  1. I am filling my N400 online with the 5-year rule. I have read so many people saying I should upload 5 years of tax info, yet the Online application does not request them, and the guide only mentions it when talking about not being in the US for x amount of time.

    So far, I've only uploaded my husband's divorce certificate, my GC, my marriage certificate... but now I'm wondering if I should go ahead and look for the past 5 years of income tax ... so from 2019-2023.

    Am I missing something? What should I do about the taxes?!!

  2. You guys!

    My case status message has finally changed. It says the following:

    We mailed your document for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACXXXX XXXX. If you do not receive your document by October 5, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    I have been waiting for my permanent residency for sooo damn long! is this finally it??!!!

    My wife was 6/23/15. Her window opened on 3/25/18. We are still pending ROC however filed N400 on 3/31/18.

    Good luck

    OH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

    GOOD LUCK! I HOPE ALL GOES WELL! I'm thrilled to know this. I literally had no clue I was eligible. I strangely believed I had to wait 3 years AFTER I got my Conditions removed, so you can imagine my shock! lol!

    No. Your proof of status/residency expires then, not the status itself

    Nope.

    Nope. You can get it before expiry (typically in the 30 days before) after expiry (anytime), or choose not to get it at all.

    Nope. If still living in marital union (which is not the same as being married), they can apply at any time from 90th day BEFORE that date.

    So what you are saying is I can apply for the Naturalization 90 days BEFORE 6/9/18 ?? in other words.. now????!!

  5. So I understand that these questions are repetitive so I appreciate you taking your time on mine.

    MY INFO :    My Conditional Resident Card says I am a Resident since : 6/9/15  the Expiration was on 06/09/17

    My I-751 was received on June 5, 2017 (we had so much stuff going we were almost late, but got it in before the expiration date) I received the year extension letter from them and have heard NOTHING back.

    SO, that means that my residency expires on  06/09/18 correct? and only if I am going to travel, change jobs or renew my DL I don't have to do anything...correct?

    If I were to travel, after/before the exp. date I must get a stamp that will serve as a kind of validation of my status, but is there a time frame to getting one? like do I have to get the stamp before certain date because I couldn't after that?

    I have read about applying for your citizenship with the N-400 but I'm not sure I  really understood  hahaha.  I read that it was 3 years after the Permanent Residency so does that mean that  I would be eligible  6/9/18 ???

    If so does that have some kind of time frame as of when after I can apply? like 90 days after or something like that???

    if you have articles or if you can direct me to a similar question to mine please post it here!

    I appreciate you!

  6. Hi guys!

    I applied to remove my conditions on June 5, 2017! I received a letter some weeks later that extended my residency for a year, but it is almost a year since then! what and when am I supposed to be alarmed or what should I do?

    I am in Texas 3 hrs from Dallas (If you  need to know).

    Also, I read something earlier about applying for your citizenship even if you haven't received your PRC. I have been here in the US for almost 4 years. When am I eligible to request my citizenship?! I thought it was some years after your PRC! can someone clarify this for me.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Gracias!

  7. Hi everyone!

    So, the date is here. It is time for me to finish my change of status packet.

    I will go from being a conditional resident to a permanent recident.

    I have a couple of "problems".

    When it comes to the evidence, there is many things that my hubby and I don't have and I'm afraid that it will look bad!

    1. We don't have a lease or utility bills on our name...why? Because we are living in my in-law's ranch. We just split the bill :/ so unfortunately we don't have it to our names.  I'm guessing that since I plan on sending affidavits, that one of them be my mother in law stating these facts...what do you guys think?

    2. My driver's license has the address of where we live and for some reason my husband has his with a p.o. box of a property his family has in another little town near where we live. But his handgun permit card DOES have the address of where we live.

    3. We don't have kids. Ugh...why? Because we have decided we want to enjoy our marriage as much as we can without a child. Then maybe in the future we may have kids, but we just don't want any at the time.  Will this look bad? Haha

    4. Would printing out text messages thst we send each other be good? We literally have THOUSANDS. Obviously I would only print a few of every other month since we have been married. Or something like that?

    My green card's expires on June 6, 2017.

    And we are located in the north east side of Texas.

  8. Hey y'all...

    I just got married on July 12, 2014 with the love of my life and have been living in Texas since May 3, 2014.

    I am in the middle of my AOS process.... but was wondering if anyone could enlighten me with what I would have to do now or later to bring my mom. I miss her so much and worry about her.. she is older and I would love her to come. Especially since we plan to have kids (not yet...but in like a year or so) is there some way to request her coming here? if my husband signs as an affidavit?

    thank you so much for any information.

    Gracias.

  9. Hi Everyone... I sent my AOS on July 29 and got an email giving me a receipt number, so I looked in the USCIS webpage to check on my status.... it says as followed...

    On July 31, 2014, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

    I know it's quite logical what it means... but I was wondering if you guys could tell me what should I expect... I live in Texas 3 hours from Dallas... will I have an interview there? and what kind of questions would they ask?

    also, is there a fee for the interview? any other fees? ....

    thank you so much!!

