1. Checking in...honestly this is more stressful than the USCIS process!

At least some of you guys statuses have updated on the USCIS website, stating that they mailed it to the NVC, mine is still stuck on:

On November 13, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

No need to worry. Just track another VJers with similar timeline as yours and see where they are in the process.

I believe only Nebraska (and/or Texas ) service center emails file when shipped to NVC.

I did not get any email from California Service Center as to when the file was shipped. Currently my USCIS website is showing the same message as yours.

    Good Luck.

  2. I received two email. One was to pay the AOS fees and another was to my wife telling her visa process is now at NVC. I paid the AOS fees. What is the preferred way; wait for the AOS to be paid and then send the package, or send right away.

Will the IV invoice happen soon? or more delay?

P.S. I already filled the Choice agent before I got the AOS invoice.

    Read post 1 and 2

Wait till the system shows as "PAID" then mail them out.

When does the IV bill get invoiced?

About a week or two after you complete the DS-261, NVC will accept and add it to your case file. A few days after that, the IV bill will be invoiced. You won't get an email of acceptance, so you need to call to find out when it's been accepted and added to the case file.

What is needed in the IV package?

    Generally, the following is needed:

    - Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

    - Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)

    - Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport

    - Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

    - Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

    - Original police certificate(s)

Please read: http://travel.state..../info_3195.html for additional documents if applicable (such as petitioner documents in IR-5 cases or divorce/military records or proof of permanent residency, etc).

Also read the country-specific documents linked in the first post. There may be additional documents needed not listed above.

    Good Luck

  3. Thank you so much for responding quickly.

I have two sponsors other than my father but I am not sure if I can have three sponsors in total?

My father lives with my own brother in USA... My brother is an USA citizen n he applied for permanent residency for my father. So I think that makes my brother co-sponsor.

As his income is not sufficient, my cousin has agreed to sponsor me, making her joint sponsor.

My brother and cousin sister both have filed taxes for three years.

First, can I have my father, brother and an additional joint sponsor( my cousin) sponsor me?

Second, my father hasn't filed taxes for last year.... Should he file back taxes?

Third, what reasons for not filing taxes are acceptable? Is there a website that you could send me a link of?

if your sisters income alone is sufficient

then your father as the main sponsor + sister as joint sponsor

The link below is to see if you need to file taxes or not.

  5. Hey,

My father is a permanent resident since 2006. He applied for me to get PR in 2006. I have already got my invoice no and am sending papers.

He has been traveling back and forth from USA TO NEPAL since then. He enters USA every six months to maintain his permanent resident status.

As he works in Nepal, He got a re entrant visa two times, that is, he did not have to go to usa for two years.

He hasn't paid taxes for 2013 and a couple of years between 2006 and 2013.

He doesn't have a income source in USA( he is 65 years old).

He is my main sponsor. My co sponsor is my sisters family.

I want to know if this will be a problem?

What is the purpose of main sponsors tax return details?

My sisters income is sufficient enough.

    Please reply quickly

I'm not sure but I think that it shouldn't be a problem so as long as you have a co sponsor or joint sponsor that has income above eligibility levels.

He might be asked as to why he did not file his taxes. In which case he/you will have to explain.

There is a difference between co sponsor and joint sponsor. Please research and see which is applicable.

Co - sponsor : Household member of the petitioner

Joint sponsor : any other US Citizen/ PR that is willing to sponsor.

Lets see what others have to say

  6. Hi all,

I received a checklist from NVC today as:

"NVC has completed the review of this case. However, our review of the

I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A (if applicable) Affidavit of Support form

and supporting documents that you have submitted indicates that there is

    still some missing documentation.

We are sending you the attached checklist, which indicates which

documents are still missing. You should obtain these documents and

forward them to the visa applicant so they may be presented at the final

interview. The applicant must present all required forms and documents,

including the missing items to the Consular officer at the visa interview.

Please pay specific attention to questions marked in the attached I-864,

    I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A checklist.

Failure to present the missing items indicated and/or to make the

necessary corrections at the visa interview could result in a denial or delay

in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

If you need a new I-864 form, please visit the Department of State website

at the following address: www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and read the

Affidavit of Support (I-864) instructions. From there you can fill out the

form online and print it to send to the visa applicant for the interview.

You will be notified when an interview has been set. Do not contact

post regarding your interview date until you have been notified. "

P.S: btw the missing part was the date and signature of the household member in AOS I-864 form which I am pretty much sure that it was actually not missed! nono.gif

So I am kinda confused here if the petitioner has to submit the missing documents to NVC or to the applicant?

    Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    BR,

    Kumud

    report.gif

Just send the missing document/information in the checklist to your spouse so can be presented during interview. Other than that your case it complete at the NVC

    Congrats.

When did you submit your AOS and IV documents to NVC

  7. I understand I will need original documents (and a copy of each) as well as 2x2 passport pictures. Do any of these items require a signature from the beneficiary? And more generally does anything at the NVC stage require a signature from the beneficiary? The DS-260 and DS-261 are sent online so those aren't an issue.

