I had chicken pox when i was 8 but have no record for the same. Will be going for the medical to max healthcare in Mohali . Will the accept my word that indeed i have had chicken pox and do not need that vaccination or they will just do whatever they want to and i just have to accept it?

my DH did get the vaccine (called varicella) even though he had chicken pox as a kid. They said it was required

Looks like they skipped a few since they are claiming they are processing May 14, 2016. Our NOAA is May 2, 2016 :jest:

What a joke....Guess we will open another query. We already contacted our congressman, haven't heard anything as of today.

I just called USCIS and they said we are outside normal processing times (our date is May 4) and that they would normally transfer me to a Tier 2 but that they have closed Tier 2 for the day due to heavy call volume and to call back later or early tomorrow. They also submitted an inquiry but told me that it takes 3-5 days for Tier 2 to address an inquiry.

  3. yup we are also still waiting......DH filed an email inquiry and we should hear back by the 27th. We leave on Vacation tomorrow to the Caribbean so will follow up when we return with a call if we still have no news. Just means we have to carry so many more documents (passport, expired GC, extension letter) compared to if he had the new GC....oh well such is life and we are looking forward to sun and sand!

I just spoke with Ashley at USCIS; she explained the CSC is processing I-751 applications from May 14, 2016 - and while I submitted in May (they received June 3, 2016) - their processing times go by the current date they are processing, but not the calendar months/length of time it has been since our application was received by them. So though it has been 7 months since they received my application, they are still within "normal processing times" since they haven't even started working on applications received on June 3rd. Who knows how much longer... but I've got patience and time... so now, I wait.

interesting, I wonder what they will say to us then since our I-751 was received May 4 and we haven't had any update......

I just tried to submit an online service request and received the following error:

"Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."

This is clearly not right since my case was received on 5/27/16 and biometrics completed on 6/22/16.  Both these dates are more than 6 months old which would make my case fall outside the published processing time for CSC

Has anyone else had this happen to them?  The processing times have not changed have they?

I just tried and got this error "You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number" but I selected the i751 so no idea why I can't even submit!

  6. Hi There,

My wife will also be going to the Rele Clinic soon for her medical interview. We are still at the NVC stage, but my wife had a few questions about the appointment in Mumbai - specifically

    - Do female doctors attend to female patients for the medical interview? She was wondering if it is possible to request a female doctor for her appointment.

    - She has childhood vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, small pox, plague and polio - any idea on what other vaccinations might be required?

    - Do they provide the medical reports typically by the next day?

    - Does she need carry any documentation other than the list mentioned at the Rele Clinic website at http://releclinic.com/usa.html ?

    Thanks!

Yes when DH was having his exam there were male Dr for men and female Dr for women

they did not accept any of DH childhood vaccines and he had to get new one administered

they called us the next day in the AM and told us to come collect the reports at 4pm so for us it was slightly over 24hrs from time of exam to reports in hand

DH had to show them his visa appointment letter and they kept a copy of the appointment letter. Everything else listed at the link you shared is accurate

  7. Also could you tell me how much the medical examination costed and when were the reports handed over to you? Because I don't live in Mumbai and I called up Rele Clinic the other day and the person I talked to suggested I get the examination done at least a week before my interview so that if there is any need for follow up tests then they can be done in time for the interview. But that would mean a week's stay at Mumbai for no reason!

And as a child a got the general vaccines like polio, DTP, BCG, tetanus etc and I was planning on getting the remaining shots (HepA, HepB yada yada) once I am in States before my AOS interview. But this person from Rele Clinic said I am going to have to get the shots from their clinic. Did you all have to take your shots at Rele too?

We lived in Bangalore at the time of DH CR1 interview and yes we spent a week in Mumbai "for no reason" (we ended up visiting friends and family and doing sightseeing). We landed in Mumbai and went straight from the airport to the clinic for the medical exam. It cost us Rs5000 with all the vaccines (they made him take all new vaccines and wouldn't accept his childhood vaccines). This exam and vaccines took a few hours. Then we went to the hotel and had dinner. The next day they called us and told us to collect the documents at 4pm so we went for the biometrics appointment in the morning (it literally took 12 min) and then had lunch and then drove back to the clinic to collect the documents. Then we just wasted time in Mumbai until the day of the interview.

  8. ok I was wondering if anyone here knows (or maybe I should ask in the larger I-751 forum??)

DH just accepted an offer for a new job at a new company. He will start Nov 28. He will need to provide documentation for his legal working status. Does he share the expired GC and the NOA letter? I'm worried he might have some problems as this is a small company that hasn't worked with LPR. Ideally the new 10 year GC will arrive before his start date and we won't have to worry, but I just wanted to be prepared in case there is something we should do to ensure this goes smoothly

  9. Aren't biometrics and fingerprinting done the day of the visa interview at the embassy?

Not in Mumbai they aren't you have to go to the VAC which is just down the road from the Mumbai embassy and they need your biometrics done in advance of your interview date. When they schedule your interview they send you a checklist with details such as approved doctors for the medical appointment, where and when you need to have medical complete and biometrics and fingerprinting completed. they told us to have the medical done at least 7 days prior to the interview and fingerprints needed to be a few days before interview

  10. I went with my DH to his interview at Mumbai and they wouldn't let me in. I sat in the car outside and waited for him to come out. Even though I am US citizen and had my passport they said only the person giving the interview is allowed in and I must wait outside. You can easily sit at the hotel across the street in their coffee shop or lobby but I chose to wait in the car.

  11. Thanks for your reply. I already received my PCC from Police Station. Could you please share the copy of your police certificate. You can hide your personal details. I just want to see the format, whats written on top of the police certificate.

They need the PCC from the passport office not the police station that is why they aren't accepting it

  12. So DH went to renew his driver's license yesterday (his license expires this week, the same as his green card) and our BMV gave us such a run around. First they said he can't renew his DL because he doesn't have current status. He handed them the extension letter and they said well we have to call but before we do we need to see your social security card, and proof of address. When we had called to ask what to bring they said just the letter was needed. Back home to get the documents and come back to BMV, wait again and then they look over all the documents and say "oh you aren't a permanent resident you are just temporary" and we said no he's a conditional permanent resident which is NOT a temporary resident (their own paper on the wall said temporary residents are those with H1B, student visa etc). Then she said she has to make a call and we wait for 30 min before she comes back and rudely finishes our paperwork and takes DH picture for his new DL. GAH so much headache, rudeness and hassle!

Just wanted to share in case others have to renew their driver's license, take as much documentation that you could think they may ask for that way you won't have to make multiple trips. Clearly the person we spoke to on the phone had no idea what they were talking about OR the lady at the desk was incorrect in asking for these documents.
