  1. so true, same happened to me, got drilled as well without breathing space and i had to be quick and direct with the answers.

Glad you got approved. The funny thing is that CO grilled my fiance with so many questions and did not ask for a single proof of relationship, he never looked at any docs he came with not even a single picture. You never know what to expect when it comes to Lagos embassy. Its almost like gambling. We are both glad that phase is over.

  2. i had my interview yesterday 9-25-2013. i checked my visa status at CEAC this morning around 11AM and it was under AP status. after less than an hour, i checked again and says ISSUED (Sept. 26, 2013). i also checked my passport and it says STILL AT POST. i am happy that the visa got issued already but was just wondering if it is normal for USEM to process a visa so quick? i mean, it's like 24hrs after my interview, it was issued already??????

Congratulations. Yes I think its very normal because my fiance visa was issued in 2 business days even though they told him it will take a week

  3. Well, i figured out the BS factor and now I am pissed. I actually lived with her and everything was fine. The last few weeks I have been fed a bunch of lies. When I confront her saying I know she lied about something and I just ask her to tell the truth. It is all I want. The embassy in Kiev contacted me and said she never even scheduled an interview. I did get her on the phone today and I will speak to her in a few minutes on Skype. She does not know I know the truth. This will be interesting.

Wow that is very hurtful and mean and to lie that she was denied because she is too pretty for you is an INSULT. Well now you know that your in the relationship all by yourself, she should have just be honest with you. Three things, she either does not want to be with you becasue she thinks she is too pretty for you or there is someone else or she does not want to live in the US.

  4. God I feel so broken hearted. I guess there is a 95% chance at least that he will be denied. Where does honesty get you in this world? You honestly think that all the people they have given visas to have never done drugs?! Such a crock. He didn't even think about it. In Peru it's legal to some and have less than an ounce on you, they only prosecute if you're trying to sell it. He says his thought process was, I am an adult I am married what reason do I have to lie? All that money, all that time, and all that engery and hopefulness gone. cray5ol.gif

Do you think there is anyway we could possibly defend ourselfs? What about a lawyer?

You need to stop panicking until you know for sure. Just pray to God that he does not get denied rather than being worried.

  5. Interview was today and I got the news of the denial as I was on my way to work. I haven't even had a proper chance to break down and let my emotions out. This is what I can remember about it before I went numb. He was asked the usual questions...

    who petitioned for you? (me)

Where does she work and what does she do? he answered correctly.

has she been married before? yes and he gave the name of my ex and why we divorced

does she have children? yes. gave names and ages.

have you met her family? only on the phone and has talked to everyone including my mom many times.

where did she stay when she visited? I stayed with him at his apartment for over a month.

has she met your family? yes. his cousin and best friends (photos of all of us) and has talked to his mom on the phone and talks on a regular basis with his eldest brother in Austria over the phone for over 2 years. He approves of us.

Do you work? he answered yes and told him he's a chemical engineer and where he works.

I cant remember all the questions but my fiancé said the whole time of the interview the CO kept smiling and nodding his head yes. Then the CO went into a room and came out and handed him his passport back and said denied and gave him that ####### about "bonafide relationship" and said they would be contacting me. My fiancé read me that form that many other people have posted on here about the denial. My fiancé said he asked the CO if there was anything else he needed to see because perhaps he had it in all the evidence he took with him but the CO said "this interview is over".

Julius and I have been in a relationship since April of 2010. We didn't even file for a K1 until well into our relationship Nov 2012. We are crushed. Im just going to copy past this same post into the review because I don't feel like retyping. Having a broken heart will do that to ya.

Sorry about the denial, he probably got thesame CO my fiance got, my fiance told me he was denying everyone that very day and he was sitting dowm praying he don't get him but he did and he grilled him with lots of questions, even asked him why he won't wait until am done with school to marry me like that was any business of his.

  6. Hello,

My fiance is coming to the US from Italy on a K1 fiancé visa. He will eventually become a citizen, but in the meantime, would he be able to get public assistance? If not, is there a certain kind of insurance that he can apply for to help him before he is a citizen?

Thank you so much! Any info is appreciated!

    Domy

No public assitance for him which is why your required to provide proof that you will be able to care for him when he gets here and that he will not becom govt reliability. There are helth insurance everyone that you can get for him or if you have one with you job after you two are married you can add him to the policy.

  7. Yes, it is correct. We planned to get married in Ukraine in March (I wanted December originally, but it is kinda cold). I was in "busy season" in Florida where I work so I wanted to gain some more money before I returned. So, why not return in April on her birthday, which I did. I needed photos from her within 30 days of filing according to the I-129 petition and I do not trust Ukraine mail system. So, once I returned, I was debating about getting a lawyer or just doing the forms myself. If I had a lawyer, it would cost a lot and most people said just do it yourself because it is only paperwork. I did fine on the USCIS side. She said she will wait 6 months and let's try so we did. I filled out the petition on May12th, but it was the weekend, so it arrived in Dallas on May 15th - right on time from the day we took the photos in Nikolaev, Ukraine.

Oh ok, that was long journey. Do you know why it took over a year to get approved, was there any RFE?