  10. I went to a clinic in Tyler Texas... the staff was VERY nice and the nurse in charge of the paper work for the Immigration physicals and stuff (Monica) was very understanding and super nice. The cost of ONLY the vaccination record reviewed and signed by the Physician Dr. Lester it was I think 50 Dollars. I didn't need any shots.

  11. Hey Guys! Im sure you all have seen this over and over.... but I have many questions unanswered after reading through all my research on the site.

    First of all.. I am Mexican and have been in Texas since May 3, 2014. I got married on July 12. I had been so busy with wedding things and adjusting to the changes, that I hadn't really had much time to work on my AOS.

    I found on the government page a checklist which I have here with me. Yet I have specific questions on some of them... Im sorry if some seem pretty stupid questions...

    *Form I-485 :

    - Where it asks my last name....Should it be my new last name (My husband's last name) or the one I have in my passport and with which I got my K1 visa? my name in my birth certificate is Fernanda Cortes but since Im now married... Fernanda Odum?

    - A- number... it sounds familiar...am I supposed to have one? see, Ive been away from paper work for 2 months and feel all confused. Is it the Alien case number?

    - Expires on: does it refer to the date the Officer wrote on the stamp or the expiration date of my passport?

    * Copy of Passport (biographical page and stamp) and copy of visa (no questions here) :) (hahah)

    * Electronic copy of I- 94 (HAVE IT)

    * Copy of birth certificate:

    -Should I send an original rather than a copy? I had 2 sent via mail from mexico... or should I hold on to the originals?

    - The birth certificate is in Spanish... I know they state it should be translated but I talked to a friend I made in ciudad Juarez, she was also applying for her K1 visa.. she said she already sent her AOS and did not send it translated. She told me if its in spanish its ok... is it true?

    * Copy of marriage Certificate...

    -must it be a certified copy?

    * G325a... I will do it shortly...

    * 2 passport pictures (will take them tomorrow)

    * I 693 Medical Exam.

    - I had a medical exam taken on Ciudad Juarez on April, 2014. so I think that should do... but I read about vaccination requirements (DS3025)

    and I have no clue what the DS3025 IS! I have a sheet they gave me at the clinic in Juarez with a CD, I think of my thorax? The sheet has only typed in my information (name, case number, date and panel physician name and signature) I need a lot of help with this requirement...as you can see I'm totally lost hahha

    * I-864 affidavit of support:

    -My husband was working in the Postal Service when he applied for my K1 visa. But he resigned 2 moths ago. He is starting his own business. How much can this affect ? any tips or suggestions on how to fill out?

    * Copy of NOA2

    - is that the letter we got in the mail when we were filing for the K1 visa?

    * Im going to apply for the 1-765... will the stuff be sent in the same packet... to the same government office? and if I do what are the requierements? Will they see it as a bad thing that I would want to work given the fact that I came with a K1 visa? will they think wrong?

    * I-131... Is it for a specific travel date? or will it allow me to travel if I want... whenever I want before the green card?

    OMG THANK YOU GUYS SOOO MUCH!!! the date the immigration officer placed on the stamp on my passport is July 31.. Does that mean I must have sent the paper work by then or married?

  12. Contact the Juarez consulate and ask them what you should do. I believe they will need to reseal the papers for you. I know you did not stay in Juarez, so ask them if it is possible to get the packet resealed by sending the papers back and forth through DHL again, or if it is a must that you return to Juarez in person.

    I will do that! but unfortunately the embassy is closed until monday! Im scared because my flight is on May 3rd!

    :/

  13. Thank you SOOOOOO much. This is very re-assuring. I appreciate you getting back so quick. Congrats on your visa!! Also wish you the best in everything!!! :) thank you thank you thank youuuuuu

    NO PROBLEM! I know exactly how you and your guy feel!!! I was so stressed and nervous! especially cus my case was "difficult" given the fact that I had overstayed a turist visa as a child. So I was maybe facing a 10 year bar! but guess what?!!! God was so good to me.. they approved the visa! wow!

    Remember he just has to be honest... they will really take that in to consideration! I think I just got "lucky" (blessed) and didnt have to go through a waiver. But I think it was God and my confidance (which I had to forse myself to have hahaha) He will be fine!

    Im so glad that you guys are at the "last" steps to finally being together... I am now comfused at what the NEW process will be... the Change of status...but I dont want to stress over it yet....ONE STEP AT A TIME! :D

  14. OK, So I have FIANALLY picked up my Fiancee visa at the DHL! woohoo!

    Im so happy I will be going to my baby on May 1st. woohoo!

    Now, the thing IM kind of concerned about is.. I opened the DHL packet where I found my passport, a yellow packet/envelope and some instruccions. PROBLEM IS.. the yellow envelope is ripped at the bottom!!! look at the picture! SHOULD I TAPE IT? OR WHAT CAN I DO? Im afraid it can rip more!

  15. I just got my K1 visa approved!!! I had my interview in CIUDAD JUAREZ.

    First of all... I must explain to you it is very safe! my fiance was soooo nervous of me going there by myself (since he wasnt able to come with me, because of his job) He was literally freaking out and asking me to not even go to the store hahahahah!

