  1. First off, I am the USA sponsor for my wife. Is it possible to change my job if my financial requirements are still met without the one I have now (joint sponsor) . Or, will I have to stick with this job until my case complete and/or interview at the counselate occurs? Currently, we are almost at the end of our 60 day wait for a checklist. Thanks.

  2. Hey, I had the same issue. My total income did not match with line 22 for 1040. Sent I864 again on 10/22/2014 by over night.

Mine was sent the same day as yours overnight.. So I'll post here if I hear anything... Hopefully we hear soon from them!

Hopefully they change the wording of that question in the future, for the sake of future applicants!

  3. Don't beat yourself up about it. Many of us (including me) have made the same mistake. It is a tricky question that I feel needs to be reviewed in how it is worded. Even some people who have hired lawyers have gotten checklisted for the same thing.

Best thing is dust yourself off, send the correction and work on a hobby while you wait for a CC. I trained for and ran my first 5k after my checklist. Do something positive for yourself to pass the time and it will be over before you know it.

Thank you, helps a lot.. :)

@ Congrats to THETIMEISNOW ! ... I hope to be there soon too!

  4. Wow... So today our case was checklisted... :dead:

On our I-864a it had down adjusted income instead of Total Income from line 22 from 1040 tax return.

I tell you what folks, one mistake can cost you time!! Lesson learned... Unfortunately on the visajourney guide it mentions the very thing I was checklisted for.

Remember the Line 22 from 1040, don't make the same mistake we did!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Wow, so the NVC finally simplified their website... Now telling people to submit all documents in one pakage, probably to avoid the 60 day thing. :)

Well even though we didn't do that and a few others listed on the spreadsheet as well, I'm glad it will help future people get a CC faster.

w00t w00t Comon NVC *waves hands around infusing NVC with speed and awesome paper processing skills*

  6. The most shocking thing happened to me.

I talked to NVC to check how our case is going, and the operator told me we had received AOS checklist on Aug 30. I believed our AOS was approved long ago, but I checked my mail folder, I found it...we didn't notice it and did nothing for a month. Our IV scan date is Aug 21, and so I thought we would receive case close next month. But it was wrong.

I know this is all our fault, but I am too shocked. I hope my husband will wake up soon(it is still at 5am) and will send the correct stuff today.

Wow.... Well, thankfully you saw it now versus another month from now! Good luck!

  7. Thanks for sharing! I just got off the phone with Joy. She said she would have a supervisor review it, and that it should be invoiced within the week. I'll plan to call back this time next week if nothing has happened.

Thats great! Thats what the operator said to me as well, within the week, and look its here! I hope it gets sorted out for you! I'm sure it will be fine. :)

  8. Hello all! I'm still waiting for my IV fee to be invoiced. Completed DS-261 on 07/16/14; paid AOS fee on 07/19/04.

Anyone else still waiting from those dates? I'm seeing lots of IV fees being invoiced from later dates :(

Was planning to call next week at the 60 day mark...

We just got our IV invoiced on the 4th, they unlocked the fee and sent us confirmation email just today.

Our AOS fee was paid just before you on July 18th. It's either being invoiced this week, or you need to call them. If you call they should tell you its going to be invoiced within the week, I called on Monday (Today is Wednesday) and thats what they told me. Here it is.... Good luck!

  9. I signed into the payment portal today just to check to see if our IV fee has been invoiced. I saw the DS-261 (which we filed out 18-July) said competed but I wanted to make sure it was fully sent in. I ended up clicking through it and signing it just to make sure it was finished, and it changed the date of signature to 6-September(today)!?

Does this mean it overwrites the 18-July date as our original date? Do you think they have a record of the original sending of it in?

I really hope I didn't mess anything up.

  10. Uhh... I really am confused by what occurred today.

I just received NOA2 from the USCIS for the K-3 Visa.

I applied both for K-3 and IR-1 earlier this year... The IR-1 got approved this past April and now is being processed at the NVC. Since the IR-1 got through first from USCIS doesn't the K-3 get thrown out? Or will my immigration case change course now?

    Any thoughts??? :huh::help:

  11. Hey there...

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with sending in documents to the NVC for the IV package. I know that the visajourney guide and NVC websites state that birth certificates, marriage certificates, police certifiates 2x2 photos, etc need to be sent into NVC.

But what if we don't send these through to them? Will we get checklisted before anything else can happen? Or can my wife bring with her these documents to her visa interview?

  12. Hello kind internet people,

I had a question about my I-129F petition... My wife being currently in the UK is going to be assigned an interview as soon as the NOA2 arrives... At that interview should I get the I-134 or the I-864 for her to bring with her? She'll be going to the London embassy when the time comes...

The reason I'm wondering what to do is because I can make the 100% of poverty level with household size, but I can't make 125%. So I'm getting my dad to be a joint sponsor...

Anyone have the best way to approach this??

    Thanks!

  13. Hi everyone,

I'm just on the verge of putting together all required documents for the I-130 then I-129F for the K-3 visa.

Does anyone have any tips for sending these documents through the post? Should I buy a paper folder with all the correct documents ordered in the correct manner, paper clipped perhaps? Or should I send something like a plastic folder/organizer with inserts inside with documents ordered correctly.

I'm just curious if there is a better way out there than what I'm thinking at the moment, I'd really appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks.
