  1. well our journey is finally over...81/2 months altogether. Its been fun its been sad itd been so stressful I could pull my hair out. At times I thought we would get divorced before we even got married, its a real test going though this. The one thing I could not stand is after all the money ,time, and effort it all came down to one interview, one interview. EVERYTHING builds up tp that one moment. I cannot imagine being turned downed at that point. Its like climing to the peak of a very high mountain only to fall off as you reached the top. Well its over and Im glad. My sweetie and her little sweeties will be here soon and I thank God for that.I Thank everybody here for all the moral support that this web site has had for us. On behalf of my sweetie and myself Thank You from the bottom of our hearts

FOR MY FIANCE AND HER TWO CHILDREN ABOUT 650.00$ PLUS HOTEL PLUS BUS RIDE AROUND 900.00$ THEY WONT TELL YOU HOW MUCH OVER PHONE NOW I KNOW WHY...AND IM NOT YELLING MY CAP LOCK STUCK....GOOD LUCK. OH YA DONT PAY ANYBODY TO 'FIX YOUR PAPERS' BEFORE YOU GO INTO CLINIC ANOTHER SCAM

  3. almost one year here, and I'm still feeling awkward talking to my husband's family. they talk fast and have these different accents, they are really nice and sweet though...

so, i had plenty of times understanding them haha. I'm not confident talking with them, sometimes it's like that i get stuck (dunno what to talk about) ...and u know the awkward moment when 2 people stop talking, right? smile.png...it's not like when it happens tween u and your husband, when it's awkward, u can just kiss him hehe jk.

so i talk with my husband, and he says that I am fine biggrin.png if they don't understand me or me don't understand them, we could ask each other. I think he's right...so whenever i talk with my sis in law (esp on the phone) I would ask her to repeat and talk slowly smile.png)) and she's ok with it. so may be you can do it too? wink.png my problem is more with other people, the non-family ones, like when i go grocery and when some strangers ask me about something, and they talk so fast and of course, with different accents. what I do is, ask them to repeat heheee...I don't care if they think I'm stupid or deaf tongue.png

about american people talking negatives, well ..it's not only american people....if u know what i mean...it happens everywhere, my neighbours in my homeland do it, my relatives do it, all i have to do? simply stay away from them...or don't reply when they start it wink.png..

  4. My fiancee and I completed the process last month; this has been a wonderful forum for information, so we wanted to provide some specifics in case it can benefit others:

First, we waited 6 weeks for the packet to arrive in the mail. We finally hired an attorney, he contacted the consulate in CDJ, and they e-mailed him the info same day...we waited 6 weeks for nothing! Second, below is my fiancee's experience the day of her interview, which only took a couple of minutes:

"I arrived as they said no more than half an hour before my apt. I got there by 6.45 (my apt was at 7.15) first, they make you go to another place not far away (5 mins walking) where they perform the first “check” of the documents, and stamp one of the forms; it is in a plaza nearby, and there is a waiting room, I guess for the people that accompany the applicant. By the time I went in it was 7:05 and in the room there were already about 150 people. In many cases there were two people going together, couples, families..

When they say, NO food into the consulate, they mean gum too. In my case I had a packet of gum with 5 pieces left, the same that they made me chew, I wasn’t able to just throw them away. I was glad the packet wasn’t full.

Get a decent meal beforehand. I know it is early in the morning, but I waited 2hrs before I was called to review and gathered some papers and then, another 1hr15mins to be called for the interview. By that time I wasn´t feeling that good.

And yes, be prepare for a boring wait, you cannot even focus on read a book, since “your number” (NOT in order) could come up any moment on the screen, so you all get to do is to stare at the screens hoping you would be next."

    THATS IT! WHAT ABOUT INTERVIEW????