    The consulate area is very well taken care of... the hotels around there are safe! I stayed at the QUALITY INN Hotel. It was a good hotel to stay in... a few steps from where it ALL goes down.

    I had my Medical exam on the international something Laboratory... On March 31, 2013.You should make sure he makes an appointment prior to it... AAAAND ask him to NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE who will talk to him on the street on his way to the Medical... they will scam him and ask him if he has all the papers done and ... and even say.."you are going to the medical? come in here!" dont! He should know the exact location of the medical prior to the appointment so he can just go straight to the place without asking strangers! I really dont understand how they can allow these scammers on the street! they are right there! ... any ways... he shall not worry.. just walk to the place and ignore anyone outside... once inside the personal will be there to help!

    He needs a copy of his letter from the consulate that says "present this letter at your interview, if you do not, you will be turned away" , a copy of his DS 160 confirmation page, and his passport. Pictures WILL BE TAKEN IN THE LABORATORY! you do NOT need to take your own! ok! I dont know about the other authorized laboratory but the one I went to.. "laboratorio internacional..something something" once you walk in, you must ask where you take your picture because its the first thing you must do... take the picture ...it is exactly on a line to his right (in that laboratory) he will get in line and wait to take a pic... the "photographer" will ask him for his passport and a copy of those things... AND then will ask him to get in line to talk to the receptionist... Make sure He tells the receptionist he has an appointment made because there is a HUUUUGE line for those who didnt make an appointment prior to it... so.. after the picture, in line to talk to the receptionist and give him the documents (he only showed them to the photographer) and then she will direct him to his line. After he gets in that line of people who made his appointment.. he will talk to a woman in a window who will ask him his name, ask him for his passport and some minor things about him then will give him a bracelet and will direct him to another room where he will take the different medical exams (depending on your case). After the medical, they will ask you to get in line to pay for it, and theeen they will tell you at what time come and pick up the packet. HE MUST NOT OPEN IT.

    Ok, then I had my Picture/Fingerprint appointment on April 1. The "interview" is very quick.. I had it at 3:30 and since my hotel was only a few steps away.. I left the hotel at 3:20 which is perfect because they wont let you in untill it is 3:30 exact. the security guards outside the door can answer his questions... I think he only needs his DS160 confirmation copy and his passport. I think. On the door of the interview place there is a list of what you need... anyways.. He will be told when to come in and pass through security and then go with a receptionist who will ask him for these documents. then he will be told what window he must go to and they will take a picture and his fingerprints..that's it! veeery quick .. I was out in like 20 min.

    Ok so my Consular interview was on April 5. We had some time in between which allowed me to fix all the paper work and be calm hahaha.. Ok, so I had my interview at 7:15 am... I was there at 6:30am which I think was great because even tho there were many people..not as many as there was about to be! hahaha... so I got in this line. and they asked me for a copy of the DS160 and passport ah, and that letter that says you must present it or you will be turned away. They will give him a number and will be asked to sit and wait... he must be paying attention because a dude will be calling out numbers.. and asking those numbers to get in a line...then when he is told to get in a line, he and the people in line (like 10 people) will be asked to go outside and get in this line to enter the CONSULATE... there he will go through some security checks and then be told what building to go to.. and if I dont recall wrong they will give him a ticket number... once he goes in the building they will instruct him what window to go to. There he will be asked for ALL the documents... like birth cert., passport, financial packet..blah blah... then they will give him another ticket! with another number and will be told to sit in a chair... there he MUST PAY EXTRA attention to the tv because it will be showing so many numbers... for example

    5676> 48

    3245< 55

    6234> 32

    the numbers have NO ORDER! so he must pay attention.. if his number is for example... 3245 he must go to window 55 .. the problem is... the top number is always in RED ... that doesn mean its the one he needs to pay attention to.. all of the numbers are "calling" numbers even if the number is in BLACK ..he must pay attention to it.. the red is just because it's the NEW number that came on the screen, I think.. but it is not "better" or the number to look at only... _(I dont know if I made myself clear)

    Ok, once his number appears on the tv. he must walk to that window and he will be in his interview. There a consular officer will ask him who is pettiitoning for him, if he has commited any crimes, has any tattoos? and so on.. (the questions vary I guess) Mine was super quick.. less than 5 min. She only asked me that and when was the last time I was in the US, and stuff... then she said.. Your visa has been granted!!!! :D she gave me a Green slip that tell you how you can track your packet.. of the visa (they dont return your passport to you that day) theypassport will come in the packet with the visa.

    Ok, well I hope this loong and crazy attemp to explaining how it happened helps him and you at least a little.

    I dont recall having to fill any other form in there... so yeah..no.

    Tell him to calm down! he must try and be secure of what he is doing..(even if I think we all dont really know.. untill you are doing it) He will have the help of the staff INSIDE the buildings! so dont be stressed. You can also have him ask the Hotel Receptionist where exactly he must go to for each interview, if he is not sure...

    I WISH YOU AND HIM ALL THE SUCCESS IN THE WORLD!
