  1. the other day I received a false checklist, and after few calls to NVC, they just said to disregard it, the status is still the same " wait up to 30 days blah blah blah". Nonetheless, one positive thing happened yesterday when I called them, I was able to talk to an agent right away, didn't wait for 20-30 minutes as usual.

Anybody else here that got a false checklist but was approved shortly after receiving it?????? Any upgrade at all after the checklist????

Is there someone at NVC that could give me more information besides the agent that just picks up the phone and looks at the computer screen????

  2. this is what it says:

    ___F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still
waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return
the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this
letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
    address provided.

when I called NVC the guy just told me that the computer automatically sent it
  3. Please keep in mind, there's a HUGE difference between online forms and electronic processing (EP). Everyone is required to fill out online forms now, but EP is still only available to a few select countries.

Online forms = DS-261 and DS-260 filled out online

EP = emailing the AOS and IV packages

If your country requires passport clearance (like India, for example), then it goes in the IV package.

Looks like a false checklist based on them reviewing (and most likely accepting) the AOS package. Call up NVC to confirm.

A false checklist just means they reviewed (and typically approved) that package. Has your other package been approved yet?

The IV fee has NOTHING to do with the AOS fee. They're two separate tracks. The IV fee is only invoiced after the DS-261 is received and added to the case file. When did you complete the DS-261?

well, so far nothing has been approved, I have paid/ submitted everything. I submitted my AOS package beginning October, and beginning November received a checklist for leaving address field blank. Also, The IV package and the DS 260 form was submitted end of October. Could this finally mean that they re working on my stuff????????

  4. Does it on average take between 20-30 days at NVC to review the case (aos & IV) or is it less than that?? I also had a (very) stupid checklist for leaving the address field blank, because I followed THEIR instructions. I submitted everything including the checklist (I-864ez) on Nov. 6, any chance that they will process this by december??? what are you experiences so far?? also, my wife is in Bosnia, what would be average waiting time for an interview there???? c'mon somebody say something positive about NVC rolleyes.gif

  5. Beginning October I sent my AOS package, and last week they told me that I need to fill out a new I-184ez out, because I left part 3 blank where it asks for residence address IF DIFFERENT than mailing address. Well, since the address is the same I didn't fill it out, so anyhow I filled out new I-184 form out and mailed it right away last week, so my question is am I going to wait now again up to 30 days because of this or is going to go little faster this time???? Anybody had this happen to them???

  6. Hey guys,

I found out today that my case has been received from USCIS and they also gave me a case #. They told me over the phone they I will receive a letter in the mail with instructions.

    1. What should I do next (immediately)? Do I have to wait for those instructions or can I do something before I receive that letter?

    2. What are usually the steps once a case # has been assigned?

    3. Any other suggestions/recommendations are welcomed.

    Thanks in advance

  7. I'll tell you what I did few months ago since I had the same issue. I got married in Dec '12, (my wife is still overseas) and when taxes needed to be filed I asked my tax agent/accountant what to do, he said to file for ITIN number for my spouse and to file married. Filing for an ITIN 2 documents are needed, they will be returned, my wife sent me her ID card and Birth certificate, which is being send together with some paperwork (ask your tax preparer) to Texas. Shortly I received my moneykicking.gif and the doc's

  8. VJ community, I need some help/advice from those who already been thru this. I filed the I-130, and few days ago received NOA2 kicking.gif , so what I'd like to do is be somewhat ready and do my best to speed up the process (if possible). Could you please tell me what I need to put/gather in terms of documents, step by step, and also what my spouse who is overseas needs to fill out/do. THX
