  1. We received the RFE letter today.

    =====================================================================================

Intent to Marry: Submit evidence from the beneficiary that she plans to marry the petitioner within 90 days

of the beneficiary`s admission in the United States.

Evidence of the beneciary`s intent maybe a statement, wedding preparations or other evidence

that clearly establishes the couple`s intent to marry.

    ======================================================================================

We submitted the Letter of Intent to Marry when we filed for I-129F using the guide in Visa Journey. But to reply in this RFE

we are planning to submit the following evidence and use the Return Envelop included in the RFE letter.

    1) Letter of Intent to Marry (Beneficiary and Petitioner)

    2) Letter from the Priest who will conduct the Wedding

Any feedback will be much appreciated

    Thank You.

  2. I know right! Its about time...and the best part of it all? I did a better job of it myself than waiting for a lawyer cause if I would have left it for her to do it may take another month!

I'm so super excited! Now I'm finally on my way to another destination...I wonder how those chairs are at NVC? Someone please warm up my chair at NVC for me! I would run out hysterically and scream from the joys of it(but it is dark outside and people are trying to sleep not waiting like the rest of us on VJ)... but I'll save the screaming and jumping for joys until we get the final approval from the Embassy first! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

  3. Thank you all, you put me on the right pat...

Your welcome! We've all been in your shoes at one point in our process too. It can get overwhelming, frustrating and exhausting...but ask if your not sure and someone here will either know the answers or know someone who knows the answers and will respond. Its like reaching back to help and lift those that are still behind as we move forward. Just relax and know that its a process, I'm talking from a person who can't sleep over this process but I've learned to relaxed( at least somewhat)!

I hope you've had a chance to update your timeline so we can have a better understanding where you are in the process and can help you better too.

  4. Hi There!

Here is a guide for K1 Visa process/paperwork/forms etc.... this guide helped me a lot when I first began my own process. I did have a lawyer helping me in the beginning but that doesn't mean that I understood all that I needed to do. I have been more informed from using all the information given on VJ and asking for help from my VJ community members than using my lawyer. You can always search for the answers on Google search for any topic. Good luck!

  5. Woohoo! My fiancé's visa was approved! The consul said it was his simplest case of the day. I really don't know what I would have done without all the help I got from VisaJourney. Thank you all! My fiancé will be traveling to the US with me on 19 July.

Good luck to everyone and thank you again!

YEY! Hip,hip hooray! Best of wishes for you both!

  6. Hello,

I am new to the forum. I was recently engaged by my boyfriend while I was abroad. He initially was going to go for a student visa, however I was advised that a fiance visa is better for my situation now that I am engaged. I am currently in medical school and so time and finances are a bit tight. I wanted to know if I could file for the visa myself, or is it better to get a lawyer to file for the visa instead.

I look forward to any suggestions and feedback.

    Thank you so very much,

    Shay

Hi There! Welcome! I was in your shoes a couple of months ago too. One thing that I regretted was hiring a lawyer to help me file for my K1 Visa. I felt overwhelmed and it looked difficult or so it seems. If your case is a straight case meaning, no criminal records or complicated issues etc...then you most certainly are able to do it yourself by using the flow charts and guides on here. There are a lot of wonderful people here that can you help if you're not sure. Take it from me and other people who have straight cases that has had hired a lawyer...its not worth it! You will have to gather and do the work and all they do is put it into the forms and send it off to USCIS. You can get all of the forms from www.uscis.gov and also on here too...no need for a lawyer to give you those public forms.

It seems hard but its not. You're probably going to be a better job yourself anyways instead of waiting for a lawyer to get back to you or wasting money! The hardest part is how slow the process is, and of course missing him and waiting to be together! Good luck and let us know if you need help ok?

  7. We're a bunch of love sick people! I'm so glad you're all with me in this boat...there is no land, ocean or sea that I wouldn't cross to get one kiss from him! Everyday means I'm one step closer to having him in my life forever...everyday is a day of commitment...cherish your love story and make it the very best of love story you've ever read! Have Faith, Hope and the best of all you already have...LOVE!

  8. Hi fellow filers,

It's been 16 days since our NOA2. I called the NVC today and after a huge wait on hold, a very nice agent informed me that my petition has been forwarded to the consulate!

Apparently the petition was received 5/29 and sent out to the consulate on 6/2. That's an amazing 2 business day turn around!