  8. Just to let everyone know - I never said I was fluent. I am advanced, but sometimes 1 word can make the entire sentence different. I always translate from google, bing, and yandex to make sure I am correct. Many times the translation is horrible from those sites and I often understand the Russian better than the English translation. The moderator in here said to translate it. And I wanted to google translate it for everyone. I had a Russian woman here in my town try to translate it and she was confused also. Someone mentioned she may have been drunk when she wrote me. I did not think of that, but very possible. Sometimes, she helps her friend cleaning in a bar, but I do see her getting drunk - which i do not like. Now, I just need to find the refusal number 221,212,214 to see what I can do next. I am debating about traveling to Kiev, but I want more info before I hop on the plane.

I checked you timeline, it says 1-129f sent in may 15th 2012. Am just curious if that date is correct since is over a year now plus you said you two got engage september last year?

  9. Just heard from my fiance. The interview went welldancin5hr.gif . They said everything looked good, and they kept his passport and told him to look on the website for his visa. But, I somehow forgot to send the W2 forms with all the tax information, so I had to email a scanned copy to the embassy. Does all this mean we for sure have been approved? Or is there still a chance they could say no? I feel so relieved but I'm scared to actually release my breath until he is here with me. I'd like to say thank you to every one here on Visa journey! This website is truly a blessing. Thank you!! Oh, I'll be doing a review of the embassy as soon as I can squeeze more info from my fiance.

Your are approved, because they were satisfied with the docs provided, some people only give paystubs or just employment letter. You should not have sent it to them because it was never requested. Just hope sending it to them now when it was never requested will not cause any holdup in getting the visa. CONGRATULATIONS

  10. Ok. I have the KEV number and checked the casefile status. The status says "Ready" for interview, but the last update was August 29th. I was on the NVC waiting for over 35 minutes for the KEV number - ugh. On the American embassy website in Kiev, I was trying to check the status, but when submitting my information, it says page request not found. I tried a different browser and it said the same.

Yes, it is very difficult to communicate with her, but only when she talks fast. I can speak and understand Russian, but not at a fast pace. Every so often she gets in that mood as if I can understand speedy Russian.

Also, on the embassy website it says "If your fiancée is not issued a visa, he or she will receive written notification giving the reasons for the refusal. The refusal letter will explain either how to drop off the missing documents or how to schedule a second appointment. Your fiancée will not be required to pay again."

So, I guess she can schedule a 2nd appointment. If there was a supposed fraud indicator, then apparently I can do a waiver. I tried the DOS hotline; they will reopen in about 10 minutes from this post. Now, I will try to call the American Embassy in Kiev.

Refusal is different from denial, they might refuse someone a visa becasue of more documentation or more evidence. For refusal one can always have a second interview if you provide what is required. Denial NO only if its apealed and case re-opend. Denial they send it back to NVC and NVC will do more investigation which can take up to 6 months after which case will be closed.

  11. When I try to get the number for the Vermont Center, I keep getting the National Customer Service for USCIS. I am trying to find the KEV as you suggested

All you have to do is check this website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? it will tell you the satus if it says denied then she was denied then what you have to do is find out the exact reason she was. If you can't get thier number try emailing them because something is not right here.

  12. Am sorry to hear about the denial but like somebody else said there is always 3 sides to every story. I think you should find out exactly the reason for the denial because I don't think Its possible that someone can be denied base on looks. Maybe the CO was not convinced enough that the relationship is real. Is there a huge age difference, what kind of docs did you provide to proof the relationship was real, has your fiancee ever been denied a us visa before? Have your fiancee scan and email you the denail letter and see what it says. Based on what it says , you can contact your congressman and see if it can be appealed.

  13. Just got this message from the lagos Us embassy stating the below information,I think i should be happy or is there anything went wrong Because uscis never send me any notice of approval neither email. But email was sent directly from the lagos Us Consulate.Still feel relief anyway,Lol.

Let me say this to you because I care, please this man is a scam. can't you see whats going on, he is not in the hospital, this is what they do everyday. he wants your money and I hate to see you get hurt because your type always do. 15. My fiancé went to his k1 visa interview on 8/30/13 in Mumbai and he had all proof that would possibly be needed. When it came to the interview questions they were as follows: where did you met, who long have you known each other, what will you do for work there, and than date/location of the wedding. We had to sign a 90 intent to marry from his arrival. Now where does it state a date and location of wedding must have? He was trying to explain our possible plans, cut him off, said denied due to no supporting documents or sufficient evidence when they asked for nothing. Than after printing out the general denial letter of no supporting documents he asked what do you need I have everything here and they said denied on grounds of no date/location of wedding. Any suggestions on what to do next or who has has the similar experience as this?

It can also depend on how he answered the question when he was asked the date and the location because my fiance was asked when our wedding is going to be and he answered that the date is not finalized yet but we are loking towards the end of the year or early next year. If visa was granted he has 6 months to leave and 3 months when he gets here to marry which is 9 months so a lot of people do not set wedding date or even make plans until they have the visa in hand because 9 months its more than enough to plan a wedding. Denying him due to wedding date and location is completely wrong.
