality and they return it back to you. You can say you have already submitted the original and the passport office didnt issue you another original. You can show them a copy of the original.

I got my original marriage certificate and PCC notorized incase NVC loses the original. But you should carry a copy of PCC and marriage certificate which is not notorized to the interview.

How much time does it take at the POE after I land to get out of the airport? My POE is Los Angeles Airport. My husband/relative might come to pick me up, so just wanted to have an idea. My flight will land at 12.45 pm on 4th April.

no am not changing any address, i want to enter the same details as shown in Form DS-260. Otherwise my profile shows blank. So if I enter the details it says to upload image of passport + visa? do we need to do this?

My visa is issued and I have paid the requisite $ 165 fees before I enter USA. My query is there is a section to update one's profile information - name, addresses, contact info, communication pref (Electronic or paper) biographic info, Government ID, upload evidence info, review and e sign. Do we have to update and upload our passport + visa in this? After I update my profile it asks for uploading evidence, without that it doesnt save. Has anybody done this while paying the $165 fees?
