  1. It does no good to quit your job and go live in Pakistan unless you have a co-sponcer. AP can last a few weeks, months or years. If it lasts for a year or more they

may ask for a new affidavit of support.

Be prepared to wait for your AP to end. Islamabad seems to be working on cases very slowly right now. I hope they will work faster in the fall.

I do have a co sponsor. I am blessed then since ppl who do not have sponsers cannot leave their job.

Its just crazy because me and my wife have been married over 15 months and we only lived together for about 2 months.

    It sucks.

Any advice? I was going to wait a month before making my final decision to go back to her.

  2. Hello There,

    Fast forward:

Husband was interviewed on July 17th 2013 and (most likely) like everyone, he was placed in AP and still is.

It has been almost a month now; his case was sent to the DOS on July 17th

    --------------------------------------------------------------------> Updated on August 5th

--------------------------------------------------------------------> Updated on August 13th then

I emailed them around the beginning of August, got a response on August 5th which was also when the case was updated.

The first e-mail said the following:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Our record indicates that the subject immigrant visa case is still pending under administrative processing. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to predict as to how long it still may take. However as soon as this process has completed, we will contact the applicant using the contact information he/she has provided on his/her form DS-230. Please rest assured that this case has neither been forgotten, nor slipped through the cracks.

If he/she has not heard from our office after six months, please have her contact our office using the web based email form available on the website of the American Embassy.

    Yours truly,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

    Consular Section,American Embassy

    Islamabad,Pakistan

I emailed the second time around about August 12th and the case was updated on the 13th of August, BUT look at how they got annoyed...

I know I was annoying for constantly emailing but check this out:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Please refer to our email of August 5, 2013. This email clearly indicates the admin processing situation in your case. Our office would like to clarify that unless this situation has changed, there does not exist a reason for us to contact or review your case again. May we also remind that an immigrant visa application cannot be processed any further while the admin processing is pending.

    Yours truly,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

    Islamabad,Pakistan

Any updates on those who have been interviewed in July????

Has anyone else been told as well that the AP will take only about a month????

They updated her case on her interview day but her status never changed even today it says ready.

And then when I emailed time for the first time from there email inquiry system on there isl u.s embassy website they never replied, but the day of my last updated status changed to that day.

Then again I emailed them on august 1st and this time they replied and i put the subject of the email as "other" so they might reply.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

^^^ This is what they said.

Then I emailed them again pleading my case on how much I miss my wife. then they sent me this email.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Please refer to our email of August 1, 2013. This email clearly indicates the admin processing situation in your case. Our office would like to clarify that unless this situation has changed, there does not exist a reason for us to contact or review your case again. And they also updated my status on the day i sent the email which was the Aug. 12th and they also updated it when they sent the reply. But I don't know if they updated it on Aug 12th because I sent the email or they did it because it was exactly a month after the interview.

    But her status never changed.

Please explain everything to me about your case as well!

Its been 35 days today. I cant take it no more ethier i might just quit my job and leave school to go to my wife.

But her stattus on ceac website never changed it still says ready.

What does yours say or what did it say after interview and till it said issued. please explain it would be a lot of help for me.

and also did you email the embassy after the interview? or did you just wait.

because i emailed them twice idk if that slowed down my process. please reply

  4. Hey guys, so my wife's visa has been in admin processing for almost 8 months now. I visited her in Dec 2011 when we got married, and in Dec 2012 when she had her interview. I am visiting her again for a week. Any wise words or tips that might help her visa case? smile.png))))) Its not every day I get to go see her :'(

Hey My wife's came is in admin process too , its been 34 days since her interview.

  6. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING(JUNE-2013 ONWARDS)

My case is in AP Since June-2013, i was given Blue Sheet

HOw long will it take, its already 2-months past after interview.

anyone who got AP after June-2013 ,plz share

& plz persons in Ap before June-2013 also post their experiance that how much they have waited till today

also plz share if they have travelled outside country, this is one of the reason of Being late Ap

My wife's interview was July 12th she was given a 221g green sheet. and was told it could be weeks or months.

