  1. Hi VJers,

Today is our 3-month wedding anniversary (yipee) and I will be travelling to the US tomorrow to spend two weeks with my husband...and yes, to finally get our I-130 application out. I've been on VJ since November 2013 and I must say that I have learnt a whole lot from reading posts in this forum

So, by the end of this week our Timeline will finally take on life (yeah) and I will begin to have first hand knowledge of the system and what to expect. I know that although I've been in the shadows and have gathered as much information on the starting process, I will be checking in with my VJers just to make sure that we have all that is required, before hubby actually sends off the package. We will be ensuring that our time together with friends and family are well documented for out case file.

Thank you guys for all the information you have provided on this site, to help make the process seamless for fellow members.

Wel safe flight and good luck on finally starting your paper work process....enjoy your trip

  2. This means it was shipped to kingston..it takes about 2-3 business dys for them to get it...so about tuesday to wednesday email them....provide your case number and name and ask them any question you would like...the system claims it takes 5 dys for a response but they normally respond within 2-3days.....good luck

  3. Salaam and peace ya'll! My husband has been here for a bit over a month now and we are so happy! He came as my fiance and his 10 yr old son came on a K-3 visa with him. When it was time for the winter break at school, his auntie (on the mother's side) wanted to take him to Baltimore, MD to visit for the holidays. Now they want him to live there.

Apparently, in Jamaica, it's very common for aunt and uncles to be included in the child's upbringing. He has many relatives who live in the states (again on his mother's side) and they all love him very much. Now they want him to stay with them. Their "argument" is that since my husband just arrived in the US (and cannot work yet) they don't want H to be a burden on me since I am the only one with income at the moment.

My concern is that if we allow him to live with his relatives, will it negatively impact his AOS? We won't be filing for a couple of more months and I want to be sure it won't be a problem. Any help is appreciated.

I could understand where the childs family member is coming from but i don't think you should give him to them before you file the AOS....immigration might not understand why you guys as the parents gave the child to other relatives....i hope someone on here has been through a simular situation and will be able to give you a better answer....good luck

  4. Hi guys just wondering what does AP means and is it normal . My fiance got approved on Dec. 17th and i saw it updated on the 20th of Dec. How long does it usually takre to get the visa back. Just missing my baby. :(

Mine went to issued 2days after saying ap...but as you know everyone takes its own timing....i hope yours get issued very soon....i totally understand that horrible lonely feeling....good luck

  5. No it does not include your case number...since it has been sent out this long nvc should have received it already.....call nvc give them the case number you have on your current document....they will then ask you for the petitioner and beneficiary name and date of birth...then they will give you the case number....congrats

  6. Oh wow! girl I'm very happy for you. What a birthday gift he got? To have the stress behind him and home in the arms of his love. Merry Christmas and all the best.

i'm telling you...a great b-day...they just finalized the insurance docs yesterday....thank you for all your kind words and i hope you will be done with your process before next year christmas

  7. My fiance came though JFK 2 weeks ago. We spend a few days in NYC, then came home to Florida. We noticed on her Visa they stamped "employment authorized". She was told on another forum if you go through JFK they WILL authorize employment immediately, but will not in any other POE. Does anyone have a similar story? We already applied for her SS # this week.

I notice this post was since 2010 but do they still do this at POE? has anyone received this at JFK

  8. Hi VJ ever since I've been on this site you guys have helped me a lot and I want to thank you all. you guys are a blessing... now to my story:

My journey started on Feb 22 2013 when my step mom filed the i130, It was approved there after and while at NVC we got a check list because she didn't put the date on the AOS form! Finally it was approved. On the day of the interview, the CO said that everything was OK but just two small problems...My dad put his name on my Birth Certificate 7 years after I was born and so because Jamaica is a High Fraud country he needed proof of relationship.Thank fully he didn't request DNA instead he asked for me to get pictures of me and my dad together. The only pic I had with my dad was when he was holding me when I was a baby, sadly he has been looking for it and cannot find it...The CO also requested that I get a form from my school with my dad name on it... that I have.. he also needed Joint sponsor and that I have.. Right now I don't know what to do... because sadly I don't have the money to do DNA and i'm afraid he might NOT be my dad and then everything would go to waste.. I don't know what to do... I'm depressed ! Thank you all for reading and Have a great journey smile.png

I see you got approved but I was just curious and I am pretty sure your response might help others in similar situations...what did you do? did you get the pictures or did you summit the DNA? you see you felt like you wanted to give up but God had your back.....you came thus far and it didn't make sense giving up.....never ever give up on anything until there is nothing left to fight for....I wish you all the best and happy holiday
