  1. They will not need a g325a that was just for you and your spouse, your spouse will be the main sponsor and will check the I am the petitioner box on the first question, the mil will check the I am the first of one of two joint sponsors and the aunt will be the second of the two joint sponsors . Make sure the total number of all the people in their household will be alright though . Just out of curiosity is ur mil not married ? She could use her spouse if they work as a household member alot more easy in my opinion .

She is married but FIL cannot work (disability but not getting anything yet complications etc so kind of an odd situation).

  2. We are getting a second joint sponsor after the first one (and the petitioner) combined did not make enough (I married into a poorer family).

So in total that would be 1) My wife, 2) MIL and 3) my wife's aunt.

Does that second joint sponsor submit a G325a because they weren't originally part of the initial filing process? Or is that not needed in this phase? I just want to make sure we have the correct forms when we send back the request for more information/additional documentation.

  4. I've landed in the U.S this past Saturday. Everything went well, the flights were good even though it seemed like forever that I was stuck in the planes.

The first officer was very easy going. Took my paperwork and stamped my visa and I was on my way.

I was randomly selected by a customs officer and he asked to go through my stuff. When I told him I was on a K1 Visa after he asked me why I was there, he brought me to the front and went through my luggage quickly. Otherwise I would've waited in line to go through customs, it was very nice of him to do that.

He poked fun at me packing my PS3 in my luggage, noting that I have my priorities straight. We had a laugh at that and he said I was good to go. I went through the doors and it was finally over. The last time she had to come pick me up from the airport and the last time for a long time that I have to go back to that airport.

We started this in the summer of 2008, and now, 6 years later. There's no more thousands of miles between us.

Thank you everyone on this website, without VJ, this wouldn't have been as easy as it was. I will be for ever grateful.

    YAY!

Its my turn Wednesday. Did you get an ESTA also? Or do we not need that for this?

  5. I got approved on a tuesday. It went so quick. Done in 5 minutes lol...

Now looked at the ceac.state.gov website that my visa is in administrative process. Guess it means they are stamping it and sending it. I hoped to get it today in the mail but apparently that will be next week. I booked my flight for the 12th since they said it only takes 4-5 workdays :-)

Wish everyone else good luck! Time to get packing and then prep some papers for when I get there haha

  6. Medical went good. Told me I was close to being considered obese but I knew that already. Been enjoying myself too much these last few months taking in all the dutch deliciousness haha.

The medical was done quick. I arrived 30 minutes early. Old building. Small practice, father and son. Everything was in order and healthy. Then I had to walk through the rain (start pouring when I left haha) to get the x-ray. I didnt even have to wait. They entered my info in the system and was done in 30 seconds. I doubt they will call me considering I dont have syphilis. All my shots were in order also.

Travel time was longer than anything.

On the 28th I have my interview. My mom is going to come with so before that we will do some walking around amsterdam. This way my mom can hold onto my electronics.

Excited and a bit nervous haha. Not sure what questions they will ask me.

  7. Congratulations!

I also had my Visa approved this afternoon in Amsterdam :D

I wrote my review for the embassy in the review section, I'll paste it here for the fellow Dutchie along with some other notes.

The appointment was at 1:30 PM. But that's not when your actual interview is. You get there and in front of the building there's a tent for shelter. You stand under it and wait till a person comes out around 1:30 and starts calling names.

Here is why my experience was awesome and the 4 other people who were also there for their K1 interview was (probably) horrible.

First: RTFM (Read the freaking manual). Or in this case your interview instructions. 2 of the 4 other people there had their cellphones with them. If you have ANY electronics with you they will not let you in until they process everyone else without electronics first. Including non immigration appointments. Immigration appointments are called on first, unless you have an electronic device. Then anyone regardless of what kind of appointment goes before you. The instructions and website of the consulate general/embassy both state not to bring electronic devices, so this is completely avoidable if you've read your interview letter.

The other 2 had no electronic device so they were let in along with me almost instantly. But they both had not read the instructions properly. One of the two hadn't booked their medical prior to the interview thinking it said to take it AFTER. And didn't have the I-134 form filled out and all the financial prove she had were her own bank accounts/job information etc.

The other person could not speak proper English nor Dutch and brought a translator, but not a certified one.

I feel really, really bad for these folks because they came in really excited and they were sitting there looking defeated once they realized they were more than likely not getting approved right then and there. It made me feel even worse when I was approved, since you're sitting in a room where you get called to a window. They/you can hear everyone's interview being held.

Long story short: I was in there for 30 minutes total, 15 of those were the interview, 15 of those were waiting and getting my stuff checked by security.

