  1. I wrote to both of my Senators last week and today I received a letter telling me what a great man I am since I am a service-connected, disabled, Vietnam Era veteran, who cares?....then he goes on to tell me that he if I complete and return the privacy release form that he will look into our situation. I don't know exactly what that means, " look into it for me", but at this point I will take anything!

I am in complete agreement, checking the USCIS website to see if I have a touch every five minutes is driving me out of my mind! The ONLY thing I keep thinking of is that a K-3 visa takes longer than a K-1....for whatever that is worth....

I am so happy to see others getting their NOA2 papers! Just the same, Rong and I certainly want to see ours, too!!

I knew that this was a journey, I just didn't know it was going to be such a long and arduous one! :P

Perhaps the folks at the CSC got tuckered out approving all of the apps and their typing fingers need a rest?? Next thing you know they'll all be claiming Repetitive Stress Syndrome from doing approval after approval and wanting to go out on disability!

  2. If your case has no complicating factors I suggest saving the money you would have spent on an attorney and use it for airfare to bring you SO to the US. I know of several couples who have used attorneys and the bottom line is that the attorney sent the forms to their clients for them to provide the information required on the forms. So my question is then: What good did an attorney do for these couples? If there are complications, then by all means use an attorney. This is only MHO.

  3. Now that NOA2's are on the cusp of being approved, I am wondering if the long period of very few packages being forwarded to the embassies over the past several months has given them an opportunity to catch up on their backlogs? If so, I am hoping that new packages received by the embassies will be able to be processed much more quickly. Anyone else thinking this way or am I nuts to think such a thing might be possible?:dancing:

  4. Congratulations! Maybe there actually IS some light at the end of the tunnel which is NOT an oncoming train afterall!

CSC sent me an email telling me that they received my RFE on July 18th. Let's hope and pray that the "two weeks to process" is accurate. If it is then Rong and I will have a very happy August...

  5. Yesterday I contacted both of my senators from Indiana. One of the senator's immigration specialists emailed me today and told me that he has contacted the CSC and is awaiting more information from them. If I do not hear from them by week's end, I am to call the immigration specialist back and "formulate a plan"!! Who knows if it will actually do any good or not. This is the first time in my 51 years that I have ever contacted a US legislator before but when government begins interfering with my fiancee and my happiness my "Agent Organge starts acting up"! ala "Major Payne" :P

Time will tell if all of the communications with our congressmen which applicants are performing will do any good at all for us. It seems it is our only tool with which to use to try and "fix" the problem. Good luck to us all!

  6. I am going crazy! According to the confirmation from the USPS, my RFE arrived at the CSC on last Saturday, July 8, 2006. To date, I have not either received any e-mails nor is it showing up on the USCIS website that I have been touched sine July 5th. How long before I may hear something from the CSC notifying me that they have actually "officially" received the RFE? Is anyone else's taking this long?

I was hoping to have Rong here by this August, but now with this IMBRA business God only knows when she will be coming! Patience is not one of my stronger virtues and I believe this FUBAR IMBRA business would test the patience of Job!! Thanks for letting me rant and rave for a bit. I am soooo frazzled!:blink::help:

I am in the same boat. Our time lines are almost identical. I still have not rec'd e-mail notice on receipt of the RFE either. But it is taking CSC 7-10 days before an update, even if they update. But, I believe in the next 3-4 weeks we will receive our NOA2's. If things work logically. But it seems there is no logic to this process. Good luck, I want to have my SO here as soon as possible as well. But I think November my be a better guess or even longer given the state of processing times.

I expect you are correct.....just really positive wishful thinking on my part. The waiting is absolutely maddening! If only my fiancee lived in Canada instead of China. Then, I could drive across the border and see her with some frequency.

  7. Yippee! When I got to work this morning and checked my personal email, there it was! The message from the CSC indicating that they had received my IMPBRA RFE response was sitting there pretty as can be. :)

The message states the same as the others who have received acknowledgement from the CSC for the IMPBA RFE response...that it will not affect processing times.....yeah, riiiiiiight! Let me see...according to my calculations my Rong should be just about on her way to her interview next month.....yep, no processing delays... :P:whistle::lol:

At least there is movement of some sort on our case....that alone is reason enough to smile!

  8. Finally! Opened up my email this morning and voila!! The CSC has acknowledged receipt of my RFE response!! Now I am hoping that all we have to do is......"Follow the Yellow Brick Road.....follow the Yellow Brick Road....follow the....follow the....follow the....follow the Yellow Brick Road!" Yes, can you tell I am happy? Isn't it funny how a little thing like a "touch" can improve one's attitude for the day?? B)

Now, let's see what happens next....whenever "next" will be.....

  9. Excellent point, I have noticed the same trend. RFE gets back, then a few touches (usually 2 to 3) then nothing. I also think that once things start moving (someday) that there is going to be another bottleneck at some embassies. I really hope I am proved wrong but knowing USCIS if it is possible and if it can go wrong it will!!!!!!

At least you all have been touched since the CSC received your RFE. The USPS sent me a confirmation that the CSC received my RFE on July 9th. I have not received a single touch nor confirmation email from the SCS indicating that they have "officially" received my RfE. Called USCIS last Friday, waited on hold for 30 minutes just to have the staff member on the phone read me the same email I received on July 5th! He had no new information for me. I am beginning to get worried.... :clock:

GOD, i was jumping in front of my letterbox... people must have thoght she won in lottery.. but its similar. :jest:

after waiting 2 weeks without any sign and sending 2 e mails without respond, i tried to send them a fax, asking again if i can have my interview appointment! today, after one day i sent the fax, i got it!

