For me when I got email that our petition went to DOS I was wondering if that was NVC I know they are connected in some way, only thing I can add is ours stayed with DOS for 3 weeks in AP, call this number DOS 202 485 7600 press 1 then 0 for live assistance

Anyone familiar with how long it takes for a police clearance in South Africa?

After reading everybody's post about status date changes i checked ours, It changed also from Feb 14 to the 20th, on the 20th we received our packet 3.. Maybe you guys getting it tonight or tomorrow.

Warning if you follow VJ's consulate forum most of the information is outdated! South African Consulate firum here list doctors NO LONGER available to see...Be careful!! don't want to waste money or precious time

Thanks again for the info, he's in joburg so unfortunately the one doctor listed in that area is expensive and all we have to chose from.

I just hope the police clearance don't take long and we have all the correct documents needed and submitted, as I said earlier, the consulates website is very confusing. I'm just freaked out!

Wow that is really long wait time, would you mind sharing the medical experience, plus the embassy never mailed a letter with specific instructions, just an email directing us to there confuing website, DS160 done but wasn't clear on what else they needed we dud DS230 and 156 something or other. This is why I'm so stressed not to many people from SA consulate I can seek advice, I'll take anything.

I had to reply to your post. Fiance and I are still gathering documents police clearance from south Africa and Zimbabwe, he's Zimbabwean, haven't done the medical, our approval is good until May and I'm going out my minf with worry, does it really take that long to get SA clearance? I'm so worried about that.

I concur, now you know exactly what he or she wants, I wonder do you see the same CO? Can you imagine another CO looking at piles of evidence already submitted and asking you why are You having another interview??

I believe you, because my stack is large and getting larger, I'm nervous about this no matter, it's hard depending on someone else's view on what's a bonified relationship!!! I hope my 4 trips last year and one last month will make up for lack of chat logs!

My fiance isn't going through Ghana,for up coming interview, he's going through South Africa, we don't have chat logs from our earliest part of relationship, now I'm worried!!

Your fiancé only need DS 160, after submitting it, he must print the confirmation page to take with him to the interview, since his son is not going to accompany him he doesn't to complete one for him now, he must apply for him within a year though
