  1. Right.he is 15mos. We just wanted to go to for thanksgiving and I don't think a passport would come in time. We do want to get him one for future travels.

Has anyone had any issues traveling back into the USA with AP?

I'm a little worried they may give me that 3 year ban since we had a long wait getting the AOS started.

I have my EAD and AP card and a letter from uscis saying I maybe eligible for a interview Wavier. I plan on bringing all my documents with me including marriage certificate. I know I will be pulled in and questioned regardless.

  2. Hi everyone.

I don't know if I am posting in the right section. Please move it if needed.

I got my travel card a while ago, and we are thinking of heading up to Canada next weekend.

My husband and I have passports but, our 1 year old doesn't. I keep reading that, birth certificate is sufficient enough and we won't need a passport for him. We will be traveling by car.

Has anyone tried this? I can't seem to find a number to call and ask. Any help or answers would be great.

    Thank you so much.

  3. So, what's next?

Other than finding a job. I don't plan on working. I'm a stay at home mom.

My question of concern is with travel.

I'm a little worried about going back home to visit. I've been here in the USA for almost 15 months. I have a 1 year old son who hasn't been able to see his Oma back in Canada (she can't cross because she is waiting on her German passport). And I would really like to go back home to see my mom. It would be nice!

With ap you aren't granted access back in to the USA, do I have anything worry about? Has anyone encountered any issues while crossing from canada to the USA and back?

I know I'll get pulled in, any documents I should bring with me to come back to the USA with?

I'd just like to hear some of your experiences. Give me a little relief. I still have to get my son's passport but, that won't take long. I'm looking to go back home for my mother's birthday in early August.

  4. Thank you so much!!!

I appreciate your help!!! I asked her several times about a form for my income, She had no idea what I was talking about. She wasn't grasping the concept of Canadian income and, I think it totally messed everything up.

  5. Alright. Our child was born here in the US, July 2014. I assumed automatically we were filling jointly, I don't know why this women filled us seperatly. I told her about my income, and told her to file together. I asked her about the dependent thing, she seemed as if it was possible. (In Canada a spouse can claim another spouse as a dependant, I guess it works differently here). My husband also told her that he wanted to file as head of household . I figured she would've done what was in our best interest not messing everything up.

My husband is head of house as I don't work. I only got unemployment benefits from canada because, we thought I'd go back to work but, I didn't and don't plan on it for the years to come. I actually claimed maternity leave.

  6. I do not have my green card yet. I just have my noa from applying for my residency. I though since I don't work my husband can claim me as a dependant? Or is he better off claiming head of household like he originally told the person to do?

  7. I think the person who did our return messed up.

She said because I made income (Canadian unemployment) that, my husband cannot claim me as a dependant. Something to do with federal law? I'm totally confused. She said even though my income isnt taxed here(in the US) it doesn't count.

    Does this sound right?

  8. oh no, i keep nothing in my candian account but a few bucks left over from transfering EI. I almost should've just banked everything over there and let it sit until the exchange rate was better.

Okay, I'll report back if I have any issues, which I'm sure I will.. I'm a little slow when it comes to this kind of stuff; not the brightest bulp. Thank you for your paitences and help! I really appreciate it!!

  9. So I pulled out my slip, and I see it's a t4e, but i don't know where to really go from there... i'm to fill those lines out, and just mail it back?

  10. Thank you!!! I'm sure I will figure it out. I will mention this to my husband. I mailed my AOS in, just got it returned to me today, I have to mail it back in (that has been another headache!)