God, i am already nervous now...

but now i will start to search for people for my appartment..

i want to say thanks again for all the wonderfull help from all you guys! (F)

Congrats and the very best for you both!

  12. Does anyone know of a good immigration lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia? The Embassy I am dealing with is New Delhi if that matters.

    Thanks.

First, I understand what you are going through, been there doing that.

The Consulate Officer is just doing his/her job. I am way past the angry stage being a year later. You are bait for an Attorney to sweep in and say: Your Fiancée is gone forever! In addition, for about 6-10 thousand dollars, I will help you. Yeah and the sun will not shine tomorrow… nevertheless.

When a Consulate Officer denies a K-129F petition, this is what will happen.

You will receive a form letter “unsigned” from the Consulate in Washington DC from the Country where your fiancée lives. It will probably say: After a careful review, pursuant to 9 FAM 42.43 N2.2 that a reasonable person would be convinced, a sham relationship, to evade immigration laws. bla bla.. This will arrive in about 40 days.

Then in about 7 months later you will receive from the service center that approve you petition 2 letters, One from the Consulate which is a written report to the specific reason(s) why they (the consulate officer) decided to revoke your petition. The second letter is from the service center whom approved your petition which now reads; SERVICE MOTION TO REOPEN WITH INTENT TO DENY here you will have a chance to rebut the consulate officers findings (In fairness to you)

Then 2 months later (if you are successful) you will receive from the same service center that approved your petition initially a letter of DECISION that states; After review of the record, including any response you have sent to this office, the approval of the petition is reaffirmed and the petition will be forwarded to the Consulate/Embassy who denied your petition.

Hope this gives you an idea of what is before you. This is what I’m going through now and I found no information on the web as to what the “procedures” are, to a petition the is revoked with intent to deny by a consulate officer.

I feel if you do not challenge the consulate officers findings, that decision will haunt any new K-129 or even the 130 petitions should you marry and think… this will work… Nope, The Consulate Officer has all the reason to deny you once again. Think about it… I did and went this way.

However, this is my decision and my avenue to follow.

Oh, I am still waiting for a new interview day for my fiancée. Should happen in the next few months. If you really love him/her this is nothing but time. Keep busy and stay healthy because I love you and soon we will be together. I say this daily to her. =-)

Okay, I stand corrected. However, on the surface, with no additional descriptive information, it is most simple to complete the forms yourself and save the money. Had Sakurasama provided further clarification then of course, I would have agreed that they consultwith an attorney. Be it known that I have seen so many people spend three thousand and more dollars for an attorney who do nothing more than act as a "mail drop" for their clients. The clients must still complete the forms, or at least provide all of the requested information to the attorney for him/her to complete, so what good is the attorney at that point? Given extenuating circumstances such as is apparently present, then the advice of a good attorney may well be prudent. That is all. Jeepers....all this for my opinion....golly!

    Thanks.

The forms you need to complete are pretty straightforward and then there is VJ if you have any questions. My suggestion is to do this yourself and save the money you would spend on an attorney for your honeymoon! You really do not need the services of an attorney for this. IMHO, of course.

  14. I call cell to cell so it costs about......................$250 a month-about a year ago I was spending $1.65 a minute, I got a phone bill once for $900.00-I almost passed out.

the things you do for love (L)

I use www.dynasky.com and use their e-card for my calls to China. Using a local access number, the rate for me to call China is 0.02/minute! Two cents a minute! For twenty dollars I can afford to homestead on the phone with my lady and not worry about it! I have always had very good connections and it works like a charm!

Oh, I almost forgot, we also use Yahoo! IM as we both have webcams and headsets. We can text, use voice, and see each other all at the same time. It really makes us feel much closer when we can actually see other's expressions! Get webcams, they're GREAT!

  15. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I finally DID receive a response from the administrator of Singlesburg. Although they did not supply me with their address, they did state that they are not a marriage broker....they advised me to check their "Terms and Conditions" which I did. You can either be a free member or pay. And it is not exclusive for USCs. I checked "No" to question #1, signed and dated the form, made copies and sent it off to California. Here we gooooooooo......!!

    stevea,

When one does not know something, 'unknown' is an appropriate answer. (Although it is not appropriate, and may cause problems, if one does know and choses to conceal that knowledge.)

    Yodrak

Just received my RFE yesterday and was getting ready to complete it when I noticed on Question #1 it asks for the name of the international marriage broker and where it is located. We met on www.Singlesburg.com and nowhere on their site can I find an address for them. I wrote an email to the site, asking for their address. I am uncertain if they will respond. Has anyone else had this problem of trying to find the address of their IMB?

Jeepers, it was difficult enough before, now it is maddening!

  16. I overnighted it to:

    California Service Center

    24000 Avila Road, 2nd Floor, Room 2312

    Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

On June 28. They go it on the 29th at 10am. They emailed me that they got my RFE on July 3. So, it might be faster but I"m not sure...

i used overnight with usps and used the address on the rfe. send it last wednesday about 1pm and was there next day at 9 am.

I did the same thing from Ilinois. It cost me $14.40 and the delivery is guaranteed. I guess I am paranoid, but I am afraid to deviate from any process unless absolutely necessary.

Sent RFE back to CSC via USPS Priority Mail. I saved the $10 for overnight mail and put it towards my airfare for a visit to China in September. ;)
