They want a police clearance from Burma, they had us mail in her passport so they already have it, I assumed we were to mail it to IV unit.
Burma has no centralized computerized way to get police clearance. They basically come on scraps of paper from the home township.
-
We got a call yesterday morning requesting us to provide another original police clearance. When I went to check the CEAC website to see if we are back in the dreaded AP it read issued. Confusing.
-
the site was down for me also yesterday.
-
well now after the embassy told me the visa was issued they want another copy of Original Burmese police clearance... on hold again.

msp to bkk flights available from united for 1200, but no way i would go united, and i am spoiled and like to fly out of my home town eau claire
-

booking one way when new credit card arrives (100$ cash back), 1,200 $ on ANA (comparable to KE)
-
Only 24 days in AP so I should be happy. Some people get 2-12 months.
-
We didn't know how long AP would take so we got her an additional 6 month visa for TH and I booked a trip to visit Thailand from Jan 15th to march 25th. So just gotta get her on the same ANA flight back home, we can just get her a one way correct?

you should list what document you have prepared so other users can advise you if you missed anything
-
status still says AP but
Status date changed to 1-6-14 from 1-2-14
1-2-14 was when they answered my email
what could the new update be...
-
did you try to contact the embassy you applied at by email
from what i have read a 221g should be given at time of interview
-
My response from embassy
Dear Petitioner,
Thank you for your email.
Please be informed that your submitted document is currently being reviewed. No additional document is required at present. While we cannot inform you how long it will take, but we will do at our best and will keep you informed if any other documents needed.

U.S. Embassy Bangkok
Does this mean they are authenticating documents they gave us and not send in file to DOS for background check, opinions?
-
Still hoping someone has a resource to find out where our case is at?
-
good point! I will wait until 7 working days
-
No reply after 6 days
-
Anyone know how to find out where our case is at? DHS, DOS or whatever... or if it is being reviewed in Bangkok.
-
i think they want it to have something to hold over you if you get angered about the "expedited service" fee. So yeah, it would be nice to not give it to them, but with out a letter from US Embassy BKK stating you need clearance you are at there whim.
-
Don't forget copy of petitioners passport and NOA2 and letter from NVC, they wanted all 3 for my case. Also the real price at police office is 100 baht, we negotiated 1,000 for one week service.
-
Only email for P4, while we received P3 in the post in Thailand and the US.
-
we recently waited 14 days, and you have new years and X-mas to factor in.
-
Yeah no help from the white co,lor 221g, it states in the other section:
Your case is under administrative processing and we will contact your once completed.
They kept only her medical and the original copy of her proof of birth.
-
In English, as she is from Burma. And I don't think the questioning was the problem as she told me all the questions asked and her answers.
CEAC say # 1 AP, # 2 Ready ?
