  1. Thank you all for your advice. I'm still in shock, numb, felling lost with the situation. I hope to get courage to do what I need to do next to protect myself. Your support is really appreciated.

He was arrested last night again for braking no contact restraining order (posting insulting comment on my Facebook) as I'm a public figure he is trying destroy my repetition in the town I have been living for 20 years, a town where I gained a lot of respect among my community. Now my peace is disturbed because of somebody I brought 5 month ago, he is badmouthing me and I see people pointing at me feeling sorry for him. I'm sure he didn't tell them what I did for him, what I went through emotionally and financially to bring him here. I wish immigration can consider immediate actions in domestic violence cases. Thank you again for your advise the and support over the years!

  2. Thank you Sandranj for your respond. What is the reason that I can not withdraw the sponsorship? We still have to renew together his GC with in the two years, he has been only been here 5 months. What happens when I divorce him? He can still get his GC? So if he has criminal record here he can not go back to Cuba? If people gets marry out of USA can they still do the divorce in US? I appreciate your input. Thank you

  3. Greetings all, please help me to get over with this nightmare.

I'm a us citizen married with Cuban who came to the US with CR-1 (Spouse visa) 5 months ago. He has been ungrateful and complaining all the time for every little things. Also has been abusing me mentally and physically for several times and finally I had to report to the police. He was arrested recently and bailed out of Jill and charged with Third-Degree Assault, False Imprisonment domestic violence. Also restraining order in place, he can't contact me or come by our house till the out come of the hearing which is in a month. I have a right to remain silent or to be involved in the case. At this point I do not know what the out come going to be. I don't even know where he lives at the moment, he has no friends in town expect my fiends which he will be ashamed to go to, my guess is homeless shelter. My husband has seen a lot of violence growing up in his family and he might be affected by that. I feel very unsafe with his behavior when he gets angry and when switches his moods. It might be beyond my ability to change him and I'm afraid for my life. I have tried and tried and it didn't work. So, my question is:

    1) how do I go about withdrawing my sponsorship?

    2) Will he be deported if I withdraw my sponsorship?

    3) If I decided to divorce him, which comes first, divorce or withdrawal sponsorship?

I'm worried and do not know how to deal with the situation, Never in my life had experienced domestic violence and it is scary. I'm trying to leave behind the financial damages and the stress over the years dealing with the immigration processes (denial of fiance visa, traveling third country to marry and continue with spouse visa), BUT worried for my life. Please advise how to deal with the situation. I can't imagine living in the same city with me as he is jealous person and can be harmful. Please advise......

Thank you all for the support through out the years!!!!

  4. You are not alone sister, I'm having the same experience as you by Cuban husband, except that mine is even worst than yours and he become violence. First our fiance visa was denied, we had to go through the second processes and came to the US with marriage visa 5 months ago. He complains about everything although he was telling me before he will do anything to make a living in the US, now he is complaining about $11.30 pre hour paid job. He was paid $25 a month when he was living in Cuba. He was living in a very bad living conditions (house with out a roof). Now he has everything he needs on his hand and complains about everything. He is jealous about my relationship with my family, my friends and very controlling. Recently he became violence and I had to report for a police and now he has domestic valence charge and restraining order, also has court date coming up soon. I'm not sure yet how to handle the situation yet. I may ask our VJ support how to deal with what I have to do next. But, all I'm saying is, you are not the only one please stay strong and do what it takes. The damage it made emotionally and economically is not easy, but we have to learn how to move forward with new life. I thought this article say a lot about the behavior of Cubans http://www.havanatimes.org/?p=114882(Rebuilding Cubans’ Self-Esteem). Blessings

  5. Thank you all for the helps over the years. This website helped us a great deal through out the process. We started in July 2013 with fiance visa, that was denied for no reasons (we gave them more than enough evidences). We did married in a third county and applied for CR-1 and finally visa was approved on May 13th. At this time I gave them box full of evidences till they get tired of reviewing it LOL, so when my husband went for interview he took more evidences, but the consulate told him that no no no we have enough don't give us no more and only asked him a couple of questions and told him he is proved.

my thoughts to you all is don't give up. I wish you all best of luck

  6. For some of us we didn't submit our 2014 tax return to NVC and our AOS was based on tax returns from 2013, 2012 & 2011, but by the time of the interview the tax time for 2014 has passed so the embassy's asked the updated AOS which includes your tax info for 2014. If your AOS includes the tax info for 2014 you do not have to take update AOS. Good luck

  7. Here is the way you can communicate with Cuban Interest Section in DC. There are list of agents that can help you communicate with the consulate depends on which state you live. The consulat is not taking money directly since they have problem with bank because of the US embargo, but that will change soon. It took me months to figure all out because I needed to legalize some documents that I'm going to use in Cuba. Here is the link, click the state you live in and it will give you list of agents ( http://www.cubadiplomatica.cu/sicw/ES/ServiciosConsulares.aspx).I sent emails to the interest section so many times I got no respond or phone respond. My husband went to the ministry of foreign affair in Cuba and told our situation and they gave him the consulate email and finally the consulate responded back my husbands email. He is the one who gave us the link to use. The consulate email address is (consul5@sicuw.org) and his name (Hector Herrera Dominguez). Good luck!

  8. I have a couple of question about The interview letter /instructions. Is it sent to the applicant, the petitioner, or both and How is it sent email or snail mail?

Both the petitioner and the beneficiary will get the letter of instructions (P4) by email if you provided the beneficiary's email during the process. If you have lawyer or who ever you put as choice of agent on DS-261 will get as well. Good Luck!

  9. They will send the entire package to the Embassy...My spouse had the interview recently and got approved. I too front loaded my evidence with my I-130...My spouse again took all those evidences to the interview...But, they never asked for it at the interview...

But, it is safe to carry those with you again to the interview just to be safe.

I'm glad to know they send the entire package to the Embassy. I hope nothing will be lost on the way, in case the embassy want to review the case before the interview. I will take the full package. Thank you for the advise. Congratulations!!!! I'm happy all worked out for you!

  10. Boy our cases sound so similar! Denied K1 in 2012, now married in 2014 and on the immigration merry-go-round again! I frontloaded as well but I'm still bringing our whole relationship proof to the interview. I don't want to take any chances!! Good luck!

I'm glad to know I'm not alone here :). Thank you for that advise, I will take everything with me. Good luck with your interview as well. I know it is going to work at this time!!!! Love and blessings

  11. Okay is it me or has the ceac.state.gov changed I can not get in at all I get the following message.

The Department of State is currently performing maintenance on this site, which is expected to be completed by 9 pm, March 28, 2015 (Washington, DC time). We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience; please try back later.

I got the same message as you too. When I checked this morning it was working and my status changed from At NVC to In Transit. I hope they will fix that soon.

  12. Any Ideas what documents NVC will send to the Embassy? IV & AOS or the full document submitted at USCIS?

Our interview date is May 13th and I'm trying to get documents ready for the interview. I front loaded all the evidence with my I-130 application. I sent 100's of (wedding/visits photos), 100's of email correspondence/phone bills from the binging of the relationship till I-130 was filed. Do you think I still need take those documents (what was already submitted) to the interview? or should I only take what I haven't submitted? Since our K-1 was denied by the consulate in 2014, I sent them box full of evidences for our CR-1. We do not know what was the Red flag. Hopefully my husband will get the visa this time. I really appreciate your input. Thank you all for all the support!
