  1. I guess what she wants to do is to marry you and live a normal life right? She should say she wants to work because she would look like she is marrying you just to have a good life and stay at home for the resto of her life and that doesn't look good... They asked me what I studied and if I wanted to work in that field in the US... I said yes and that's kind of what they assume you would say if you are a normal person...

  2. I'm so happy! I had my interview last Thursday and they told me everything looks good but they just need to process my documents... I was still nervous something could go wrong and today I finally got the call from the embasy and they said: "Your visa is issued, you can come pick it up."

Now I'm just stressed with the ticket prices, I would like to leave this week, but after all this is the smallest thing to worry about...

Thank you all for helping through this stressfull process!

I hope everybody gets their visa as soon as possible...

  3. hi guys, do I need my fiance's birth certificate when going in for an interview? it's ORIGINAL I mean.

there is also a confusing thing... lots of people are saying that I need an original of I-129 that he filed back in March for an interview, but he sent the original though to USCIS, now that our NOA2 is approved, will he need to print it out and sign it again or is a photocopy of it gonna be fine?

I never needed my fiance's birth cerficate.. I brought a copy to the interview and they gave it back to me because they already recieved it in the I-129F package from the USCIS. Same thing with his divorce decree and the I-129F itself... They just didn't want any of that because that's what they recieve from the NVC...

I only needed an original of my birth certificate ( I guess they made a copy themselves) and all the other required documents (DS-156, DS-156K, DS-230 part I, I-134)...

  4. Hi guys!

I hope this can help you a little...I know every embassy has a little bit different requirements but this is what they wanted from me to bring to the interview in Prague....

    List of required documents:

    • valid passport
    • birth certificate
    • divorce certificate
    • 2 photographs 2x2 inches
    • medical examination report
    • police report from all countries you lived for more than 12 months
    • forms DS-156 2x
    • form DS-156K
    • form DS-230 part I
    • marriage ability statement
    • the fee 240 dollars or equivalent in Czech Crowns (cash only)
    • Affidavit of Support (form I-134)

They sent me the marriage ability statement, I just had to sign it...it was something like "I hereby certify that I intent to marry this person within 90 days of my entry to the USA." It's basically the same thing you sign when you file the I-129F.

Good luck to all of you!

  5. Thank you! We're ecstatic. We expected to wring our hands and count days through autumn...Christmas...and on in to deep winter just to get to this point.

If both centers are going quickly now, then a lot of anxious people here may be celebrating very soon. My fiancee is getting his passport renewed this week (the current one is only good til Januray) and 15 vaccinations in the coming week or two. Meanwhile I'll deal with the support documents, then we wait for the next notice.

I have no idea how long we can expect to to wait for his interview.

It can take around 2 months for him to get the interview... It depends on how fast the USCIS sends it to NVC and then NVC proceses it and sends it to his embassy...

  6. From the approval it can take another 2 months to your interview (it will go to NVC and then to your embassy) so you should be fine...Is tehere anyone to pickup your mail in Brazil so you'll know when your embassy contacts you? My embassy also gave me a few possible dates for my interview and I could pick one. I'm sure you can schedule as you need it.

  7. He/she can schedule appointment with DR but going there without showing them Embassy's appointment later wud be problem for him/her.. my best advice is to bring appointment letter, ID card or passport at the time of medical check up

I just found that they DO need the appointment letter in Vienna... You are right... I didn't need that...In Prague you can schedule without having the letter.

  8. yes, but if you recieve your first card less than 2 years from your wedding it will be temporary...if you recieve it later than 2 years from your wedding it will be permanent.... So only if you recieved your GC after January 2014 it would be permanent... In your case you'll most likely get it before that so it will only be valid for 2 years and then you are gonna have to apply for a new one 90 days before this one expires...

  9. But looking at other threads people got different messages saying it was actually approved....under my post decision activity it doesnt say that it issss approved

On other peoples it says that they received an email and a letter is sent in the mail...just curios because my case says none of that

It depends if you had set allert messages on your email... You were approved and you probably didn't recieve the alert message and then a couple weeks later you usually get the message you just got...

The important thing is that you are approved and it is on it's way to NVC... I'm sure you'll get a hard copy in your mail soon.
