  1. I know it's a relief once you get that DATE!! lol I have thanksgiving week so the flights are expensive coming back which sucks. I actually emailed the embassy once NVC gave me the date of the interview and told them if I could get a copy of the letter so I could show it at work and request my days. and they sent it to me in their reply. Also 3 weeks later my fiance got his packet in the mail in DR and the next day I got the same exact packet here mailed to me, which I was not expecting.

Oh wow! I am glad for you, and thank you for sharing that with me. I will try to do that with the e-mail. that's a good idea! Good luck with your interview!

  2. Congrats finally a date and a load off.... good luck on your interview...

Thank you! I have way less stress than what I had a month ago! Uff! After all we went through... Almost 3 months after approval and we finally have an interview date. :) I am ok with the fact that the interview will be held in January mainly because in January I have way less to do and I could go there and wait with him till his visa arrives. Plus it is way cheapper to fly over there in January than in December and I will be in winter break from college.

God knows what he does and sometimes we question him, when we should not.

I have one question though... I e-mailed the embassy to ask them to send me a copy of the packet 4 but they said that if we don't get it by November 30th to get in contact with them... How did you get them to send you the copy? was it over mail or e-mail?

Good luck to all in this journey!

  3. What number are you calling?

I've been calling DOS @ (202) 485-7600 and they keep telling nothing has been scheduled yet. And forget about the list. That ####### hasn't been updated for the longest.

I call 1 (877) 804-5402, but I have not called them since the 20th of September, given that they told me to wait for an e-mail from them with package 4... blah blah blah.

I check the list every day... though I know it has not been updated since last month...

Someone told me that they schedule interviews at the beggining of each month and that's why I have been patient, but it is already time for them to do something.

  4. All US Embassy offices will continue working regular hours

The Embassy of the United States reports that in connection with the closing of the U.S. Federal Government by Congress, the diplomatic mission in Santo Domingo will continue working normal hours for the immediate future.

Consular services and all routine Embassy operations will also maintain their routine schedules.

  5. Hello everyone!

My case was sent to the Consulate at Santo Domingo on September 11th and it was in transit until the 17th. The status at CEAC changed to READY. Then it changed again on the 19th and then again on the 20th. I called the Consulate on the 20th and checked if there was an interview date already scheduled but they said, no, not yet, and that they will contact us through e-mail when they have scheduled it. We are still waiting for some kind of information but nothing till this day.

One more thing... if you read in the page from the Santo Domingo embassy you will find that they do NOT send package 3. Instead they send package 4, which consists of the interview letter and the information for the medical exam and vaccines...

I want to call again but they told me that when they would e-mail me... what should I do?

  6. WE ARE APPROVED!!! In fact, I don't know if the guy was purposely flashing it at me, but the papers were stamped approved before he even interviewed me. I will post my review right away here but.. Damn, what a morning. I left Surrey at 830 and didn't get to the consulate till 11. An hour after my appointment time. Thanks to an accident on the Fraser bridge that took over an hour to get past, then an additional half hour to get to the consulate from there, but they were really good, said that they were waiting for me upstairs, they waved me through, went through security and it was less than an hour in and out. I was so stressed about being late that I almost cried when the guard said go through. then the woman at counter B asked why I was so late and as soon as I mentioned accident and Fraser bridge she held up her hand and said ,"Say no more". Everyone was so friendly, questions were easy. They never even asked for any further evidence!

Good luck to everyone still to go.

Congratulations!!! So glad for you and good luck with everything else! dancin5hr.gifkicking.gif

  7. Great!!! Glad you did not go ahead and pay that extra money. Persistence is the key.

    Yes me too! :D

I can smile again since Monday! And last night when we got the notice that we were transfered to the consulate in Santo Domingo I was jumping off my feet and screaming of joy! So happy! I can't even explain it.

I guess after waiting so long for everything at the end everything turns more sweet, or maybe I am just crazy lol

We will see how things go from now on...
