    There will always be remaining names on Igor's List, because some people never return here to fill out the rest of their timelines. My comment was regarding those who have been posting. :)

    For me, I will say, it is very frustrating to not be able to do anything but sit here and wait, while I see people getting their visas approved, their flights booked, getting married and moving on to AOS. Prayers and vibes are welcome, but thanks to everyone who I know is still crossing fingers for us. :)

    Indian wedding for K1

    in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

    I would like to know whether the USCIS enforces or wants the parents of bride and groom to be present during the wedding? If the couples intend to have a Indian wedding but cannot fit it within the 90 day timeframe, is a court marriage/ceremony enough? Do we have to show that we had taken vows around the fire etc?? Choosing a venue, and all the formalities required to get in-laws' visitor visa within 90 days is proving to be a challenge. Is there a interview process to go through when applying for a green card after K1 and do we have to submit pictures along with the application or is it later that we have to submit those kinds of documents? Your help/experience is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance...

    Hey Congrats :)dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif

    Part of it has to do with the process in the Philippines because my fiance didn't have to wait for a letter or packet from the US Embassy in order to schedule an interview.

    For the Philippines, once you get the NVC visa #, we can pay the visa fee and then be able to schedule our interview date on our own, so we got May 5th. Also, we are able to reschedule two times so we were able to grab a closer date, March 12th.

    That part of the process really allows you to speed up the process tremendously, as long as all the stuff for the interview is taken care way before the interview.

    My fiance, really busted her butt to get the NBI and CENOMAR done even before we paid the visa fee after NVC. Then she worked real hard to get the interview done asap.

    At that point, even though our interview was scheduled pretty soon, she still had some time to relax from doing much visa stuff before the interview.

    And, all that was while she was working her office job.

    Thus, our process is much faster because we can do a lot on our own & add to the fact that my fiance really did a whole lot in a short amount of time.

    Hi friends,

    I am looking for your guidance and help in answering the following questions:

    1. Does the consulate specify a date for the visa interview or do we have the ability to choose the date as per our convenience.

    2. Also, is K1 visa considered an immigrant visa or a non-immigrant visa for medical and interview scheduling? I am seeing it both ways. Some people have said in the forum that they stood in the immigrant visa at the consulate for the interview. But in some websites K1 has been indicated to be a non-immigrant visa. Technically I would assume it is an immigrant visa because the individual has the intent to immigrate especially when s/he is getting married to a US Citizen.

    3. Can the petitioner and the applicant travel together to the US or could that be a problem? What kind of questions should the applicant be prepared for at the port of entry?

    We got our NOA2 and the status on CEAC website shows In Transit. I called NVC and tried to find the tracking id for the package but was told that they don't have/give tracking number. Is that correct or did I read in some post that people were able to track the package? How long should I wait before calling the embassy. Also what is the process from here on - will the consulate mail a letter or should we call the consulate or should we just schedule the interview?? Any help/suggestion is appreciated.

    Hi Guys,

    Something very strange happened with us which has left us stumped protest6wz.gif and worried...

    On Feb 20th we received NOA2 mail from USCIS and then on Feb 26th they notified us by both email as well as status update on USCIS website that they have shipped our case to the Department of State....

    On March 5th we received a new email from USCIS that they have approved our petition on March 5th and our online status also changed....

    My fiance called USCIS and they said that they can only see the latest update on their screen and can't crosscheck the updates for Feb 20th and Feb 26th....

    Our case hasn't yet reached NVC...we are calling them almost daily starting this week....

    What should we do? What should we believe...has anyone experienced something similar?

    Not sure what happened with our file. I am assuming it was a typo/clerical error when the 2nd approval was sent out. Fiance called NVC today and they had the case uploaded in the system. So basically the first approval date was valid. YAY !! Ya !! WOO HOOO!! Getting 1 step closer with every day passing by.

    As I wake at 520 am eastern standard time, I've notice stillness in the air. It was very quiet. Suddenly, to my left peripheral, there a blue light flashing on the top left handed corner of my Samsung Galaxy.I picked the wonderful but cracked phone and on the screen I noticed an email from visa journey for a response on this encouraging forum. I saw that a fellow November filer received just a text stating that they was approved. I was at peace and happy for this individual. BUT WAIT!!!! THEN I THOUGHT THAT IF THIS PERSON DIDN'T RECEIVE AND EMAIL IN ADDITION, IT'S POSSIBLE THAT I MAY HAVE RECEIVED A TEXT ON FROM USCIS. Immediately, i pressed the back button of the android and headed towards the messaging app. Upon clicking the app, my hopes flew towards the stars. In anticipation, with my palms sweaty and my heart beating fast, I wiped the crust out of my eyes and then say that my ............ wait for it ........... THAT MY CASE WAS UPDATED.....YAY ... BUT WAIT, MAYBE IT'S JUST AN RFE..... the journey to be continued..........

    Part 2 of this morning...

    I flew to my computer laptop in which superman aint got nothing on me today. With my ashy hands, I pressed the power button. After loading, I USCIS website was already preloaded. At a simple click of the button to refresh the browser, I looked away. Then I looked back and saw..............................wait for it............................wait for it............

    I am past 3 months from NOA1 and right at 3 months since Alien # change... Sometimes it's harder to be patient, but in a couple years it will just be a cute story to tell, how we had to be apart for a while to be stronger when reunited.

    This forum is a great support and source of information, it would be so much harder without it! Maybe one day November filers should have a reunion in the US...

    I can understand how you must be feeling right now.....We were in the same boat until last week.

    We have similar timelines so I am sure you will hear some good news either this week or next week...

    It can take a while to get to NVC just keep checking with them periodically to see if they have received it. Mines took about 20 days from the notification that it was mailed to NVC for them to receive and issue a case number. Good luck to you, you are getting there.