And was put under administrative processing. But for some reason her status on ceac website still says ready WHAT does yours say? and it was last updated on august 1st since I emailed them.

  7. 2 months in, I'm still unemployed but hopeful.

My husband's story is different though. He got a job last May but got fired after a month (2 days after I arrived in the US) because he said a word that means "#######."

He's been looking since - submitted maybe 100 or more resumes all over the place but there were no takers. Lately, he's been depressed, or has mood swings, irritable, and been sighing a lot. We're living with his parents, since the plan was that we were gonna get a good job, get enough money for our own place, etc. Lately, his parents are starting to hint subtly that we should have jobs by now checking up on our jobhunting, yada yada...and this adds to his depression and negativity.

I don't know what to do or how to deal with a really depressed husband. Nothing I do cheers him up.

sad.png anyone have the same experience? sad.png

You just gotta have a good talk with him And tell him as long as he rely's on Allah swt (GOD the glorious) for Every need of his then there is no need to worry. Allah swt (GOD) is watching every thing and he hears every thought.

Tell him after every difficulty there is relief.

Notice in our lifes after every bad thing there is always something good that happens.

We just have to be patient and keep trying hard and do the best we can.

We humans are weak but we are capable of anything.

    We can make it !

there is good ppl in this world.

All humans are brothers and sisters of one another.

Tell him he will be ok and tell him you trust him that he will do good, it takes time

I was loooking for a job since 2 months And i now just got a job, it takes time, but NEVER ever give up. tell him that.

And always look on the bright side at least we have food to eat

there are ppl who are starving.

at least we have arms and legs there are ppl without arms or legs.

were blessed if we really think about it. but ikno that even though were blessed we still feel depressed somtimes about life.

theres so meny things that go on, but just hold on and keep yur head up, excercise and get healthy becuase your health is your wealth.

Use your tme wisely, while he is looking for a job he should read books excercise clean set up an schdule to help him succed in life.

    new ideas

    new thoughts

    new everything

just never give up , you too just pray for a better day.

  8. Usman bhai yaar kyun itna parashaan ho rahay ho dost. InshaAllah Eid ka baad embassy speed pakar la gi. I think embassy is bombarded with lots of stuff these days therefore it's working slow. Aap itna mut socho yaar. You know that possibilities are limitless so don't get caught in these.

Lol man it's hard. I'm fine one day and then the next day I just feel like going back to her but I have to work and go to school. Idk inshAllah it will happen and you are right anything is possible.

  9. Every time I call DOS to ask for the status of my wife's case they always tell me that its just in AP.

BUT they also always tell me that its pending at the embassy and the consular officer is waiting to make a final decision on the case.

So does this mean that the AP for my wife might be shorter and doesn't have to be sent back to USCIS like some other peoples case I saw?

    Or go for security checks?

But I guess they must be waiting for something since its in AP right?

Please anyone from any where answer or tell me anything, if you have any type of info on AP. ANY! Let me know!

    or share your own story!

  10. "Administrative Processing is a standard procedure for all visa applications. It is a normal process and it does not mean anything is wrong with your case. Some cases take longer to process than others. Once the administrative processing has been completed, we will contact you immediately to let you know and will ask you to return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via our approved courier service (American Express). If it has been more than 6 months since your interview, please e-mail us through our web-based e-mail submission form with your interview date and case number."

This is what it says on the Islamabad embassies website in FAQ section!

  11. Usman, did they tell your wife that she will get her visa and passport in x-x days? To most of the interviewers they didn't clearly tell "congrats, you are approved" They simply said your respective AmEx will call you in 7-10, or 8 days, or in 2 weeks to collect your stuff.

I dont believe these oldies DoS ladies man. They dont know sh*t! One of them told me "Dont sweat, ALL CR1 category goes through this AP" I think they are holding either because of security concerns or ship all July visas at once. Lets see what happens this coming week. InshaAllah ALL of us will hear a good news smile.png

They said it may take weeks or months.

