  1. . NVC and department of state are the same thing.

me too same yar...i am confused now

NVC and DOS are both the same.

First of all happy holidays to all of you. I have a question. I got this email this morning..

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On December 26, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

**How come my case is not ship to NVC? what is the difference between DOS and NVC? Thank You!

  2. well mine was approved on the 13 and 2 days letter my status was updated for the 15th is when they shipped it.. but you should look at your hard copy..becuz I spoke to the lady at NVC today and she said that the notice day on I797 8 wks after that is when NVC recieves the petition and it takes them 10-20 days for it to process in there system

Thanks guys! How long after did this update appear from the point of approval (or the update I currently see on my case)?

  3. On November 15, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Could you please tell us what the actual status says on the USCIS website? Copy and paste it. Or was it something like below:

On November 13, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

  4. yes they will update it once its been shipped to the NVC..

Guys I am awaiting for my case to be transferred to the NVC

Would the USCIS website show an update of when they actually mail out the papers to the NVC?

    Right now I have this:

On November 13, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

  5. I did read the first two posts but never understood it, the 2 packages do I have to fill those or does my husband have fill one?

By "whole process", do you mean just the NVC portion? Cause that depends on you and how fast you pay bills and send the packages out (and if they're correct).

The interview letter is only sent out after an interview date is assigned. An interview date is only assigned after a case complete. And the case is only complete once both bills are paid and both packages are received and accepted.

I highly suggest you go back and read the first two posts in this thread. It contains all the information you need.

  6. so basically If I provide both emails they will email me but I will have mail them all the documents ?

If you give over both email addresses once the case number is assigned, then NVC will send you all correspondence by email. But, this doesn't mean that YOU can send THEM both packages by email. Only a few select countries are eligible for EP (electronic processing, aka send packages by email). Pakistan is NOT one of those countries, so you have no choice but to snail mail both packages.
