How did your interview go? And were you able to figure out your online account?
Well, I was not able to unlock my online account, so we just waited for the old fashioned snail mail. We received a letter yesterday and we are scheduled to have the interview for August 16th. So now we wait! 🙏

Filed September 11th for N-400 for my wife. Just received an NOA on July 12th that she was scheduled for her interview. However, I got locked out of our USCIS account online! we forgot the answeers to the security questions. 🤬
They also locked us out. Anyone know how to get that going again? Please and thank you! 😁😁

You’re right, you might have gotten somebody who doesn’t even have access to any information, what is frustrating is that they give some random answers that just add up stress.
It is very unlikely that they sent your docs to a lawyer that wasn’t even listed on the current package.
It might be something as simple as a processing time gap between the courtesy notice and the official letter, and if it’s that- I wish the customer service rep would just say so.
I agree with Julia, I know its difficult, but it really is just a waiting game. My concern was if I called it would extend the process even more. Like one of my first bosses used to say, 'No news is good news'
These folks are just run over with things to process.

One thing for y'all to note:
The green card no longer looks like the one she got two years ago. The holograms are different and the rear scan strip is gone now. I assume Mr. Cissna is stamping his mark on the agency.
Also, the I-797 letter stationary no longer looks like the original 12 month letter we received. The letter stock has a greenish hue to it and it looks like its printed on currency paper.
Anyway, just remembered some other details for y'all.

By the way,
There are no updates shown on either USCIS website or the app. We never received the extension letter or for that matter the letter that our submission was being processed (till now).
We file May 22nd of 2017. It went to the California Service Center. Online, they said the case was transfered to the local office. It was not. We went to get the I-551 stamp a couple of months ago. When we got the stamp,
the officer was nice, but she told us, 'expect a 24 month delay'. Not the case. My conclusion? USCIS is a mess right now thanks to the ####### in office. Expect the unexpected.

Welp,
Yesterday was weird. In the mail, we got the 18month extension letter, the receipt of our removal of conditions request, and the 10 year greencard! I'd say they are a bit mixed up at the old California Service Center!

Go to the App Store and type in "Case Tracker for USCIS"
It should be the first app that pops up and has like 16.8K Reviews.
Very difficult to miss.
Thanks. My original question asked is this an official USCIS app or a third party app. This is a third party app. I was concerned about how secure it was, and if someone is selling this data to interested parties. You answered my questions. Thanks

Makes sense. It is really for the last port before you fly to the USA. They do ask it though. When we went from Kenya via Amsterdam, in Kenya they wanted to see it at Kenya Airways, then KLM would not let him board until he got rechecked by agents at Schipol. before we entered the plane.
1 hour ago, Bill & Katya said:I wouldn't think the letter would be needed when traveling across international borders other than the US. I believe most folks (my wife included) only had to show it when checking into her flight to the US and at the CBP upon entry to the US.
both very good points. Essentially, the only one who is going to need to interpret the letter is the USCIS immigration officer at the port of entry. I hear alot of people worried that foreign immigration officers will see the expired greencard and halt all travel. Not so. As most foreign officers could care less about your US status. They care if your passport is valid.

It's their app. I discovered it by going on USCIS site from my phone and it gave me the option of downloading their app, which I did, but there are no updates on my case..don't really care about checking other things on in that app...Kuddos to the ones that do and share it with us~
There is no 'app' downloadable from applestore or google play or anything. what you are referring to appears to be the 'myCase' website on mobile phone.
Do you have a screenshot or link to the mysterious 'app'?

My spouse has been waiting 13 months for Removal of Conditions, filing the I-751 on Sep 28, 2016. His conditional permanent residence extension will expire in about a month and we've been trying to get an Infopass appointment for a I-551 stamp. We've tried about 100 times online, but it always says there are no appointments available. So, he's planning to file a N-400, thinking that might automatically extend his green card extension. However, our attorney says filing a N-400 does not extend your permanent residence. So now we're stuck. Even though USCIS says there are no walk-ins, we're going to try it anyway, since we can't get an appointment online.
Try going on to make your info-pass appoinment early in the morning like at 5 or 6...I used to get 'no appointments available' until the first time I tried early in the morning. Check back every day!
Hope this helps

If anyone is worried about traveling with the letter extending your greencard.
Some words of encouragement. The only time we needed to pull the letter out was arriving here back in Dallas.
We flew from Dallas to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Budapest, then drove to Oradea, the border of Romania and Hungary. No one needed it.
Coming Back, not needed at Hungary Border. Not needed to board plane to Frankfurt from Budapest. They finally asked to see it leaving Frankfurt to Dallas. At Dallas after de-boarding an into immigration and Frankfurt was where they asked. They saw the letter and treated is as her greencard basically. Stamp in the passport, Admitance to USA approved.
Hope this helps.

you can get all those info from the case tracker app, even though uscis doesnt really keep information updated, it seems
Where is this case tracker app? is this put out by USCIS as an official government app or a third party deal?
I would like to see some stats .
Any help appreciated.

Arg! Yes I filed CSC. I guess they moved it to the Dallas office. We went in to get the I-551 stamp a couple of days ago and the officer was not optimistic of getting it within a year. I guess when I saw your May filing date I was hopeful I had misunderstood something.

Oh great, so I am a May 2017 Filer correct?
It's possible I may get an answer in the next few days?

Hello,
I need to get my wife's passport renewed, she is from Romania. We were married 4 months ago and just did the biometrics for her AOS. I see this post is a few years old, can anyone tell me if the procedures on this string still apply? All the docs we are applying for (social security, drivers license) we are using her married name, do we need to get an apostille on our marriage licence to get her passport renewed? How do we get her name changed in Romania?

Hi!
We just got our NOA2. We filed on Dec 18th. It looks like they are getting closer to January. I called 2 weeks before we received ours NOA2, and they told me they were working on Oct 22nd filers, so apparently, they completed filers from Oct 22nd to Dec 18th in 2 weeks. Hope that helps, hang in there! We were getting antsy! I guess there's really no rhyme or reason as to how quickly they process them in Texas...welcome to Texas! Typical!

She said it went great! I was in Los Angeles and was not able to attend. But she said essentially the officer asked her two or three questions, and since she was fluent, he didnt ask for anything else and approved her straightaway. Her oath ceremony is tommorrow. The end of a five year journey for us! Very happy!
