  1. Hi everyone. I have not posted or even logged on here for years. I met my Nigerian husband in 2008 and brought him here on a K-1 visa in 2009. I thought he loved me by all the sweet words he said, the hundreds of hours on the phone and webcam, messenger..... Well he was only here three days and took my bank card and purchased dating website subscriptions. He was on several sites. I was not aware of this until three months later. Meanwhile, we got married and I got pregnant . I was3 devestated when I found out and confronted him. he said it didn't matter because he was just bored and wanted to talk to them for fun and wasn't planning to meet anyone. He promised to stop, but he fell into a habit of doing it every few months, me catching him and then he would do it again. We got into a lot of heated arguements and I turned into a detective in my own house. He claimed to be addicted to it and it wasn't personal. We went to counseling , we prayed and fasted, he even fly to Nigeria to seek deliverance from his Pastor. He still kept having emotional affairs, often getting a woman's phone number and then talking to her secretly. Twice he had physical affairs. By August of this year I caught him again and kicked him out. I told him to get help and if he could control himself, he could return. He decided to get a second job, buy himself a new car, a new tv, anything but get help. On Christmas ev he announced that he want to have all the young pretty woman he wants now and wants to be single. He said he cant stop going on dating websites and will cheat on me if he returns. He is also emotionally and verbally abusive. He never even gave our kids Christmas presents.

He has ruined my life and my kids' lives. He sucked $15,000 from me overall, he took my youth and beauty, he damaged my relationship with my family, I lost my best friend, he took away all my hope and happiness in life. I regret ever meeting him!!!! Everyone told me he is going to scam you or treat you badly, don't talk to him, but I did it anyways.

In addition, I many many other people on here who married a nigerian a few years ago and we all regret. One lady married the guy and he turned around and married a Nigerian woman right after his interview (meanwhile taking thousands from her over the years). Another lady brought her husband here on a K-1 and he cheated on her allll the time, was rude, unloving. He was even doing romance scamming here in the states in front of her and the kids. When he wasn't doing that he was in stip clubs and bars picking up new girls. another lady just found out her Nigerian husband of two years, has been having an affair for the past year with a co-worker much older than him.

Many of these men have no shame and no integrety. Please use extreme caution. Run

I cant believe you took out the time investigating marriages involving Nigerians and asking people to be careful about 160 Million Nigerians is not a good way to present your problems. I do not know about others but its affecting me psychological.

I see absolutely no reason why it should affect you in a psychological way, she is only sharing her experiences. Personally I am a Nigerian and I married my bestfriend a Nigerian man who is absolutely wonderful and in my eyes his the best husband anyone can ever wish for so I consider myself very lucky. This has nothing to do with the fact that he is a Nigerian because there jerks everywhere and you just fell for the wrong one. People just have to be careful meeting men online especially when the person is in a different country, you visit once and your already jumping into marriage because they sweet talk you and introduce you to their family members. Thank you for sharing your experience and hopefully some people will learn from your experience, but I wished you topic was "THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU MARRY ANY MAN". No woman or man should jump into marriage, get to know the person very well in real life and also pray about it and make sure your doing the right thing. There will always be bad and good people everywhere .

  2. I wanted to inquire about a K-1 visa process. My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting married but have yet to meet - how can you consider marrying someone you haven't even met? From the highest fraud country in the world? Wow, good luck with that

I was going to comment on the same thing too. How can someone consider marrying someone they have never meet before in real life. Marriage is a very big deal and should be a life time commitment and chatting with someone on face book or talking on the phone everyday is not enough to want to jump into marriage with the person. These days some people can portray to be what they are not online and even on the phone so be careful because it happens everyday. I think you should visit more than once, get to know each other really well in real life. You fall in love with personality but you live with character, you can get along with someone on the phone but that does not mean you get along in real life. I wish you the best of lucks and I hope it works out for you.

  3. Hello, I'm doing the K1 change of status. And I'm pulling my hair out. In the I 485 instructions . It says to include medical report, which I have. but if you are a K1 do not include it. Just the vaccination supplement. Which I don't think I have. I got a yellow book. international Certificate of vaccinations of Prophylaxis. And I got a Appendix c Form . Vaccines to complete for adults. And here's the kicker. I got a sealed envelope with tape and red stamps . it says To USCIS Vaccination forms. But I cant open it to see what it is. How do I make copies. Who's susposed to get it. And what if they lose it.

Here's the extra kicker. She don't have a I94 entry paper. She says they didn't give her one. And Social security wanted it too. When I got her Social security card. She's got her passport / visa entry stamp .

My printer is making lines on the copies. You think they will send my app back.

