Hi everyone.
I don't know if I am posting in the right section. Please move it if needed.
I got my travel card a while ago, and we are thinking of heading up to Canada next weekend.
My husband and I have passports but, our 1 year old doesn't. I keep reading that, birth certificate is sufficient enough and we won't need a passport for him. We will be traveling by car.
Has anyone tried this? I can't seem to find a number to call and ask. Any help or answers would be great.
Thank you so much.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm from the Niagara region so, I'm familiar with both those locations. Its good to know I shouldn't have any issues.
-
I went to Pittsburgh to do the finger prints but that will be changing to Jersey soon.
My point of entry was in Niagara falls Canada to Niagara NY. It was a pretty smooth process

Perfect! Thank you!!!

I planned on it. My husband and son would obviously be travelling with me as well.
Origional copies? Or photo copies?

So, what's next?
Other than finding a job. I don't plan on working. I'm a stay at home mom.
My question of concern is with travel.
I'm a little worried about going back home to visit. I've been here in the USA for almost 15 months. I have a 1 year old son who hasn't been able to see his Oma back in Canada (she can't cross because she is waiting on her German passport). And I would really like to go back home to see my mom. It would be nice!
With ap you aren't granted access back in to the USA, do I have anything worry about? Has anyone encountered any issues while crossing from canada to the USA and back?
I know I'll get pulled in, any documents I should bring with me to come back to the USA with?
I'd just like to hear some of your experiences. Give me a little relief. I still have to get my son's passport but, that won't take long. I'm looking to go back home for my mother's birthday in early August.

Thank you so much!!!
I appreciate your help!!! I asked her several times about a form for my income, She had no idea what I was talking about. She wasn't grasping the concept of Canadian income and, I think it totally messed everything up.
-
I just googled more about Hoh. I think I understand why she filed seperatly now.
-
Alright. Our child was born here in the US, July 2014. I assumed automatically we were filling jointly, I don't know why this women filled us seperatly. I told her about my income, and told her to file together. I asked her about the dependent thing, she seemed as if it was possible. (In Canada a spouse can claim another spouse as a dependant, I guess it works differently here). My husband also told her that he wanted to file as head of household . I figured she would've done what was in our best interest not messing everything up.
My husband is head of house as I don't work. I only got unemployment benefits from canada because, we thought I'd go back to work but, I didn't and don't plan on it for the years to come. I actually claimed maternity leave.
-
I do not have my green card yet. I just have my noa from applying for my residency. I though since I don't work my husband can claim me as a dependant? Or is he better off claiming head of household like he originally told the person to do?
-
I would also like to add that my husband told her to put him as, head of house hold, is it still possible? Even though we are married? We also have a child.
-
I think the person who did our return messed up.
She said because I made income (Canadian unemployment) that, my husband cannot claim me as a dependant. Something to do with federal law? I'm totally confused. She said even though my income isnt taxed here(in the US) it doesn't count.
Does this sound right?

Thank you all! My mother in law will be coming, she's gonna take care of the little one, just in case. Its over a hour drive for us so, we'll just make a day out of it I suppose.

Got my notice to do my finger prints Monday. I'm a little nervous, I don't know why. Maybe some of you who have gone through the process can chime in and tell me a little about the experience? I'd really appreciate! Thanks!!
Oh, and do you think it's okay if I bring my son with me? He doesn't get printed but it's too long to leave him home with a sitter.

Right.he is 15mos. We just wanted to go to for thanksgiving and I don't think a passport would come in time. We do want to get him one for future travels.
Has anyone had any issues traveling back into the USA with AP?
I'm a little worried they may give me that 3 year ban since we had a long wait getting the AOS started.
I have my EAD and AP card and a letter from uscis saying I maybe eligible for a interview Wavier. I plan on bringing all my documents with me including marriage certificate. I know I will be pulled in and questioned regardless.
