(i had to take teaching job english overseas). will us living in a camper on our land cause any issues when filing or anything else??? we filed our taxes etc so thats fine. i called uscis...they said having a house/apt no way made any issue in getting citizenship...any thoughts guys??? thx a lot

Most everything showing joint occupancy/ownership helps in showing you guys have a valid marriage.

  2. I didnt lose my job 8 years ago, and no Im not disabled. I am a single mother, and after I lost my job TWO years ago I decided to go back to school to higher my education so that I could get a better job. I am a single mother (my sons father is a dead beat!!!)and I have been receiving benefits for about a year and a half. I recently found another job, but it only pays $7.25 an hour. No, I dont make a lot of money, but what does money have to do with being in love and wanting to be with the man you love???

but what does money have to do with being in love and wanting to be with the man you love???

Sorry but when you are dealing with USCIS.

    No money ! No Honey!

  3. Thanks for the quick replies. Pretty much what I thought but the question comes up in every interview and I want to make sure my past doesn't jump up and bite my puwet. BTW..Kano HAPPILY married to a Filipina..three years in the PI but ready to go home..........

Sounds like you can do a DCF at USEM!

You shouldn't have any problems with your divorce records.

    More problems qualifying financialy maybe.

Also showing 3 years of filinf taxes.

  4. my wife is scheduled for a consular interview in sdo on may 31 2011 and because of an arrest and pending court date and possible jail time, the govermnemt wont let me out the coutnry to be with her for the intervies. in this case she has to go by herself. will my court case, and me not being able to go to the consular interview be an automatic decline for her visa.she has me as a sponsor and my cousin who with both our income is well over 130k a year. im working now and saving money, what can she do to make her interview a success without me there, thank you.

VERY FEW petitioners attend the interviews at most embassies and are successful. I don't know the requirements at the Dominican Republic embassy tho.

  5. Yep, manila cas number, NVC letter and a scanned copy of NOA2 is enough. 3 pics passport size USEM specs and ofcourse dont forget the cash...goodluck ;)

My wife and anak did St. Lukes 1 1/2 months before their USEM interview. Only had the NOA2 to get in.

Take 2 ballpens, wear loose clothes. Make copies of Passort as they will take it and you won't get it back until after your USEM interview.

  6. I remember that post. Your friend was from Mindanao, right? I'm hoping our case wouldn't take that long as the guy have mentioned. We just emailed a follow up on the status yesterday. Waiting for their response.

You are correct. My friends wife was/is from Mindanao. He was a christian pastor and lived in the Cotobato ares for over 12 years and things got way out of hand with the MILF. USEM CO didn't hardly interview him and his wife as they want Americans out of Mindanao. Especially that area.

  7. Senator Inouyes office didn't require me to sign anything. The immigration specialist called someone high in USCIS and got the job done the day after I called her!! Same thing happened on 2 different occasions during the process. Also 2 friends had GOOD results with Senator Inouyes office.

NO service request! Anyone can do a service request themselves after 30 days being late.

  8. My fiancee will be taking her interview in April and aside from the normal $350 fee will there be any unexpected additional fee's during the interview process inside the Embassy? I recall someone posting there is a fee for finger printing, but they didn't say the amount or if any additional fee's maybe assested during the interview process...like also paying for the delivery service of the visa if she passes and is granted.

I plan to give her at least 2 thousand peso just incase but I dont want her to be without enough pocket money to complete the process and have to be delayed.

At the time of her medical she had to pay a additional fee to get a pregnacy test and it came unexpected, perhaps we had a unusual situation cuz she needed to take her sputnum and x-ray twice because of the first abnormal results but we were NOT charged the second time except for the pregnacy test.

It's been a very long and difficult journey but im begining to see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Thanks to all the VJ members who contribute there knowledge to this forum.

Only fee I know of is the Visa delivery fee at USEM. Different fee depending on where it's delivered. About P250 + or -!

  9. Doesn't the hubby have to be traveling WITH the pinay wife to get a balikbayan 1 year visa?

I'm pretty sure if child only has US passport then they will have to get a extension if staying for more than 21 days

I was wrong. The child gets a balikbayan visa if travelling with filipina mom. Still don't know if hubby gets one when arriving at different time.

  11. Does anyone have any success stories from writing to their congressman or senator? I know many many have done this and really it is no help. I'm a few weeks shy of the 5 month mark and know that at this point 6 months is the current processing time, but am just wondering if writing a congressman in a few weeks will do any good.

    Thanks all!

If you are talking about expediting then it won't help. We and friends of mine however had great results when the petition was hung up because of unusuall RFE's. I called my senators immigration specialist. She's HOT at what she does.

  12. I have a friend that just met his lady online and met in person for not even two months this time. They are applying for K1 Visa this time, im wondering if its possible they will be approved?????is it real possible?? will evidences of communicating each other will be good enough? or there's just another way around to make them be approved?

Can anyone there share to me their thoughts about this situation?

Depends on how long they communicated online and records of such before meeting in person. Also having pictures of when they met. Hopefully different pictures and some with family members also.

How long did he stay? Helps if he makes another trip or attends interview .
