  1. Since you are looking for pro and cons there really isn't a valid list that fits everyone. What one person finds good other would find pointless.

Any case the main reason to keep dual-citizenship.

    1. Enjoy the benefits of being a citizen of both countries.  (obviously Pakistan has less benefits to offer its citizens but it still has them)

    2. Laws for foreign nationals apply. You have to report your stay in Pakistan to the police etc, many are not enforced anyways but who knows countries can become progressive.

    3. You lose NICOP as soon as you relinquish your Pakistani citizenship. So that free entry into Pakistan is gone. You would have go apply for a POC card(Also visa free entry for foreign nationals)

    4. Certain bank accounts/tax/business accounts are not allowed for foreign nationals.

    5. Many government funded schemes are not allowed for foreign nationals. For example, you would not be allowed to partake in the Hajj Scheme that is funded partly by the Pakistan government yearly.

    and Cons (not many)

    1. Renewal Fees on multiple IDs for both countries.

    2. That's about it. The US passport states your country of birth so if you think you can hide your background just because you have a US passport think again.

    Oh last thing

NICOP renewal requires you to enter details for US passport that would automatically make you dual-citizen.

  2. Alright someone had asked me this question and i really couldn't find any info on this so here it goes.

What is the proper way for Applying for a parent of US Citizen who is already in the USA on a B1 visa. Does the parent need to go back and go through consular processing or can application be adjusted here?

  3. It would be highly insensitive and I humane to joke about it. Not sane person would do that.

I tried to find the BBC Documentary in archives but haven't had luck and enough time to research. But here is the source along with many more article that you will find with simple Google search.

    http://m.dw.com/en/illegitimate-newborns-murdered-and-discarded/a-17582853

I understand the inhumane/insensitive nature of this discussion and i do agree.

When i said sources i was referring to this line.

"So technically, no one is unmarried with children."

I was just curious where that came from.

There is no doubt that feticide/infanticide is common in 3rd world countries.

  4. Hey Hussain,

USCIS Forms are pretty straight forward and can be filled/prepared by anyone as long as the info is correctly stated at the end of the form who filled it.

I'm assuming if you are looking on Craigslist, you are trying to save money by not hiring a lawyer. Then you can also yourself money but not paying some dude just to type in some letters. You will be providing all the data, the person will just be inputting it into a form. If you can find this website and make an account it is easier then this my friend.

There are many guides on this website.

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides

You should start at "Begin Here"

And you will find out that Immigration Forms are not a big deal at all. Hope this helps.

If you still are not 100% satisfied with yourself completing this task, then i suggest you go to a Paralegal/Lawyer.

  5. Accordingly to BBC documentary, the children are murdered secretly. So technically, no one is unmarried with children.

I Hope you were joking when you said this. If not i would really love a source so i could be enlightened as well. As far as i knew the mother was shunned/bad-mouthed.

Also i have seen a trend here on VJ recently, people take out pitch forks very early. You guys do realize venting your anger at an internet post won't really do much, Yes the OP lied on his application let us try to move on from that and tell him politely, Hey OP You Got Lucky Once, You really want to try your luck again. Because you will get caught in your lies and mess up your case.

    See simple.

  6. People in this thread have been a little harsh but they are correct. OP, Resident Card is residing not visiting the USA which you ARE doing. Any CBP or CO will know what you are doing and will find a way to make your life miserable. You can technically be correct and maybe the officer who does review your case says eh oh well, or you could get someone to screw you over.

Anyways it is still your choice. The method you are doing right now while it is legal, it isn't advised because you leave yourself open to being questioned. Heck once you do apply for your naturalization they could just put your file in AP which really has no time limit.

  7. What you were thinking before was illegal and now that you understand and have moved to apply for F2A category which is the proper way to do this is great.

Student Visa cannot have dual intent as well. Getting a student visa for the purpose of coming to the USA to marry and stay here will raise red flags and deny your case. So it is a good thing you have decided to do F2A and just do your application asap and everything should go smoothly for you.

I BELIEVED YOU TRUST YOU. BUT I GOT A CHANCE FOR FREE WITH LAWYER AND ASKED DIFFERENT OPTIONS.

There were no different options, and that is what i think JFH was referring to. The only option you had was F2A.

Anyways Good luck in your petition.

  8. Fighting between the two of you is really amusing but lets just answer the question he asked.

There is no shortcut OP. 2 years getting your spouse is really as good as it will get for a green card holder.

Do not go for option of Visa and try to adjust status. That will complicate the case and make is much harder on both of you. First of all most visas you cannot have the intent to immigrate and they will deny you if you do that.. H1b does have dual intent but h1b is mostly given to professionals (doctors, engineers etc.. ) who have an established career and then they decide "oh i want to get married and already in usa". Anyways if your fiance can get an H1b chances are she doesn't even need for you to apply for her and she can come here on her own.

