Hi all, I know this question has been asked before, but I've searched and can't seem to find an answer. My I-129F was approved and sent to the consulate in Casablanca, which has shown status "Ready" since mid-November. In the meantime, my fiancé and I decided to separate. I want to withdraw my petition, but am not sure how to go about it. I emailed the Immigrant Visa Unit at the consulate for more info on how to proceed -- would this be the correct unit? (Or does the Non-Immigrant Visa Unit handle K-1s?). Thanks so much for any guidance you can provide.

Great, thank you both. I will prepare both just in case.

I know this has been discussed before, but I'm hoping to get more up to date information and also people's thoughts on my situation. I'm not currently working because I'm planning to move to California once my fiance arrives and I had to take and pass a professional exam (which has a 6-month waiting period for results) before I am allowed to work there. I made significantly over the poverty guideline (~7x over) in the first six months of 2014 (before I left my job) and had been at that job for 6 years. But my impression is that the consulate does not care about yearly or past earnings if you're not currently working -- is this right? I have significant savings to use for the move to California while my fiance and I get settled and I look for a new job. I just won't be able to work there until early next year, which is right when we anticipate he'll be having his interview. (I'm confident that I'll be working again by the time we file for AOS, so that's not an issue.)
Assuming this is all correct, I will either need to show assets of 5x the poverty guideline, which I believe I could do but it would be very close to the cutoff, or get a cosponsor, right? My parents are willing to cosponsor, but it seems a little strange given that I'm a mid-30's professional. Does Casablanca currently accept a co-sponsor for K-1 applicants? Assuming the answer is yes, is there any kind of negative connotation that goes along with using a co-sponsor? What are people's thoughts on the differences (if any) between using assets and using a co-sponsor (Morocco-specific thoughts especially welcome!)?
Thanks all!

I'm not sure what the official USCIS rule is, but my fiance has the same issue with both of his parents. We put 01/01/1942 (for example) on our G325. He has successfully used that date on past visa applications (Schengen, UK) and his father has flown on airline tickets when we put that for his birthday (his passport only says the year of birth and not a date, but airlines require the full date). That being said, maybe someone else has USCIS-specific insight.

That's what the OP said, then the entire rest of the thread is about everyone else saying that isn't the case & that it is based on workload. I'm from Texas so I figured, unfortunately, that we would be sent to TSC. But, I've seen other Texans go to the CSC. I think everyone is trying their best to come up with a reason to the insanity. But, it seems as if there really is no identifiable rhyme or reason that we can track & predict.
Edit: that came off kind of rude. I wasn't directing the attitude towards you, really. Just the situation in general sucks
No worries. Agreed that it sucks, but at this point I've gotten used to it. The whole system is so hard for everyone, and for people at difficult consulates like mine, we have to dread the consulate stage even more than the USCIS stage. Sorry to barge in on the April TSC filers thread, I'm just trying to keep myself occupied and the January TSC one's not being updated often enough.

I believe the service center is determined by the geographic location of the petitioner, with very few exceptions. See this thread from 2013. Substitute Texas for Vermont (Texas took over the processing of I-129Fs that used to go to Vermont).

Some people are not able to file their taxes by the deadline. For example, I am a partner in a large business and the business (over which I have no control) does not calculate and inform me of my previous year's income until August. Therefore, I can't file my taxes until after that, so I am required to file an extension every year. There has to be a solution for people in this situation. Will OP have issues with just using the extension form? Does anyone know of a situation in which this has been accepted in lieu of a tax return?

Remember that they don't process applications in order. There are people from December who already have NOA2, and even a couple from January, so I would take whatever date they're saying with a grain of salt.

The February 7, 2014 processing date for TSC is wrong. We have a thread for January 2014 TSC filers and I would say 95% of us (if not more) have not yet received NOA2. The poster above is correct, expect 5-6 months. Other than expediting Philippines petitions, the beneficiary's home country is irrelevant.

Have you tried checking the case status online at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Default.aspx?App=IV ?

Hi everyone, I hope your waiting goes well!
Have any of you travelled to the US after getting NOA1? Did you have any problems with the entrance to the US? I'm planning to go next month and I wanted to ask you if it's safe!
Thanks!
Lilay, review this topic, which has all the information you need. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/67796-yes-you-can-visit/

I started one for January 2014 TSC Filers but I don't know how to post a link.

Hi all, my I-129F was received by the Texas Service Center on January 22 and my NOA1 was dated January 24. I started this thread for January 2014 filers whose applications are being processed at TSC so we can stay up to date on progress in processing the applications. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know if there is a separate January 2014 TSC filers topic? If not, it may make sense to start one -- it's confusing to see all the CSC filers getting NOA2 and hard to keep track of what's going on with applications being processed at TSC.
