  1. You have so many wrong answers.

They have gotten stricter due to the Govenor of California a few years ago firing all the people on the Board of Nursing for the poor job they were doing, and yes now they have gotten stricter.

They are still accepting international applicants and issuing license, Where you got the answer they are not accepting international applicant is mind blowing.

    The issue is concurrency

Go to All Nurses and read all about it in the World Nursing....

I agree on the issue about the "not hiring any international applicants". As far as I know, they do as long as you get your credentials evaluated and you take extra units in CA to be eligible to take the nclex.

In my opinion, it's very unlikely to have fake documents when it comes to the credentials like the school transcripts and local rn license. When I did mine, my school was the one who filled up the form for cgfns, and they were also the ones who sent my credentials to cgfns (of course I shouldered the courrier fee lol) and I personally think it's hard to counterfeit that because it is signed by the school registrar plus it is stamped and sealed and printed in a special paper lol but that's just me though. Same goes with my local rn license in the PH. I went to PRC (professional regulation commission), they were the ones who filled up something that cgfns needed and they were also the ones who sent my license verification directly to cgfns. I wasn't able to personally hold any of those credentials. Lol

But I don't know though. My answers are solely based on my personal experience.

  2. Hi! Based on my personal experience, i originally took my nclex rn for the state of California on 2010. I studied in a university in the Phils and they didn't have any problems with my credentials as it was evaluated by cgfns. They needed my local rn license in the Phils though. They didn't issue me a card for my license since I didn't have a social security number yet that time. When I passed the nclex they just sent me a letter saying they needed my ssn and that my file will be destroyed in 3 years if I fail to send them my ssn. 2012 is when it was supposed to be "destroyed". Didn't mean I need to take the nclex again, cuz results are retained. Just means that need to resend docs and I didn't wanna go through the hassle of doing all of those. What I did was, before it expired, I transferred it to Texas. They seem to be fast about it. I got my license number and rn certificate in a month or two after processing my endorsement. They didn't ask for my social security number. Lol However, it was only a single-state license although Texas is supposedy a compact state (meaning you can practice with your rn license to 24 other states). Now I'm here in the US and in the process of endorsing my rn license from TX to the state where i'm currently residing.

Based on my experience, if you were to get your BSN in the Phils, just make sure it's a university. It shouldn't be a problem because our curriculum is based on US standards and our medium of instruction is English. Trust me on this, as I am a concrete example. Lol anyhow, good luck on whatever you decide on doing. Being a nurse is a very rewarding and fulfilling profession. :)

  3. I had my interview yesterday, wife and I walked into USCIS office 5 minutes late (9:35 am was the time we were supposed to be in) We went through security gate, and set down. My name was called within a minute, and thought that was way too fast. We met with our interviewer and greeted each other. We walked through the halls of many doors, and finally arrived at the destination, his office.

We set down and took our oath's, then proceeded to ask us questions.

Interviewer: So your name is (Name) and you were born in (Country)?

    Interviewee: Yes

Interviewer: When and Where did you both meet?

Interviewee: We met in (Month / Date / Year) in (Location)

Interviewer: How do you know the exact date?

Interviewee: That was my wife's birthday.

Interviewer: When is your birthday / What is your address ?

Interviewee: We said our birthday and address.

Interviewer: Have you ever done drugs / have or had problems with police / or assisted in Terrorist organization in anyway

    Interviewee: No

And that was it, he said well that will be all I am needing, so everything is looking good your green card should come in within 90 days.

Then he explained about conditional green card, and filing for citizenship years after etc etc.

He gave me a paper saying

Your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required you will recieve a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will recieve a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed to you once your case is complete.

After we thanked each other, and left the office. I didn't like the words that were on my paper but interview seemed really good, and actually we both were suprised because we prepared alot of stuff, went over questions they might ask, but I did not even get to open my bag to provide him with (Pictures, Documents, Birth certificates, joint bank accounts, lease, and all the other goodies everybody prepares)

Only thing he checked was our ID and my passport along with EAD.

Anyways regardless of the paper I shrugged the uneasy feeling off and walked out of the office in 10 minutes. I went and did my daily stuff, and went to sleep with no notice changing. I woke up this morning with a text message on my phone, notifying me that my USCIS Case has been updated. I got slightly nerveous and checked my status.