  9. Thanks alot bro you cleared so many things for me which I have in my mind but still one thing remains un answered which you mentioned previously about no email processing via pakistan but my father can send those docs via email right?.

    Regards

    Mansoor

Pakistan does not have Electronic Processing, what this means is NVC must physically receive the documents whether from the United States or outside of states. So you can email your father but your father has to send in the IV package via USPS, UPS or Fedex to NVC directly.

This is what IV Package usually contains

    IV Packet
    a. Bar-coded cover sheet (You get this from CEAC Website)
    b. 2 Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary (name, dob, and case number on the back)
    c. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport
    d. Photocopy of birth certificate of the beneficiary
    e. Photocopy of marriage certificate of the beneficiary (If Married)
    f. Photocopy of police certificate(s) of the beneficiary, (in some countries this is not available)
    g. Photocopy of divorce decree of the beneficiary's prior marriage(s), (if applicable)
    h. Photocopy of military records of the beneficiary, (if applicable)
    i. Photocopy of Court records, (if applicable)

This website should answer more questions regarding Electronic Processing. Basically only a handful of countries are allowed email processing of documents. Pakistan is not on the list of allowed countries for Electronic Processing.

  10. Asslam o Alaikum bro

Thanks alot bro for your infor on this and I have the translated version of the birth certificates but I read in the isl us embassy website provided list of docs require that the police certificate is required to be send to nvc. So I make my father agent too on my behalf who deals with the NVC so in this scenario can my father fill up the Form DS-260 too and they provided the link too to that form after the fee for iV package is confirmed by NVC.

One more thing bro which I want to know from you that my priority date will get active in about 3 months from now, Can we send the all docs with the filled form DS-260 after a month from now? will that be ok as I have to arrange the police certificates in that period.

Since my father is an agent too on my behalf do I still have to send the docs with the filled DS-260 in hard copies from Pakistan or my father can do it online from states?.

    Regards

    Mansoor

    W-Salam bro,

Your agent can submit docs and fill out the DS-260 on your behalf.

It is preferable to submit documents as soon as you receive them. You never know what NVC might ask. And yes you are right regarding NVC asking police certificate while the Islamabad Embassy only requires it if you have lived outside of Pakistan.

Regarding documents, You can send them directly to NVC or you can send them to your father and then he sends them to NVC, it doesn't matter which route they reach as long as they reach NVC.. I believe now NVC only requires photocopies and you bring the originals to the interview so you can just have your father send the IV package and bring the originals to your interview.

    Good Luck

  11. Alright Mansoor i'll try to chime in,

First of all Electronic Processing is not going to work for Pakistan.

If your father is the Petitioner then the best way to prove the relationship is via Birth Certificate. Having an Original Nadra English/Urdu Birth Certificate makes things easier, but a older version(urdu only) will also work. You will need it translated.

Islamabad Embassy doesn't require Police certificates for Pakistan but it is always best to have a police certificate of the places you lived after the age of 18 in case they ask for it.

If you are done with your I-864 package, send in your IV package and your case should move on to get scheduled for Interview at the Embassy of Islamabad.

  12. If you did Matric and F.Sc. in different schools you will have to put in the two schools. just list the two things as separate entities but with High School (9-10) and High School(10-11). If you did them at the same school you can just put in a single line and list the years you attended as well.

  13. we do have certified copy but not sure if they will accept this or not

They will accept all forms of copies and orignal documents.

Here is what you need to do. Read the RFE and send them exactly what it says. If it says "A Copy of your marriage license" then send a copy. For you this would be Urdu Nikkahnama + English Translation of it. If it says send "Orignal or Certified" then you can do either but it will state something. If nothing is written before send marriage license then send the same exact thing you sent the first time. Sometimes its lost and they just require it again.

People always overthink this and go for advocate certified etc... You need nikkahnama(urdu) + translation(anyone can translate if he is competent in both languages and at the end of translation writes a statement saying he knows both languages). Translating a document is that simple for the USCIS. Even you could translate your own Nikkahnama and at the end of the translation write that you know both languages well and have been honest in translation and sign it.

Send them the requested documents even if you sent them already with RFE to move your case onwards.

  14. First of let me tell you this.

You can give your interview in Dubai and have medical there as well.

    Now the how part:

You have to(or your spouse) has to call NVC and ask them to change the location of the embassy where you will be interviewing. Not a change of address because they will change the address but not the country/embassy you want to interview in. Call NVC and explain to them how you reside in UAE and would like your documents to be sent to the UAE embassy not the Pakistani one.

They will guide you further on this. You do not have to give up your job. Just call NVC helpline and ask them to change the location of the embassy.