We just did our and printed out the 194 online, you also do not need vaccination record because the sealed yellow envelope that was taken at port of entry includes all the medicals and vaccination done before interview. They take it from you and send i to USCIS and its valid for one year. Read instruction below

  4. Having a nightmare with out application. This year has been ruined by incompetence. Applied in April and got a RFE on July 30th which we received 6 weeks later! and only after a info pass. Replied to RFE and they received it on September 11th since then nothing but lies from USCIS and the congress office we have 'helping' us has been next to useless. Called yesterday and a service request has now been sent as officer on phone couldn't see or understand why we have been made to wait so long. Anyone else had a service request sent? Or been put through hell like this?

I am so sorry that you guys are going through this. We also applied in April and my husband then my fiance has been here with me since October. I was going to say to contact your congressman which you already did maybe you should involve an immigration lawyer. Goodluck

  5. Hi good day to all, my fiance is planning to file for k1 visa but the thing is the last the we saw each other was in 2011 due to his complications with work, and we didnt even have copies of our hotel stays and other recipts back then but we do have a lot of pictures together with families and friends. weve been together for 5 years now. any suggestions on what things should we do? Thanks much appreciated

You just have to find a way for both of you to meet each other or you will not be eligible to file the 1-129f and even if you decide to marry both of you have to be present for the ceremony. I don't understand how you two can go for that long without seeing each in real life and you have been in a relationship for 5 years.

  6. Fist off, there is always two sides to every story so you don't know for sure if this woman is telling you the truth but if she is then she needs to simply file for divorce and next time her husbands abuses her she needs to call the cops so they can give him restraining order also if she fears for her LIFE she really need to involve the law and stop being afriad. Why can't she get a job since she has a green card for 5 years now, she really need to step up and do her own thing and stop relying on her husband.

  7. Just hang in there, at the end of the day is all worth it as long as you two love each other. We went through thesame thing but its all behind us now, we are now together, very happy and even much inlove than we were before and if I had to do it again I will because it definately paid off. Its only a matter of time and patience, anyway just curious you got engage in May what took you so long to fill?

  8. you should go ahead and email lagos embassy to send you the packet 3, make ur visa pymt and go online to schedule ur interview date.you do not need to seal any docs. medical and police report can be done a week before the interview date or you can just do them now if you want to.just make sure you and your fiance has enough proof of ongoing relationship also make sure you know your fiance very well like where she lives, works, family etc. Your fiancee needs to send you at least 2 most recent pay stubs. If you have any more question feel free to email me

  9. I think you should use that money for something else. Lawyers does exactly what you can do, you send the docs to them and they send it to uscis. Your case is not that complicated so you should do just fine with no lawyer. Just make sure you provide every necessary docs and triple check everything to avoid any errors.

  10. Hello guys,

Just a couple of days ago my fiancé and I checked the status of our i129f petition and as usual we typed in our receipt number and it appears to be on Post Decision stage with a following message:

    Post Decision Activity

On September 27th, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

For approved applications/petitions, post decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center of the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

My question is, does that mean our petition got approved?! I haven't received anything in the mail (yet) since it's dated September 27th, but if it is what I think it is (an approved petition) How long should we wait now for them to process visa for my fiancé? (Or how long does it usually take?)

I don't have a timeline but my case was received by USCIS on July 26th, 2013 (so it's only been like 2 months, is that normal? I just thought it takes longer.)

    Thank you in advance!

    Dmitriy

congratulations, its been approved. You can start callign NVC after a week to see if they have recived your case and get your case #. Goodluck

  11. Exactly. We can't give an advise unless you tell us which services are you talking about.

    Just side note:

*If you're using cellphone company I guess you're be able to get the records ( my cellphone company sent me a records each month. But I don't use my cellphone to call abroad. Too expensive, tongue.png .

*Just suggestion: If you want a cheaper one, go buy Skype subscription.I have one -beside free video calls- to contact my fiance when he travels for work or just check on him for lunch at his office. $ 6 US and you have an unlimited minutes. You can have call logs record by downloading in your account. The result would saved into Excell.

*If you want call records on Skype - free video calls- I used Historian to get mine. However, I am not sure if the website still works or not.

*Anything else, we are not using Yahoo or Facebook to communicate since I am the only one interested and having those accounts on both websites, laughing.gif .

Which one do you pay $6 for unlimited calls?

  12. No I was legally seperated for over a yr. Our divorce was by mutual consent and the reason that we seperated was because he was unfaithful... but GOD has a reason for all he does and when I was hurting the most I met my soul mate... we have been together for about 4 yrs now.

Oh ok, am glad you found your soul mate and hope you get your NOA2 soon. Its hard being apart from that special someone in your life.

  13. I Checked on the USCIS website with my reciept no and this is what it says on the initial review phase..

On September 24, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

can someone please help me interpret this. Thanks.

Its a normal process, I think almost everyone gets that message a week or 2 after NOA1. I still have not been able to find out what it realy means. We called USCIS when we got thesame message and they were unable to explain why to us what it means.