They also gave me a case number over the phone, which I can now view the status online here:

    https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Best of luck everyone and I hope your journeys keep moving along!

YEY! for you! Its so good to hear the good news! Funny how it doesn't matter if we've never met each other but knowing that someone is getting closer be to with their loved ones makes us happy! I'm so happy for you....Good luck at the Embassy!

  9. Found out 5 minutes ago......APPROVED :dancing: Second time around for us.

    Off to NVC.

Refiled .... it has been a difficult and very long journey. We were stuck in AP the first time around for 16 months, then refused

the visa and petition expired. Hope to succeed this time around.

Yey! I'm so happy and excited for you! I'm wishing you lots of wonderful success!

  10. They got mine at 11:32 am. I have not got an update. I hate the wait

Really? I got an email right away! I sent it overnight on Tuesday late afternoon and post office said it would be guaranteed to be there at 3pm on Wednesday. I got an updated change of status text and email from USCIS at 6:30pm. I was so surprised! Waiting is the hardest part...Have you ever heard this from a military soldier...hurry up and then wait! Yeah, looks like we will have to keep on waiting....and waiting. I just hope it'll go a little faster once its been approved!

Keep up the hope and positive thoughts! We're all in this together...I'm missing my love too!

  11. Ok... SO I sent my RFE in today (got it in the mail yesterday with what they were requesting). They requested proof of meeting in the last 2 years.... Here is what I sent:

    1. Letter I posted above (in another thread)

    2. Letter from my pastor stating he knows me and saw us together

    3. Signed church covenant (by her)

    4. Her US Visa with Stamps

    5. Her Passport with all stamped pages

    6. Her registration form from the college she attended English classes at

    7. Her College ID

    8. Copy of boarding passes coming here

    9. Itinerary for her flight to NC (She left Chicago to go to NC for a few days before she went home we do not have these boarding passes)

    10. Copy of boarding passes going home.

I hope that's enough for them.I also sent it overnight so they should have it by 3 PM tomorrow.

Did you have any receipts when you were together? Receipts are good to send in too, to show time, dates and place doing things together with photos attached. I sent in a whole bunch of receipts and photos showing when/where we were together during our first visits to show evidence that we actually met. I attached and described the receipt with the photos.

I sent in my RFE and they received it by 3pm and entered it into the system already. I'm sure that you just saw that today! Good luck to you too! Maybe they'll approve both of our petition soon!

  12. FedEx it. I haven't sent any letters/documents from the U.S.A yet but I did receive my fiancé's Intent to Marry Letter via FedEx from Tunisia. He sent it to me on a Monday and I received it on Thursday afternoon. I was surprised how fast it came! Call them to ask about sending it to Tunisia. Good luck!

  13. I'm not even close to NVC but I'm learning a lot from you all what to do next when I get there....yes more waiting and more calling...They just "touched" my RFE yesterday so now I'm waiting for them to review my evidence to see if its approved! I see no reasons why...I gave them everything again. Crossing my fingers I'm right behind all of you! Good to know that once I get my case numbers at NVC I can get the ball rolling at the Embassy! Thanks everyone and best wishes for a speedier processing time at the Embassies!

  14. Thanks! It is very exciting. Made it practically impossible to focus on work today!

Ukrainian122 - I hope things go fast for you once you get that last piece of info to them. IN the long run, a couple of weeks is nothing after all the waiting we are all doing. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I know what you mean! I'm practically driving myself a little batty too and always checking up stuff! Making sure things are done correctly...losing sleep...wondering, wondering....don't know what to tell people when they ask when I'm getting married...I'm going to get married when the groom arrives! Oh its sometimes maybe winter? Talk about asking time off for work to get married...hey boss, so sometime in winter I may need time off to get married but I'll let you know as it gets closer? Have we set a date? Ummm no, not yet but I WILL KEEP YOU posted (in a small voice...as soon as I know too!). Sighs....

I have all my fingers and toes crossed as well as all of my guts are criss-crossed-twisted in anticipation! I never thought I'd be so excited to get married again!

  15. I'm sure it will go a lot more smoothly this time. It looks like most RFE responses jump to the head of the line. Good luck, Lena & Islam!

Thanks Jefhan! I'm hoping we'll get approved before the end of June. I'm learning to not freak out and just plan to not plan! It does feel good to have everything in my hands now! Thanks to all of you for your support too! -Lena