    Thanks.

No signature required from the beneficiary at the NVC stage. (Meaning there are any "new" signatures to be signed on any copy )

  8. My warm regards to all the VJ members and thanks for all the help here. My journey is nothing short of a miracle.

My case is completed at NVC on 2013-11-21. What are my chances of a JAN 2014 interview? Please advice. I am from India.

Can you tell us what were your (AOS and IV) checklist were about.??

    Thanks

  9. Hi thanks buddy my brother can b joint sponser as we r living 2gether in same house.apart from W2 form for last 3 years wat else i need from my brother so that i can ask him and start collecting the required documents before NVC process start. I will really appreciate it if u can tell me the documents i need from my brother 2 b joint sponser. Thanks in advance

If same household then I864A. (last 3 years tax return + W2 + current income proof)

    You need to file I864.

Since I didn't go this route, wait for someone who has to answer for you. Please ensure that you check your filing MULTIPLE times before sending to NVC. Also search other forums for all the checklist that they received for AOS to avoid making those particular mistake.

    Good Luck

  10. I received following email from NVC yesterday

"The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified."

Does this means my case is completed and how long i need to wait for interview?

when was your last document sent?

    Yes you are case complete.

The trend has been that they will issue interview date in the last week of the month to all cases that were completed by 20th of that month. means all cases completed by Nov 20th can expect their interview date to be assigned by next week for interview date in Jan

This is all based on past few months pattern. This could all change with the huge backlog that NVC is facing.

    Good Luck

  11. wat shud b the minimum income required 2 sponser ur wife only.if sumbody got green card 2 years back and 2013 wud b his 3rd year its better 2 have co-sponser. plz help thanks in advance

Your scenario could suffice so as long as are above the poverty guidelines. NVC is being very very deliberate is sending out checklist.

A checklist could cost you 1-2 months extra.

So I'd suggest rather than chance it, best would be to find co/joint sponsorship.

For dependents of 2 its around 19,500 (See the link below)

    http://search.uscis.gov/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&affiliate=uscis_gov&query=poverty+guidelines&commit.x=0&commit.y=0

    Good Luck

  12. You are wrong.

You have to wait until the payment is shown as 'PAID' and only then you can print out the Document Cover Sheet. It has more than just an address on it. It contains a barcode and your case info. You must include the cover sheets with the AOS and DS-260 packages.

If you want to take a chance you can mail it out as soon as payment hits your bank. Again always better to wait and send it once it shows up as "PAID"

  13. Congrats.

@ Apple 21, i think we should color code those that already completed interview and successful.

Also would suggest having a column for "Date of last Document submission" so that it is easier to track in how many days after they submitted the last documents ( it could be checklist) that they got case complete.

    Currently

    NAME--------PRIORITY DATE-----CASE COMPLETED------I/L RECEIVED------INTERVIEW-----COUNTRY

    Suggested

    NAME--------PRIORITY DATE-----LATEST DOCS/CHKLIST SUBMITTED DATE-------CASE COMPLETED------I/L RECEIVED------INTERVIEW-----COUNTRY

  14. I have the Invoice Identification number as well, but I do not see DS-261 form in the ceac website after I login.

There are two links that I can logon to, it appears they are used for different purposes?

    1. https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx (Is this the website where I am supposed to see the DS-261 form? Currently, I got an error message, I do not see DS-261 form)

    2. https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/Signon.aspx?node=Signin (This one, I can see the invoices, although they are NOT invoiced yet. Apparently, this is expected until NVC sends to invoice to us)

    hi,

give it couple days. check my timeline to get an idea.

  15. Yep, correct. The final update you will see from CSC is your NOA2. However, TSC filers get an additional update when their case is shipped to NVC. I'm not sure about Vermont.

Heres my last USCIS update nothing after this ( CSC Center)

    Post Decision Activity

On October 1, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

  16. I recently have had my I130 approved NOA2 Sep 30,2013.

I have 2 options for sponsor

    A) Income of over 120K per year but only 15-20k in the bank due to a recent investment in India

    B) Income of about 70k per year and has about 50k in the bank.

Which one is a better pic? Option B is my sister, and Option A is her spouse.

Sorry, re posted this again... please help.

They go by the total income on the latest tax return. (Also might need proof about current income [paystub showing year to date total or job letter showing salary figures]

From what I understand if total income reported (in tax return line 22) is above the poverty line for the total dependents then you do not need to show additional income ( bank account). Only if it is not sufficient then you can supplement/add other income to bring the total above poverty line.

If the total income in both cases is above the poverty line then i'd go with the one that has simple straight forward documentation. Also see what others have to say on this

Try and go the simplest route as NVC is handing out checklist for AOS needlessly.

    Good Luck

Where can you get the form for joint sponsor?

Its the same form but has the "Joint Sponsor" box checked and filled with joint sponsor information
