Of course im sorry for the problems you are having with your husband. But quite frankly this is making me angry. You should not have filed in the first place if you werent sure about you husband. Because of people like you my baby son is forsed to grow up without his father! Because of people like you that take up government time that could have been spent on a case that really needed their time. Im sorry to be so harsh, but hearing that you have wasted all this time and now are looking to find a way to cancel your visa?! Do know what some people are ready to do to be at the stage that you are fortunate to be at?! Wanna know how to cancel? JUST CALL AND CANCEL. Dont waste anymore of their time. And this is not just you, you just happened to catch my attention in a very difficult time. There are alot of people who are filing for pr and dont really actually want it, or just arent sure. And im just sitting here staring at the "initial review" status day after day after day.and watching my little one cry for hours after he sees his dad on skype. This whole system of ontaining a permition to even enter us is EVIL. poorly designed. I feel like the government just doesnt give a ####### about the cases and how much pain brings every minute apart from your loved one. They just waste time during the day to get a payccheck and go back home at the end of the day to their families and cozy dinners. This is just ridiculous. For a country with so many advancements and such technologies, its just imbarrasing and ignorant.

Would love to know if other Iranian K-1s used a lawyer or if you prepared your own petition packages? After lurking around all the FAQs and forums here, I'm sure I could prepare our petition, but was wondering if because of the political climate between the two countries, if it would be better to have legal representation. We meet all the basic requirements (financial support, met in person, proof of ongoing relationship, etc.) Also do you recommend the Ankara or Dubai consulate?
I have a phone consult with a lawyer tomorrow, but I'm very much on the fence as to whether or not I want us to spend the money on something I can do myself, but of course, having the process run smoothly and getting him to the US quickly is my priority.
Thanks for any input you may have!

Hello. My fiance is from Iran and she is concerned how her government will act when they find out she intends to marry a US citizen. We are at the interview stage and I just mailed the paperwork for her to sign - which her post office is now holding and they said the police should review it before they let her have the papers. We both realize mailing the paperwork to her was probably not the smartest idea :/ She is very worried they might not want her to leave and so am I. I know many Iranian fiances have come to the US, can anyone offer any advice or experience with this issue? It is very much appreciated thanks.
    Mike