On July 22, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to

    www.uscis.gov/addresschange

to give us your new mailing address

I am guessing order the new card as in green card, I guess I have been approved :)

Congrats!!! :) it would really be appreciated if you filled in your timeline:) thanks :)

  4. My wife was hired as an RN at a private long-term care facility on the same day she interviewed, which was a couple of weeks after she applied.

The hiring process for her job with the Feds took about three months.

    Thank you for the answers:)

What's "the Feds" mean?lol and also, do you happen to know what were asked of her on the interview? Lol thanks again:)

  5. I think you are right about location, there are some areas that are saturated with RN's, but most need help, especially nursing homes. I am an RN and it didn't take me long to get a job. I worked at a Rehab center for under a year right after I got my license. A year later I was working in a hospital. Hospitals for the most part want BSN nurses, especially those who have at least 1 year experience due to the MAGNET status most hospitals are going for. For me, even though I have a good sized hospital 2 minutes from my house, as my first job and hospital job, I had to travel 40 minutes to work daily. Hopefully OP you find a job soon.

Thank you:) I appreciate it:) Is the hiring process long over here? Or do they tell you right away if you got the job or not? Lol

I noticed that if you have atleast 1 yr experience as a nurse, you will be able to find jobs compared to new grads.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it:)

  6. I just received the EAD/AP combo card today. It took exactly one week after I received the approval notice.

I'm frustrated :( it's been over a week since I got the approval notice and still nothing :( did they send you a tracking number for it? Thanks and congrats!!

Just want to let you know guys, after my interview yesterday, I got an offer letter today (on a Saturday). I feel so blessed, after almost felt like giving up. 2 weeks after I got my EAD card, I finally got a job.

Don't lose hope guys! I had offered a job before but lose it because of the delayed EAD. After getting my EAD, I went to 4 interviews and felt like giving up. But now finally got it.

To God be the Glory! Goodluck to those looking for jobs.. You will get it soon :) Happy weekend! Never ever lose confidence! More so Hope!

Wow!! Congrats!! Was it hard? Could you share your experience? Lol what kind of job did you get? Haha sorry I'm just thrilled. Thanks!!

  7. Are you two planning on marrying eventually?

If so, maybe you could save a lot of time and money by getting married sooner rather than later.

That way, she could come to the U.S. on a fiancée visa or a spousal visa, get a Social Security number, and apply for the NCLEX-RN.

If her transcripts are evaluated as having satisfied the concurrency requirements, she could self-study and then take the NCLEX-RN.

Based on personal experience, I'm guessing that nurses from the Philippines have a much higher passing rate than 28%.

I'm from the Philippines and passed my NCLEX RN in one take without enrolling in a review center and just studied it myself so you're probably precise about that passing rate being higher than 28%. Lol

  8. Same situation here. I got approved on June 25, got my approval letter on the 29th, still no card yet. Yesterday, July 9, my case status online was updated and i received an email of the update. Guess what......the update stated that my EAD had been approved and i will be receiving an approval notice soon, really? I already got the approval notice 10 days ago......lol.

No tracking number received yet ....so what else to do but to....wait.....wait....wait.....wait.

Congratulations for the new approvals and those who received their cards already. Happy Friday everyone.

It's taking so long for them to send the actual card and it's not cool. Lol i wanna have my driver's license asap that's why i need to have it soon. Lol

Poledancer it can take two weeks to receive it in the mail. There have been cases of USPS losing stuff. Do you have a tracking number? I would start checking just for piece of mind. I'm sure you'll have it soon.

I've had my case expedited. It gave me a new referral # and said the case was assigned to an agent. Now it says completed. Anyone have an idea of what that means?

No tracking number has been provided to me yet :(

  9. I was approved on the 24th, and supposedly it was delievered today according to the tracking number, I did not check in person yet. According to the tracking number, card was shipped to me yesterday

The card was shipped from Montana on July 6th, and was delivered this morning to California at 12pm. I guess they air shipped it, it was super fast lol

It was supposed to arrive tomorrow, but I will take it xD

Wow! I didn't know that they actually give us a tracking number for the card lol I got my approval notice last Friday and it was approved on June 27th but I still haven't gotten the actual card from the mail yet. How long did you wait from getting the NOA2 until getting the card? :) congrats!!
