  1. Hey guys,

Can some of you let me know how long it took for your AP to be approved? I applied for it on Mat 12th when I handed in my AOS package. They received it on the 15th and send me NOA on May 20th.

My husband and I are looking to travel to Canada for a mini-reception with my family mid-August and I am starting to go into panic mode.

    Took ours about 76 days.

  2. Hey, I had a quick question for fellow April filers. When you received your EAD, did the AP update at all on the site? I have my EAD marked as in production, but no news on the AP and we have a tentative flight coming up really soon. I tried to get AP expedited earlier this week, and it was going to take time. A couple days later AP was updated that there was an address change, and the day after that EAD was approved. Thoughts? Does EAD ever come without AP? It seems like they always come together unless someone chose not to file AP or botched their paperwork.

Our AP never updated. My husband got his Combo Card a few weeks ago.

  3. Hey we live in Bossier too!. We recently submitted our forms, recieved info on EAD nothing on AOS or AP.

Were you guys able to apply for State ID or DP yet?

We just applied for his social security number today with his EAD. The DMV said he couldn't get his permit until he had his EAD, so that's our next step. Weird that we live so close! Hope everything is going well.

  4. Thanks Yanet! Yes the EAD allows your spouse to work here in the US until the AOS is complete which can be several months. Annie is very anxious to get out of the house and get a job. The AP is required only if you need to travel out of the country before your status is adjusted. My son is getting married in Mexico so I want to make sure Annie can travel with me to the wedding. I hope everything goes quickly for you.

B is driving me nuts because he's so bored! Keeping him entertained is definitely the hardest thing right now.

  5. Does anyone know what it means when your case creation date changes? Mine changed from Nov 26th, 2013 to March 19th, 2019.... my case also got updated to READY your case is open.

Should I be concerned or is this a good sign?

Usually when this happens, your visa is about to be issued. Shouldn't take long now!

We are married! Waiting for our official certificate so we can file our AOS package. :)

  6. You're looking at about five months processing for the I-129f, unless you're lucky. Then a month or two for the NVC, then another two-ish months to get to the interview. THEN you have to account for administrative processing that may occur. There's no time limit for that. That's a very conservative estimate.

After you arrive stateside you have 90 days to marry, then AP takes another 90-120 days.

I'm not sure your timeline will work.

I will say it has been taking about three months for most petitions to be approved lately. And my fiancé was through the interview and stateside just at six months. We were lucky.

  7. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Unfortunately, I've filed a service request, spoke to a Tier 2 representative a week, filed an inquiry with the Ombudsman's Office, and am in the process of engaging my Congressional rep...

I can only hold out hope that the latter might yield some speedy results, as all the others have told me the "our file looks like it's on track (no RFE or anything) and I should keep waiting, should be soon", "wait 30 days for outcome of service request", or 45 in the case of the Ombudsman.

You can probably imagine I'm at my wit's end here. Creative suggestions welcome!!

I'm not sure if it would work or how much help it could be, but maybe an Infopass appointment?

  8. Reality check, please:

Is there ANYONE left on the September 2013 thread that has NOT yet received their NOA2? Have those people received any communication as to whether there is an actual problem with their petition or if it's just a matter of their petition making it to the top of a seemly compleeeeeetely random pile?

I know a lot of people just consult these threads without posting, but if you are in the same boat, I would be incredibly grateful to 1) know that there are others in the same situation 2) hear more about what you've been told vis-a-vis the delay. Please speak up!

    Thanks!

Call and have them file a service request. It's been over five months.
