  1. I just called USCIS again this morning since everyone was getting different information such as multiple different notices, notices that said local office but the case was actually sent to another regional service center, etc.

My online status says it was transferred to "local office." When I called, customer service couldn't see where it was actually going to. I assumed it was NOT going to my local office (Houston, TX), since everyone seemed to be transferring to a regional service center. I got transferred to a tier 2 representative, and he told me that it was sent to the California Service Center. He also told me that my letter was mailed on 11/5/13 and that I should receive it in the mail shortly.

I mentioned to him that all of the processing times online showed Oct 1 2012 as the most recent cases approved. He tried to look through another way to find out if he could get a more accurate timeline for them. He couldn't but he said that since they all showed the same exact timelines, that it was probably wrong, and that the next updated processing times should be more accurate.

Knowing what I know from experience having been in the military and worked with the government, after all the transfers happened, they probably just all defaulted the timeline data to whatever the longest processing time was, because they probably don't have a good estimate since they pretty much just 'reshuffled the deck.' I doubt they wanted to get anyone's hopes up by showing what the timelines were BEFORE all the transfers, which I'm sure will be extended after they receive an influx of tons of more applications/petitions.

That being said, I guess I'll just wait for my letter, and wait for the processing times to be updated (only God knows how long that will take since I don't have confidence they can crunch the data and do all the math that quickly).

Has anyone received any approvals yet from California Service Center? I've seen most posts mentioning that Nebraska was the only one that was moving quickly.

  2. Today, I checked my case status and found this message:

On November 6, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

I have finally been transferred, yay! I got the e-mail notification at 5:15 a.m.

My status says "On November 5, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address."

Does anyone know if there's a big difference since it doesn't say "and will be sending you a notice explaining this action?"

  3. I just noticed the Processing time charts say they were last updated August 31.

I thought they were supposed to update every 30 days and it was around the 16th of each month that it would update?????

I've noticed that since I first checked status updates online back in March, that the processing times always seemed to be based on the 31st of two months prior. The closest update I ever saw was in September. I think it was early September and the timelines were "As of July 31." But besides that, it's usually been two months delayed.

  4. I went on the government site and when you go down to check to time of processing. There are only two offices that show up. California Service Center or Vermont Service Center it also shows a 5 month processing time. It also show the USCIS National average is 8.1 months LOL. I hit the National average in 14 days with no action but a transfer my application. If my applications go to California does that mean I will be waiting another 5 months? I will ask these question at my infopass on Friday the 15.

I think the glitches are pretty overwhelming. For the first 6 months, the only service center that popped up for me was Vermont, but the entire time, every time I called they said it was at the National Benefits Center in Missouri. THEN, NBC was the only available selection, then a month later, ALL service centers (CA, VT, TX, NE, and NBC) show up. And they ALL show a processing time of 11 months and a national avg of 11 months. VT I think shows 10.4 months when I select it though. (even though TX shows the bar graph all the way to match the 'national average' at 11 months, it actually says 'weeks' instead of 'months' below the display of the bar graph). So I'm pretty sure it's ALL screwed up and that's why I never trust what I see there, and just keep calling periodically.

I added pics of what I see (changes every week or so...)

  5. How long after we receive our 2nd notice should we receive a letter in the mail regarding where our case is?

I'm a bit nervous because I never received my receipt notice in the mail, even though they said they sent it out. (Thankfully I have a receipt number, and my case is listed on the site, and has been transferred)

I never got anything in the mail either, so I'm a bit nervous as well. I've moved since then though so hopefully the post office can deliver it to the right place now...

  6. Guys is Taxas service center the fast one or is just like NBC??? plz

Everything I've seen regarding the processing times shows, as of Aug 31, all of the regional service centers are working on cases from Oct 1, 2012, except Vermont which is about two weeks faster. I think they're just splitting a lot of the March backlog up in quarters, and sending to the other service centers, but that's just a guess. When I called today, the customer service agent said it was at a local office though, but she couldn't verify that (big surprise), so I'll call again tomorrow, and probably receive a different answer. She did say though that the local field offices should process the I-130s quicker though, since they don't normally handle those, so they'll want to get them in and out.

  7. Hi everyone, timeline is below. Just saw status change to transferred to local office today, called USCIS, and they recommended I get infopass appointment at my local office - only way they could suggest that I get any information other than "I'm sorry I can't see any processing times based on your application/receipt number/case/etc. It may be a waste of time at the appointment, but it can't seem to hurt...

Just saw this site/forum a few days ago, and just caught up with all the posts over the last few days. I can relate to everyone's thoughts and have gotten pretty much all the same questions, answers, thoughts, etc that everyone else has experienced. I'm just trying to be as patient as I can be. And I'm NOT a very patient person, so it's been tough...

Oh, and I'm from Texas, and my wife is in the Philippines. I'll be going over there this year for Christmas. I was hoping she could fly back with me, but it looks like that won't happen. Oh well, at least I get to see her again. I left PI six days after we got married and we've Skyped or Facebooked every day since. It will be good to be together again soon, even if it's just for a few weeks, until she can get approved and get over here. Good luck to everyone else also!!
