This advice may be controversial but your friend shouldn't consult with the fiance's parents regarding their marriage. If he wants to get married, then do it.

Believe me I have already told him this and warned it does not bode well for the future but unfortunately his fiance's parents hold a lot of sway over her and shes finding it difficult to stand up for herself. He already told me that they don't really seem to want to let them get married and are trying to drag this out so that they will go out of status or that they can apply enough pressure, that it will all fall apart. The only thing they agreed to do was back off a little if there was official docs that said you shouldn't delay until very near the end of the K1 90 day marriage period.

So a friend of mine was lucky enough to fall in love and has now entered the US on a K1 visa in the same manner that I had too a few months back, I'm now happily married and adjusting my status to LPR, but my friend unfortunately isn't being so lucky. His Fiance's parents are very pushy and don't want them to get married until the very last minute. What he really needs is something official to show them which says that's a bad idea. I know ive read around this site a number of times that you should not leave these things till the last day but can anyone point me at some official docs i can give him that state that fact?

I sent back my missing police cert and passport on Friday so hoping I should have visa in hand by end of this week.

Well I had my interview on the 22nd, and everything went great except for I forgot I needed a UK police check. so sent for that today and that should be last step.

Hello all just as a point of clarification, I filled the ds160 and submitted it online. I also have a medical scheduled for the 17th. Do I need to wait until after the medical to mail back the notice of being ready?

So finally got my case number after 3 hour hold. It was updated 8/29 and is listed as ready. I assume that means I now wait for packet 3 in the post.

Hmm that's wierd..have you tried e-mailing the embassy?

I will try that next but I may have to have my fiance call the nvc again because we have no case number from them to use.

I got through and they said my petition was sent to Dublin on the 22nd but strangely they said there was no new case number just to use the one given by Texas service center. Tried calling the embassy but couldnt get a real person on the phone> Just kept getting pre recorded messages no matter what option I picked at the menu.

HI all, I'm a little confused over what happens once my embassy receives our petition for K1 and how they contact us to tell us what to do next. I phoned the NVC today who stated that they shipped our petition already to Dublin on the 22nd August. I would imagine that it is there by now but i wasn't able to talk to anyone as when i tried to ring the embassy it just gave me lots of pre-recorded info and I wasn't able to talk to anyone. I should also note that i asked the nvc for a case number but they said just go off the original number given by Texas.

Can anyone explain what happens at this point? Will they mail me instructions?

Could someone tell me the number I need to call the nvc on to get our case number, I would really like to know if it has arrived in Dublin.

Hi all, I was notified on august 11th that my petition was shipped to the NVC. I'm a little confused as to what happens next. Do I contact them myself in a week and ask for a case number or will they contact us? How do we find out the case number to track it.

No thats my next plan, its such a fustrating process. I have seen quite a few late jan petitions approved yet we are at the very start of jan and we are sitting pending. I know we arnt the only ones but im just upset about it.

So I finally spoke to a tier 2 rep yesterday and was told my case is still pending, in other words they haven't even looked at it and that they are currently working on mid December petitions. I'm so sick of this wait.

Still waiting on my NOA2 :-(

6 months today and still nothing

Im at 5 months and 2 weeks so feeling frustrated like the rest of you. Its also making my job hang on like a thread as i already told them i was going but there are getting impatient because im still here. You cant plan anything in this process and thats the most frustrating thing.

I called and placed a service request and was told wait 30 days. There seems to be no uniform responds, also when I rang they said they couldn't provide a date that they were currently working on, seems to be luck of the draw with who you speak too.

I am at 5 months and 1 week, I called USCIS on Friday, was told that 5 months is a goal and not a promise, also that their internal processing time was 6 so expect to wait 6 months.

Well not everyone in thier can be working on December 3rd. I wonder if they do it as an average of what everyone says they are doing, for example the furthest behind adjudicator is on 10th November and the furthest forward is on 15th Jan so they do a median value of all the adjudicators.

so another one down, That makes me hopefully seems to be pretty much late december ones plus early Jan now. That may mean we are not far away

Also are you calling/sending an inquiry directly to USCIS? Any route that you choose, I hope works for you bro. I really hope its not taking a few months more, that just wouldn't be cool. I am sending good vibes your way. Keep checking that mail box.

Sorry to hear. I hope you do hear something sooner than later. Hang in there. Are you gonna contact them or the senator/congressman option?

Yeah we are going the senator route which i believe is Pat Toomey for PA. But even then i still think that we could be looking at a delay of another month maybe more.