And when they emailed me back on aug 1st they said she is in AP and we have not forgotten her case.

and they said if she doesnt hear from them in 6 MONTHS then contact us

  12. For some reason I don't think our wives are in real AP because of two things.

1- They were VERBALLY told they are approved OR they will get their passport and package in x-x days.

2- Our CEAC status shows READY. If in AP it should have said AP.

I tried to punch other random ISL case numbers on CEAC and I saw people with status "Administrative Processing" Ours show READY. That tells me they are simply holding back our cases for oh who know what "security" concerns... Maybe?? We saw embassies closing, Ramadan is ending, etc... Man you know these gora people high on security sh*t Or they will simply aggregate ALL July interviewers and ship their stuff all at once?? Idk guys, I'm thinking to STOP thinking about this ordeal and just sit back, relax, and wait n watch.

lol you right boss, hopefully you right.

but for some reason I asked the DOS why it didn't change on the website and they said it is probably a glitch on the website. IDK

    but Ima wait

    everything happens for a reason

Thats weird tho they said 7-10 days for your wife and gave her the green sheet?

for my wife they said it could be weeks or months.

  13. JULY 12th was her interview

but A green 221 (G) sheet was given

They said it may take weeks or months but everything seems fine

    Status shows ready
    last update Aug 1st
but the update is because they emailed me back about my inquiry

they said she is on AP

    Female Beneficiary

If anyone can share there AP experience or help out with a list of success stories that would be great.

And please do not direct me to the AP tracker. I want to start a new one.

Please everyone put your interview date!

  14. Shout out to ALL Pakistanis APPROVED July interviewers whom were given visa approval and were told they will RECEIVE their visa package and passport in x-x days/weeks BUT STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED IT YET!!! PLEASE reply with:

    1 - Interview date

    2 - Current status on CEAC (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx)

Let's keep this thread rolling so ALL July interviewers can be updated.

    Thanks!

    Mine

    1 - July 11th

2 - READY (Last Updated on Aug 2nd)

    JULY 12th

but green 221 (G) sheet was given

    Status shows ready

    last update Aug 1st

but the update is because they emailed me back about my inquiry

they said she is on AP

    Female Beneficiary

  15. Hi Every One !

I was interviewed on 29th January 2013 in US Embassy Islamabad. Visa Officer took my passport and put into proceedings. On the site of CEAC my case was “PENDING” till one month. Later on it was updated as "NO STATUS". I sent 2 web based E-mails. In reply they said it is in Administrative Processing. Its 6th month is continued and no change happening in my case status.

Please guide me, is it normal duration or it is a matter of concern now ???????? I am bit depressed and worried now.

    Please share your knowledge…………………………….

It sucks waiting but inshAllah keep waiting patiently your time will come. But now try to involve a congressmen or senator to help inquire about your case. or email the embassy and ask why its taking so long. keep trying. maybe just send the embassy some more pictures of your wedding. or some more proof.

  16. My wife also had her interview at islamabad embassy on july 12th and they kept her passport and also gave her a light green 221g sheet.

they said they need more verification and put it in AP. They said it can be weeks or months.

You can call 202-663-1225 dos for your case status and also check online at ceac state gove website with your case number.

I think you should have just left your passport there it might of made things a lil bit faster.

  17. I got married which is the offical NIKAH but we did not consumate the marriage. but right after somtime iwent to my wife and we lived together and consumated the marriage waay before the interview. I got sick or else i would have gone to the interview with her. But they still put her in AP. they said they need to do some verification

I kinow alot of ppl have to wait a long time but I have a feeling it will end quick.

  18. I talked with the DOS lady today and she was very nice and told me that my case is still in administrative processing but it went from pending to active.

and she also told me that when they need to do some verifications for example they need to verify with my wifes school that she did attend or if they need to verify our marriage certificate they send an inquiry to the ppl responsible for it. and thew delay happens if they dont respond. but if they do then things will move fast.