Have all your documents, follow the instructions and you'll be in and out before you know it. Approved and all.

P.S When I walked out of the embassy the people with electronic devices were still outside waiting to be let in. They also had a line of roughly 15 people before them who were being let in 1 by 1. So yeah, I suggest that you get a locker in Amsterdam Central station and put your phone there or bring someone with you to stand outside with your belongings. I went with the 2nd option.

The electronic device rule is universal for all U.S embassies and general consulates. So regardless in which country you have your interview, do NOT bring your electronic device unless you want to wait for a long time.

Congrats! I hope I didnt forget anything. On my way to the medical now. Going with the train to Amsterdam Zuid and then tram 5. No clue where the tram are but ill find them haha.

Also for the interview, do I need my original birth certificate? Someone posted a review stating they needed theirs. I just have the english copy from my birth city...

  8. Yeah, one thing that really bothers me about the U.S is their timelines for paperwork and official business. We're used here in the Netherlands to be told 1 to 2 weeks and usually get it exactly in that time frame.

In the U.S you get told 1 week to 6 months on various things and most of the time it's on the later end of the estimation. It's something we'll have to get used to, I guess. :(

Yes. Kind of annoying. Btw I forgot to ask what do I have to bring again? Passport photos, vacc book and money right? Of course passport but cannot leave the house without it lol.

Good luck this week also! Let me know how it went :-)

  9. Congratulations!

I had my physical done yesterday. I knew I had to get 1 vaccination but they didn't have it in stock and won't before my interview. So I got a waiver and I'll have to get it in the U.S :P

6 days till interview. Time to start stressing out, I guess.

Which one are you missing? Most of them you can get at your own doctor. CZ covers all shots up to 100% (DTP).

What does the medical mean anyway? Just some blood work, xray and check on your vaccs?

  10. I want to fly out on the 3rd. But it is annoying when your future mother-in-law tells you to hold your ground at her convience. She probably doesn't get that I need to book a ticket before I can actually fly anywhere.

I will go through Detroit. It's a quieter airport than ATL so I have got that going for me. That is the only criteria for me, DTW, or no flight at all haha. Smaller layovers (especially the morning flight you only have to wait 2 hours which is plenty for that airport) the afternoon flights have 4 hour layover to my final destination.

  11. Glad I helped :D

Our interviews are exactly a week apart. My medical exam is in a week and 3 days, exactly 1 week before my interview.

Planning to get a November 1st ticket if everything goes well.

Medical is on the 22nd for me. Which is great. One week before the interview. Let me know how it went and what you used or had to provide extra so that I can prepare according to the latest info :-)

  12. Oh good, was just about to help!! Let me know if you need any more help :)

Dude, the 28th is my birthday!! So that's gotta be a lucky day for you! YAY congrats!

    Awesome! Congrats in advanced.

    Glad I helped :D

Sweet! I plan on the 3rd if all goes planned. trying to figure out what I will do with my savings. Maybe just take it all out in cash at the bank? Transferring it via bank will cost a fortune. I am calling on monday to make my appointment for a medical. Hopefully I can do it next week also. This week will be crazy. Have to defend my paper in order to graduate (that is if I passed it). Exciting, stressful last few weeks!

  13. After I registered I realized I did it wrong. When you log in you can select "add applicant" on the homepage and then from the drop down menu select the K visa option. Following the instructions for that should get you to a step where you have to pay the fee before you can proceed.

This. I guess I made the same mistake haha.

    Thanks! Fixed it :-)

  14. I had my interview this morning :) I woke up at 5am because I couldn't sleep, I was that nervous. The whole process was pretty easy; a lot of waiting, but the interview itself lasted about 3 minutes only. I was like, don't you want to keep my photocopies? Don't you want to see my pictures? He said no, we have everything we need. I was surprised by that as every guide says to take photocopies of your docs. Maybe they scan them these days?? Anyway, I was a little over prepared but that's ok. I am so happy to say I have been approved!! I know this is only the start of a long journey but after more than 7 months of waiting, I am so glad this part is nearly over.

Thanks for being my buddies these last few months, you've helped me more than you know. Even though I don't post everyday, I do read this thread everyday and will continue to do so until everyone has NOA2 and beyond.

Good luck to you all, especially those still waiting for NOA2! We'll be with our loved ones soooon!

    Grats!

How did you pay for the interview? They didn't include a page or anything where it says please transfer funds to this address in packet 4.

Is there a website you have to use? On usvisa-info.com there is nothing. Just a way to register the appointment.
