What I am curious about is the flood of I-129F filed to seek the K3 Visa. Anxiously looking to see if anyone gets a K3 through. Or will they be hosed.
I filed for the I-129F to seek the K-3 Visa two weeks ago. I have not received neither a NOA or email confirmation. I wonder if they're backlogged on that too.

Hehe.. I was pissed for a second. But the OP made this account 2 days ago so I don't buy it.
In happier news, the USCIS processing times for us has been updated! They say they're taking 7.4 months as the average!

Yes you can apply. I'm a school teacher and I've worked with many teachers that had foreign credentials. (India, Nigeria, England, etc.)
Applying at a private or charter school is a great idea. Also, inquire as to which schools can validate your credentials, here. In NYC, I know that Bank Street College does it. Call the college of education at the nearest American university when you get here and ask them about this.

Hi Bryman,
They won't reject you... just send you an RFE. Then you just send in the necessary things.
Here's a link to the guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1
I'm sorry if I come across as harsh... but why did you not even look into this before sending everything off? It's so easy to find out what to do and now you've probably wasted $420 and a lot of months before they even get back to you to deny it.
Yes you are being harsh on him. He's new and maybe didn't know about this. It's not like the official USCIS website spells it all out.
No, he won't lose the $420. They'll just ask him to send in the missing stuff by way of an RFE.

Do not submit anything you're not comfortable submitting. A marriage cert, divorce decree if applicable, pictures, and a joints lease or mortgage, car insurance, utility bills, etc. will suffice if you do not want to submit bank and CC info.

People! No negative thinking! No raining on our parade!
Let's collectively try the "power of positive thinking". Whether you believe in it or not, try it out.. Pray if you're religious, visualize it if you're not...
Let's try to imagine the NOA2 arriving... it's in the mail truck.... it's in our mail box.... it's in our hands.. we open the envelope... "approved!"
Let's really try to be more optimistic!
The USCIS is not trying to screw us over. Government entities tend to work slow. Let's try to change our way of thinking and keep hoping for the best.!

It means that your case will be adjudicated soon since it's no longer in the black hole (NBC). Being transferred is a good thing. I wish my case was transferred.
-
VSC is faster than the NBC. I read on here they're adjudicating petitions faster and aim to finish up by Christmas.
-
Mksobe, I'm with you on everything you said....
It's not fair. As for the person who was adjudicated in 20 days, it was probably a DCF, anyway.
I want to be with my spouse. Enough is enough! Why are K1s and F2As getting preferential treatment over us????

.........................and you come in here, a self-help internet forum asking for help?
What's wrong with you?
Talk to an experienced immigration lawyer BEFORE even thinking about filing any immigration paperwork! Preparation is KEY to success in life. You should already know about that.
Mark Ellis is a well known lawyer here specializing in Vietnam-related petitions. TALK to him NOW!
You can afford it. So use your money to buy happiness before it's too late!
lol you're jealous

IF they can approve a K-1 in 2 weeks, why is processing a CR1 in 5 months such a huge ordeal??? It is a joke... I completely agree
Its not 5 anymore. its 11 months
-
Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything but that's so unfair.... esp to us CR1 peeps
-
If I file a K3, will my I-130 be touched sooner? Not necessarily approved sooner but will it at least be touched sooner?
-
They both get converted to a green card, eventually.. but why are people on VJ saying that the CR-1/IR-1 is "superior" to the K3?
-
KT, I am sorry for what you're going through.
I also went through a divorce and mine was pretty nasty. Try to find peace in the fact that things can only get better from here. Life might seem rough for now and that it "sucks" but I promise you that things WILL get better. You'll rebuild your life back in Canada, see old friends and make new ones like someone mentioned. Your situation is rough and it might hurt now but this will make you stronger.
Please don't look at yourself as failing. Just as a learning experience... I learned a lot from my divorce and eventually I found someone that really makes me happy (even though we live 5000 miles away from each other while we wait and wait and wait for a "piece of paper" that tells us we can live together under the same roof...)
Lots of hugs!!! We're here for you as your VJ family

I meant a website like VisaJourney with a forum where I can interact with members, etc.
-
Is there a website or forum much like VisaJourney for people who plan on moving or immigrating to Canada?
If so, can someone point me in that direction?
Thanks!

Are you filing J-1 or K-1? I'm confused... as far as I know there is no packet 3 for J-1

this coming nov 28 me and my husband celebrating a 2nd wedding anneversary and hopefully we can received a gitf from uscis we need noa2
Jennybateman,
Wow! You filed in 2011! The way the USCIS is handling your case is UNACCEPTABLE!
Your husband (or whoever the petitioner is) needs to file an e-request, ASAP! Go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do
Click on the link and follow the e-request. They are supposed to get back to you in a relatively short time (< 30 days.. they got back to me that quick) since you are well past the processing time!
Also, make sure that the petitioner contacts his / her local congressman/woman!!!
They should act on your case QUICKLY.
-
The CR1 route will take you well over a year! You'd have to wait in Canada too.
Have her bring you over via the K-1 route. Those are getting adjudicated much faster!
-
The K-1 fiance route is definitely the fastest. Have her go to the US and submit the petition to bring you via the K-1 visa.
